For the first time in my 80 years I have a huge back porch and I splurged on seeds, plants and potting soil but hopefully I’ll get the porch cleaned and arranged. There was a tall table left here I need to paint but until then a tablecloth will brighten it up. I will be decorating with bee decor and yellow green and red. The weather turned a bit too cool over night to work out there today. I can hardly wait. Oh the lady left me a baker’s rack, I painted hunter green, 3 Adirondack chairs plus a huge pot I painted yellow and a bbq grill. No pool but that’s ok she had roses and cannas in the yard which were beautiful when I moved in. Sorry this is so long but I’m so excited. Thanks for giving me some great ideas how to decorate the rack plus some things I already had. Thanks again.
woohoo! So glad!
Great job!! All the hard work sure paid off!! The patio is so colorful and inviting. 😊 I live in zone 5b, and usually purchase a mix of annuals and perennial flowers. I "stuff" my pots full, as you do, but add liquid fertilizer at 1/2 strength to my watering, every 2 weeks. At the end of the season, the perennials are moved into the ground to rebloom next year. 🌼 🌹 🌸 - so much fun!! 😃 😊
Yes, the fertilizer makes all the difference. And great idea on the perennials!
I am a new subscriber and love your patio redo…I watched another influencer who indicated that showed outdoor space with a true lack of comfort and warmth that your showed…enjoy your patio and backyard space!
Thank so much! I appreciate the sub and so glad you enjoyed it :)
This weekend!!
I am new to your channel. Your back patio is Absolutely Beautiful. I Love your flowers. I just Love my back patio that definitely is my Happy place. Thank you for sharing this with us. So until next time God Bless you and your family and have a Blessed Sunday and stay safe my dear and Special Friend.
Thank you Joan!
Just had to jump back on here and say: the plants are one of my favorite parts too & your pots and the Jasmine are beautiful! Isn't it fun to see the dramatic change you can make to a space a little elbow grease, and simple DIY projects?!
Absolutely!
If plants make you happy! Its worth spending a few coins!!! Enjoy them! I splurge on my plants too. 😊
Absolutely!!
I love your patio colours and plants - I also have a lot of blues and turquoise pots with purple or pink flowers ... or pink pots with blue flowers - and lots of greens.. it makes me so happy to look at them during the whole summer.. I also invest a small amount of money in flowers and pots but try to grow perennials and evergreens around them , great transformation , love your garden 😍🌺😍
Thank you Kitty!
Amazing transformation, Especially love that white wicker table with the wood top and the yellow book table. And I know here in California plants are quite expensive , so I easily spend $200.00 every year on color and annuals.
Thank you! The price of plants does seem to have really jumped up a lot since the start of the pandemic. For awhile there was even a shortage!
The puppy even looked like he/she was enjoying the space! Great video!
Thanks! Yes, he loves the sun
A credit to your labor.
Very attractive with a holiday flair.
Lovely! It looks so welcoming.
Thank you! 😊
Looks great!
new to your channel love this video love the pops of blue i have subscribed and im excited to see more
Thanks so much Katrina!
Hi!! This is my first time visiting your channel. I really enjoyed the content. The over all view reveal is so beautiful. The potted plants are really pretty. Enjoy the blessings of the Lord and have a great season!!
It looks fantastic! I love how you marry all the colors together... So bright and cheerful! I love my porch too, especially first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee and my Bible.
Absolutely! Sounds wonderful :)
I love this space (and that thrifted table) plus pup helping was super cute
He loves it when we’re outside 😊
Fun watching you refresh your patio! It's a beautiful spot, I see why you love it! 😊
Thanks Diane!
Love the little yellow table
Looks great! I love all the pops of turquoise that tie the whole thing together. That yellow climbing flower is my favorite, I just did a refresh to my patio as well and would love to add one of those!
Thanks so much! Turquoise with the pool water just kinda makes me feel like I’m at the beach 😊 I had really great luck with that jasmine in a large planter on my patio in our last house, I believe they’re pretty hardy. Hope you can find some to add in to your space as well!
The patio look beautiful , I love the way you use oh you have that is good ideas, to save money .
Love your patio...It is gorgeous❤ Love your thrifted finds, and just your patio decor. Looks cozy and comfortable. I have a screened porch and that's my happy place"love" your porch sign,too...Hardworking always reveals good results. Thank you both for sharing, enjoy your place it is gorgeous....Have a blessed and fabulous day❤😊
Thanks so much Darlene!
