Cragdwella's RUclips Channel (who is mentioned around the West Bond portion): / @meetmeoutside Check him out and follow along on his adventures.
This trip completes the NH48 #19-23 peaks that I missed out on last year when I had to bail a day early on my Pemi-Loop attempt.
Once again I was treated to weather you couldn't design better in a simulation and the entire 3 days I was out I never saw a hint of rain in the sky (until that last half-mile or so). Ran into a bunch of great people and was treated to a 25 minute solo-experience on Bondcliff during a Sunset.
Highly recommended hike for people of moderate physical ability. A few of the climbs are very long and rocky (especially the one out of 13-Falls to Galehead Hut on Twinway). The AT runs for a little bit through this area so you'll be sharing the trail with thru-hikers depending on the time of year you do this (I saw plenty). They always have some great stories - if you can keep up with them to hear it.
Safe travels my friends, thanks for watching!

It is such a rugged beauty up there, one of the few places I feel like I'm truly home.

Hell of an adventure Caps, you put in some work... and I must say, the jeep door trick at the beginning of the vid was spot on

The first time I saw a swipe-effect like that was in a movie when they slow-panned past a sign and then it was a totally different environment at the end. I fell in love with it. I tried it in my Acadia video but didn't have the camera placement the same between the two shots so you could tell. You can still tell a little bit on this one as well but I got the placement very close. Such an easy effect to make too as long as your clips are shot for doing the edit. Very glad you are enjoying the videos!!! Thanks!

Caps Outdoors My goodness ! My friend let me commend you on n the great camera shots and editing. Really nicely done. The lighting when you were on Bondcliff was freaking awesome. I remember that hike well. I camped the first night a little beyond Galehead. Then I too dropped down from the Bonds and camped near the brook. Glad you made the effort to get out to West Bond. 👍 And of course, thanks for the shoutout ! Sorry to hear about the tragic moment on Jefferson. You are a class act my brother. Your efforts didn’t go unnoticed. What a great tribute to the man that died. Much respect. I love the Whites also. Peace my friend.

@@MeetMeOutside That means a lot, thank you my friend! The Bonds was an area I saw in pictures a long time ago and it was a bucket list item for me. Getting out there was purely magical and my timing was just about spot on for when I crossed them. I am so glad I took the recommendation to run up to West Bond (almost literally ran, lol), I had the entire peak to myself the entire 20 minutes I sat up there.
Thank you for those kind words, it was a life changing experience for me, one that changed my entire outlook on life. I never really talked about it with anyone besides my family, and I think I might have mentioned it in a past video but never got into details. It felt good to finally talk about it after 5 years. Peace Brother!

Thanks for posting to the RUclipsOutdoors subreddit. Great scenery. Looks like Oregon! How do you like doing the longer videos?

I'm actually a big fan of doing longer format videos. I always go into these trips with huge ideas so I shoot a ton of footage (this one came out to 112gb worth of clips) and when I get home I'll basically isolate myself for 3-4 days to do the edit. This one was really fun to watch come together, although it ends on kind of a sad note (spoiler? oops).

@@capsoutdoors Interesting! Ya everyone says to do short videos. But the longer ones are funner to do. Less views but the ones that do watch are more quality. My editing is always an hour or two here or there for a few weeks. I never seem to have a big chunk of time to do it all together.

@@MattCookOregon I can see why a lot of people say that. For some it is hard to dedicate an hour to watch someone hike through the woods. I've fallen into it myself, having broken videos up into 3 parts by stopping after a bit and continuing later when life wouldn't give me the full time needed. Everything about the process is a blast for me. The planning, filming, definitely the hiking, then the ride home thinking about how I'm going to put it together. This channel is a great thing to compliment my love for the outdoors and now I can share that with others. Win-win!
