I recently donated 3 bags of clothes to my local hospice thrift store. Specifically I had a slew of very nice skirts I’ve accumulated over the years … except I’ve never worn them - not even once! But every time I open my closet I’d look at them and admire how beautiful they are. I would always put them on and then decide not to wear it. So last week I told myself it doesn’t matter how beautiful they are - if I actually haven’t worn them in 7yrs I need to say goodbye 🥲
Yesterday I went into the shop and saw a few of my pieces on the rack and I didn’t feel sad when I saw them. 😊

I have this pile on the corner of my bed. My son's torn surfer shorts, a jean pant with a small hole, a apron with a strap missing..... why am I having such a hard time just throwing it away? Ugh...

See if you can answer your own question! Follow that thought process. Are you thinking 'I could / should mend this'? Do you have the time to do this? Do you really want to spend your time mending things? Do you want to pay for someone else to mend them? Would you rather spend the time or money on something else? I promise you that it's okay to let things go that need mending.
