my brother was a big fan of Ian's...i remember him wearing a top hat, and tails:) RIP RUSTY...NOT FORGOTTEN...YOU INSPIRED MY TREMENDOUS LOVE OF MUSIC...FOREVER IN YOUR GRATITUDE...REST WELL BROTHER....
thanx for sharing this! i was supposed to see him in NYC tonight but flew (fell) down a flight of stairs at work! grrrrr..... Ian still rocks the house! RIP Ronno.... and to hamdelsun... my late bro got me into Ian, too! Thank you (and RIP) to my bro, Pete for not getting pissed off when i used to 'steal' his albums and scratch 'em up with my little record player!
@Renhjarta The guitarist is Robbie Alter. Overend Watts was bass player in Mott the Hoople. Robbie Alter played with Hunter only on this tour. On the album from which this number is taken, the lead guitarist is the late, great Mick Ronson
@noraview I believe it was pier 82 (on the west side)... Actually I think it's the pier that the Intrepid is at now. This was filmed and broadcast on channel 5, Bill Boggs introduced the band dressed like Ian... Mountain was the openning act. I was there, it was a great show
noraview....I think this is from the Dr Pepper music festival on the pier. Wouldv'e been next to where the Intrepid is now, pier 79 maybe. I was at that show, and the year would be right. Great outdoor summer series.
You watch a Hunter concert and don't move. Means your dead. Him and Mott used to cause riots back in the day.hard to believe Hunter is 80 and still rocking!
Was a great show when the VIP barrier finally came down. Beautiful night on Pier 84!

Ian Hunter was .. and still is .. the BEST .. Have fun and ENJOY!
Before there was Slash from Gun's N' Roses there were rockers like Ian Hunter and Marc Bolan who wore top hats and had long curly hair ;).
