Having raised four children in a foreign country, I encourage this sweet mom to speak all time to her child in German and have the child reply in German. They are two different skills (comprehension and speaking). It will be such a gift to this child to have both languages.
I agree completely! I was born in Austria. My mother (peruvian) spoke spanish to me and my father (austrian) german. Now I can speak german and spanish and I'm so greatful! I'm so happy to be able to comunicate with all my relatives!, 😊🌸
Yes plus it wil help her avoid getting a foreign accent in korean to hear korean from a native speaker. haha. That's what happened to an american lady living in Japan, her daughter spoke japanese with her accent. But babies can pick up languages so fast, they just need to hear it correctly a lot too.
