If I have time, I will edit some more fun fancam compilations. lol Her concerts really are something to experience, may it be fancam or official live clips. And yes, her staffs has been with her ever since she debuted. When her contract to LOEN Ent. expired, she did not renew nor leave the company but instead made a deal with the company with the conditions of retaining her staff and dancers with a better salary and benefits. Hence, they established EDAM Ent., an in-house label (more like a subsidiary) solely to manage IU's career and made her long-time manager as CEO. They are now called the "IU Team".
1:27:47 yes, it's her team. They have all been with her for a long time now They are all friends and know each other well, the same goes with her band too
On her recent US tour IU gifted express passes to Universal Studios Hollywood in LA for her complete staff. For the flight back to Korea she paid for business class seats for her whole team of more than 100 people. I think it was about 350,000 US$.
YES! IU is the FIRST FEMALE ARTIST who performed at Olympic stadium. There were 400,000 people waiting to get her concert ticket during ticket sales. She is LEGEHD 👑
@@SylverReacts This september she will perform at the seoul world cup stadium with 107k audiences total in 2 days and she almost sold it out during presale for paid fanclub members lmao. General public sale only had 1700 tickets remain, yeah that was a blood bath
@@dangchauanh There is an IUTv episode where she tried to book tickets for one of her own concerts in 2019. She was shocked to see that she was in a waitlist of 47,531 people. At the end the whole waitlist had 100,000 people.🙂 Here is a quote from her on this episode: "I can’t believe… I’m such a slowpoke. How come I’m so bad at this? How come no one told me to refresh? I should really wait this long? I can’t even see the seat arrangement! It makes no sense. It says I’m on a waitlist of 47,531 people. There are 16,000 people behind me?" 🤪
@@dangchauanh So true, but still my dream is to see IU in Korea, despite how hard would be to get tickets not accounting travel distance for me (resale is illegal in Korea) so it's every UAEANA against the tide. The best chance is to become UAENA officially and braise for impact.
The blue-shirt guy you recognized in Christmas in advance fancam has been her dancer since good day era. Now he’s IU choreograph director for her MV and concerts and has a child named Ji-yu with mixed of IU real name and stage name.
if you watch IU TV, you'll get to know her staff pretty well, including several of her dancers (her lead dancer is married to her lead stylist). Her staff is like her extended family. IU TV shows behind-the-scenes for her concert tours and album / MV making, and much more. Really entertaining.
Merry Christmas in Advance is like the national Christmas theme song at South Korea. Every year in December this song always rises up in all music charts. Also about IU dancers, yes, they are permanent members of her team.
Thank you so much for this great IU journey! I am loving this, as a big IU fan, and I'm sure those new to IU are also enjoying. When you do get to that 2014/2015 timeframe, and she takes over as the producer of all her own music (and composer as well in many cases), in addition to essentially all lyric writing...the music goes to a new level. When you get there, though, you'll really want to start understand what is going on in her private life. Her lyrics are so personal, and no other singer makes you feel so much emotionally. Be sure to include some episodes of Hyori's Homestay with IU (first season of show) when you get to 2017 / Palette album, for example.
I just love how IU includes her fans in her concerts. She's there for them and they're there for her. I'm enjoying the deep dive, diacovering so many "new" IU songs Thank you.
Due to the immense popularity of “Good Day,” IU ended up singing it multiple times a day, which led to vocal cord nodules. Her doctor advised her to avoid the three high notes in “Good Day.” From that point on, IU started to think about changing her singing technique and gradually made changes. I believe this is why she doesn’t often sing “Good Day” at concerts. The transition from chest voice to falsetto, or from falsetto to chest voice, is so pleasant to listen to. Although her singing technique has changed over time to the current concert style, I think the technique she uses now is suitable for concerts. It’s a technique that allows her to sing for a long time. While I liked her old technique, I also like her current one. However, during the en-encore at IU’s concerts, she takes song requests and chooses which ones to sing. I hope people don’t request “Good Day.” Well, by the time she gets to the en-encore, she would have already sung more than 20 songs, so she probably wouldn’t sing the three high notes part anyway…
The Good Day concert 1 is japanese version of the song. I believe its from 2012's Japan concert. In that part when she stopped the song, she want the audience to sing the high note, but their voice are not loud enough, so she sing it herself. 2nd Good Day concert is from 2019, from 360 degree Love Poem seoul concert. As you can see, she performed in 360 degree stage. You'll see more of that stage later, bcs Blueming and Hold My Hand stage from that concert are majestic.
If I can hear Good Day in full one last time in person with the 3 step high note, my kpop journey will almost be complete. Although I heard it two times this tour, she did say she would do it in full next encore in LA, so I am waiting lol I'm going to try to go to Korea for a future concert one day because The Golden Hour was definitely the grandest setup I've ever seen and am incredibly jealous of the people that got to go to that. I tried for the fan concert for fun last year for the queue in general sales and ended up at 378k in queue, even though I wouldn't have been able to go, just wanted to see what the ticketing experience was like. You should also check out My Mister once you're finished with Hotel Del Luna. Imo, My Mister is what solidified IU as a great actress to me.
The good day clip from the 4k video concert in which her hair is blue ,if you noticed she looked like she is about to cry , forcing smiles and not into the performance ,its because she just got the news of gohara aclose friend passing away before going on stage . She was supposed to sing to more songs after this and do an encore but she just followed good day with a speech about mental health then ended the concert early with asong called dear name
In fact, the performance of this song was before she received the news, when she went up on stage after receiving the news, it is true that she was wearing the same dress, but her hairstyle was different, and she gave a vague speech about what happened and sang Dear Name

Yep indeed, unfortunately that's the 2nd day of love poem concert, chronology of the news are that clear but happened as with that same dress she closed with dear name. It breaks my heart every time. But Lee Ji Eun is way stronger than fate.💜
"24:49" This song was performed at the 2022 Golden Hour concert, where she also announced it was the last official performance of 'Good Day" in her concert. 🥺
also - agree about Merry Christmas in Advance...the live performance version (her singing only), is so much better. I really wish she would release live performance album(s)...as her live performances are so amazing. Related to this, be sure to add her 'sloppy live' shows on IU TV when you get to the Covid timeframe. This is her forming requested songs live with Jehwi (her friend and composer of Through the Night / collaborator on other songs too). They do a great version of Merry Christmas in Advance on one of those episodes, and she sings the Moana theme song, a BTS song or two, etc... Very fun.
I met IU in 2019 thanks to Hotel del Luna. When I found out she was a singer and started watching her concert fancams, I was also amazed by her fame and the size of the concert halls! Now that I know her better, even a stadium seems too small to contain her greatness 😅🤩
Yeah I actually had just started Hotel Del Luna right before we started this deep dive and we’re still working our way through it over on Patreon, absolutely loving it! But it’s absolutely wild how many people are at her shows now! 🥰
Merry Xmas in Advance is huuuuge song, people would listen to it every December, annually, together with other carols. You've listened to 3 of iu's everlasting songs : good day, nagging, and merry xmas in advance. If we think again, its crazy to have 3 culturally popular song as 17 years old girl 😂😂 After this point she would release roughly 1 (one) new "evergreen/ everlasting" song every year 😅
Lives of marry christmas in advance of manila concert and 2 other songs in which she was wearing hoodie are actually from re encores in which she selects songs on request of crowd means they have not prepared these songs for concerts. It's almost like party after concert. Btw I today came to know that real was a breakup album😅.
I love that the big note in Good Day was as a result of the staff trolling her - they asked her to go up twice as a joke, but when she nailed it they decided to keep it
