I think for me what showcases the power of ACE in OoT the most is Triforce% from SGDQ 2022. The fact that in combination with TASBot that ACE allowed that game to essentially be modded live (INCLUDING voice acting!) is absolutely insane.
Watching totk challenge runs is so much fun, they forget how to do a puzzle, so they just clip through the wal cause its easier than a puzzle made for children
I would think that for Wind Waker the obvious choice would be Storage, it is largely the defining glitch of every non-glitchless speedrun of that game for both general applications like enabling super swimming or enabling clipping/weird collision interactions with chest and door storage, as well as allowing you to skip certain cutscenes. Almost every glitched category has made heavy use of storage for years.
I think the better example of ACE in OoT would be the "beta content" exhibition during SGDQ 2022 where they programmed a tears of the kingdom teaser into OoT.
I agree with the pick for most broken glitch in Windwaker HD. It semi-replaced several glitches that were patched from the original by itself. Though it is also a bit scuffed to use because it is very easy to undershoot and get nowhere...or overshoot and land OOB where you void out...or super-overshoot where you just crash the WiiU. OOT3D has quite a few contenders for most broken glitch, but basically half of them are ironically(and sadly) not useful in speedruns because they are kinda slow. We have triple slash-put away that can clip through several relevant progression gates that were largely also skippable in the original, but where patched in some way. Restricted items(also in MM3D) that can lead to putting warp points everywhere(and wrongwarp) without putting Farore's thunderstorm on B, help you steal the rod, etc. Then you can also glitch other items on B and take them to a new file to sequence break everything and Back in time that can skip the DoT, help you reach the unused heartpieces and several more things.(These last two are the ones that are super broken, but sadly not useful for speedruns iirc) MM3D is the ESS-bottle dupe(Which is the only non-remake exclusive glitch that effectively got promoted to the "new most broken"-discussion because its competition got sent to the shadow realm) because it can effectively do nigh anything. Dayreset, triggering 4th day, wrongwarping, giving you fierce deity for free, bottle on B, etc. Just a lot of damage.
To those watching this video that somehow don't understand how Arbitrary Code Execution makes the possibility endless, what Arbitrary Code Execution, aka, ACE for short, can do, it allows a player to reprogram a game to their desired outcome, as long as it can handle it. So, no creation of something into OoT on the N64 that the N64 wouldn't be able to handle. Typically, ACE, you need a glitch or exploit to use it in a game, and OoT is no different. You need a glitch to use ACE in OoT. And there's some very impressive stuff you can make with ACE if you have a strong enough understanding how the game is programmed. Which, is not me. I only have a very vague understanding of programming in general. Mostly I just know of "scenarios" that can cause a game to crash. Calling upon an "actor" for a cutscene, that does not exist, for example.
i understand what ace is but this is a terrible example. 1. Reads like a bad video script 2. Could've been shortened to 2 sentences 3.Doesn't actually explain WHY the possibilities are almost endless, just says that they are
Titles it "most broken glitch in every Zelda game", only talks about 7 of the 19 mainline games... i would have loved hearing about glitches in the non-3D-games :-(

triforce% was crazy, i’m just a big fan of FrankerZ

great video! this summarizes everything really nicely, i really like how it's structured

I was hoping you'd get into the 2d games as well. Select warp, exploration, screen wrap, 2d glitches are fun and broken too!

Too confusing for a casual to understand probably... The dog on b in much more straight forward

I get why you went with what you did for Twilight Princess, but I think maybe you should have gone with LJA or CDN for that one.
JakeZSR, Wow, this made my day brighter! Thank you!

Whyd you make the screen so small throughout the whole vid? Kinda unnecessary. But other than that, good vid

this is just a part 1, i will cover the others in follow up videos
