Papillons are amazing dogs but they are so smart they need to work. My papillon does obedience, tracking, parkour and agility and we're always working on new skills - he gets bored easily and a bored papillon will get into all kinds of trouble!
Too many people think they are just tiny dogs so they don't need much training or stimulation. But they are an extremely intelligent and active breed that absolutely loves learning and working. My River is far smarter than my previous Labrador was! He actually reminds me of a little border collie. Definitely not couch potatoes.

@@literallyapie9843 close, but a mix-up. "It's Me or the Dog" is a TV show, thus has a studio number while Victoria Stillwell Academy is Victoria's training company.
That said, a production team goes and performs video interviews (the intro videos you see) to give Victoria a heads up and decide which ones she would like to take on (vetting the dangerous ones out) and set up protocols for difficult cases.
During that time, it is easy for the crew to pass by neighbours and friends to get their take for the interview and ask if they would be willing to help in exchange of a wage. They would all need to sign release forms if they do help, so this method would be the most beneficial in the long run.

Little dogs in my opinion are very overly pampered and indulgend too much; as Amber explains below they are treated more like kids than dogs which is wrong and causes intense aggression. It is not a little dogs fault if they misbehave, it is often times the upbringing. Since they are babied on too much, little dogs often are more difficult to train and one has to be very patient and willing to go through various errors to train them, but it can be done! Victoria’s persistence never fails to impress me and even the most terrible situations she can bring to light! :) 👍🏻🐕

Around that time, I met someone and their badly behaved dog in a park and, despite me usually being afraid, I used the calm, firm, deeper voice and got the dog to come back to us and sit, when the owner couldn't (he sounded like he was pleading with his dog!) That naughty hound was bothering a couple having a picnic, but I clicked my fingers, gave her a command, and was amazed that it worked, so was her owner. PRIVATE small dogs can also inflict a lot of damage too though. Because they are not trained, theyre more like firecrackers with their aggression than large dogs, who people are usually more wary of. While a large dog would have a higher chance of inflicting death to an adult human, a small dog could do the same to a child. Its a shame many people cant see that though

I’m always surprised when I see people with dogs that bite. Or are snappy. I noticed by dog stiffening up and her hackles flaring all of a sudden with her food or a big treat and I immediately said heck no and have done all sorts of research and have started the work to work it out of her.

I've just discovered her channel. I absolutely love her training. I'm in the process of her online training course. When my 7 month old wakes up that is...lol I've started with 3 commands slowly. Stay sit and dukes.(shake a paw) he's doing quite well. But I need to get better treats. I would love to know what treats she uses. I'm thinking dried liver treats because my dogs love those.

    • @m.z.593

Since treats are kind of expensive and a bit like chocolate, really nice but not in large quantities, you can also use their kibble if you improve it a bit. For tips check this video m.ruclips.net/video/jUBFESLDSws/видео.html

Typical small dog syndrome. People bond to the dog and treat them like children, which only screws up the dogs more, because they know they are not children. It makes the dogs neurotic. Why you see such crazed small dogs, people don't tak the time to train them. They just baby them.
