    For the first time in my 80 years I have a huge back porch and I splurged on seeds, plants and potting soil but hopefully I’ll get the porch cleaned and arranged. There was a tall table left here I need to paint but until then a tablecloth will brighten it up. I will be decorating with bee decor and yellow green and red. The weather turned a bit too cool over night to work out there today. I can hardly wait. Oh the lady left me a baker’s rack, I painted hunter green, 3 Adirondack chairs plus a huge pot I painted yellow and a bbq grill. No pool but that’s ok she had roses and cannas in the yard which were beautiful when I moved in. Sorry this is so long but I’m so excited. Thanks for giving me some great ideas how to decorate the rack plus some things I already had. Thanks again.

    Great job!! All the hard work sure paid off!! The patio is so colorful and inviting. 😊 I live in zone 5b, and usually purchase a mix of annuals and perennial flowers. I "stuff" my pots full, as you do, but add liquid fertilizer at 1/2 strength to my watering, every 2 weeks. At the end of the season, the perennials are moved into the ground to rebloom next year. 🌼 🌹 🌸 - so much fun!! 😃 😊

      Yes, the fertilizer makes all the difference. And great idea on the perennials!

    I love your patio colours and plants - I also have a lot of blues and turquoise pots with purple or pink flowers ... or pink pots with blue flowers - and lots of greens.. it makes me so happy to look at them during the whole summer.. I also invest a small amount of money in flowers and pots but try to grow perennials and evergreens around them , great transformation , love your garden 😍🌺😍

    Amazing transformation, Especially love that white wicker table with the wood top and the yellow book table. And I know here in California plants are quite expensive , so I easily spend $200.00 every year on color and annuals.

I was able to save my gerber daisy's. I am all about 2nd hand too. My splurge this year was cushions, for my $5.00 chairs thst I got at a garage sale ladt fall.. Love your channel. ❤️

    I have been looking for small tables. I found one like your yellow one at auction, it wasn’t in anywhere near as good as condition as yours but , it was not painted and some veneer was lifting. Cost $50 at auction! Small tables are very pricey in my area. Before Covid I could’ve picked similar ones up at auction for about seven dollars. But I love that style of table because it gives me an area to put on my Bible and other study books that I want to have close at hand. Lucky you to get your table for free! Patio looks great.

I totally enjoyed seeing your husband and how you interact with another. Very nice. Question: do you overwinter your potted ferns and other perennials or plant them in your landscape?

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  Год назад +1

      Hi Sharon! Thank you! Yes, we did overwinter all 3 of our ferns successfully this year! I also tried to overwinter our hibiscus tree but by December it was eaten up with bugs 😩 I did not plant any of the perennials after last summer, but I have a new bed this year with space so I plan to do that :)

    • @sharonhendricks9706
      @sharonhendricks9706 Год назад

      @@LostFoundDecor good! I’m glad you’re planning to keep your perennials. I’m farther North of you….Joplin Mo-Columbus KS area and we tend to be a bit colder than you but I know y’all get some really cold winds and temps too. The hardest weather on perennials in pots is the freezing wind. Protecting the Pot (the root system) is important. You can even put them against a solid wall, mound them with leaves and even a couple of straw bales and you will be surprised at what all will survive and f you can’t get them into the ground in time. Good luck and I wanna see those filled-out plants! 😂

    I recently subscribed to your channel. I’m trying to figure out outdoor decor and gardening as we just moved from So. California to Idaho where we have had a lot of wind during spring and summer and our umbrellas blow over and cushions can blow over the yard, etc. are you in a gulf coast state or do you have colder, wet winters? Your patio and yard area is beautiful and so inviting. I for sure would enjoy hanging out there. My happy place😍

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  2 года назад

      That’s quite a move! We live in NW Arkansas, and do get a decent bit of wind, probably not as much as you do though. Although I did legit find one entire umbrella in the bottom of my pool last week 😂 That is why we take them down almost every evening though and store them up on the porch. Our winters are pretty wet and can get decently cold!

    • @LostFoundDecor
      @LostFoundDecor  2 года назад +1

      That’s in the future plans! It’s a small pool, and the cover that was here when we moved in was in very bad shape and with the landscaping around the pool, it was not easy to secure it. We would like to have a cover eventually the that clips to the rings installed in the ground. We have plans to re-do the landscaping and maybe when we are able to get that done we can get a better cover situation :) It’s one step at a time, you know?
