I’m 43 I started playing guitar at 14 I learned on my own but never learned what the actual concepts of styles.. I always used my fingers instead of a pick. At 24 I started learning classical and baroque.. I learned a lot over 5 years of learning modes theory from Northeastern University in Chicago.. but it only taught me a strict way of playing it right or not at alll.. I’ve been learning a lot from your channel as a guitarist I want to learn as much as I can.. You are def the best teacher on RUclips…

Another clear lesson that you can put to use immediately. I've been doing this kind of thing a lot with blues progressions in particular, but without thinking much about the transitions I'm choosing. I just throw in random things to see what happens. Sometimes it sounds good but rarely do I end up with something structured enough that I can recall with any clarity how to repeat it. Since I have a pretty good chord vocabulary this lesson has given me a whole new perspective on how to use that knowledge in a much more effective way.