May I suggest a garden shed to keep all the garden items.
Thank you Carol :) We do have one shed, probably could use a slightly larger one :)
Moving the wicker table was such an amazing transformation 😍
Loved your porch...my back deck is my happy place too. I was able to save a lot of my annual flowers last year by putting them in the garage, with very watering over the winter. I was able to save my gerber daisy's. I am all about 2nd hand too. My splurge this year was cushions, for my $5.00 chairs thst I got at a garage sale ladt fall.. Love your channel. ❤️
That’s great on saving your annuals! I have tried to overwinter a few things with never much luck 😩 But maybe I’ll try again this year!
Sent over from Rachel. Subbed. Love the Refresh/Makeover!
Thanks so much Nelli!
Good morning, Melanie!
Absolutely loved your video! I'm with you, your back patio is a fantastic space. I totally agree with the upcycle/thrift combined with the splurge! Thank you for joining me in this collab!
So glad to! Thanks for the invitation :)
Coming from Stone Cottage Home. I love the turquoise touches throughout. That is my "happy" color! I also like your yellow table as is. The fountain on your pool is calling my name. 😊
Thanks so much for your kind words and for stopping by!
I would love you to share your barn quilt pattern! Your porch is so warm and cozy and inviting. It’s just beautiful and I love the flowers
Hi Jody! This is the pattern I used :) This book walks you through the whole process, I swapped out yellow for the red lostandfounddecor.shop/products/nordic-star-pattern-barn-quilt
Cute video wish I had a nice patio love the flowers not time yet here to put mine out ...we have a few more weeks the way the crazy weather has been...just started watching your videos.
This space looks so relaxing Melanie! Thanks for inspiring me to clean up our porch!
Thanks Cindy! It does take some inspiration to get going sometimes, doesn’t it? It was a lot of work but we are really enjoying the benefits of it now :)
Absolutely beautiful, you are very creative. Thank you for all the tips
Thank you Lucy!
New subscriber! I love your back yard patio! The brick on my home is the same color as yours. I love my brick home! I love your little boy, I raised 5 boys, they are my heart! I hope you had a wonderful Mothers Day! 🌷🌷🌷
Thanks Terry! We have 3 boys, they’re so fun! But also kinda crazy 😂
That looks great good job.
Great jog on the transformation
Thank you so much 😀
I have been looking for small tables. I found one like your yellow one at auction, it wasn’t in anywhere near as good as condition as yours but , it was not painted and some veneer was lifting. Cost $50 at auction! Small tables are very pricey in my area. Before Covid I could’ve picked similar ones up at auction for about seven dollars. But I love that style of table because it gives me an area to put on my Bible and other study books that I want to have close at hand. Lucky you to get your table for free! Patio looks great.
Wow! Yes, that does seem pricey for a small table. I agree though, furniture in general has gone way up! Thanks so much for watching :)
Beautiful !!! Love your finds I love thrift stores too you did a great job
Thank you so much!
I love love how the transformation came out and the colors you used. We bought our house 4 yrs ago, I have yet to anything with our patio as I want it covered first. If you don't mind, what is the size of the covered part of your patio?
Gave me some great ideas!!
Awesome! So glad :) Thanks for watchinh
Great job
Love your space. What an awesome large lot!!
Yes, we are super grateful for it! The one thing we really wanted after being cooped up in our a tiny Texas yard with 3 boys… those boys need room to roam!
It's so inviting and lovely
Thanks Sally!
You have a beautiful patio so envious I don't have a pool GOD BLESS Love Ana.😇🥰😍
Thank you Ana! We have never had one and weren’t planning on it ever, but then we found this house 3 years ago when we moved to Arkansas and were excited to see one was already there. We feel very blessed!
You could decant your turquoise color miracle grow into a clear plastic jar. It would go with your color scheme. Ha ha I’m into the decorating details🤪
Love it! That’s a great idea
Absolutley amazing and beautiful looks like vacation home
Thanks so much Eunice! That was the vibe I was going for, a place where we can get away from the hustle and bustle and really feel like we’re on a retreat
Rachel from @StoneCottageHome referred me to your channel and I just subscribed to your channel too. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
Awesome! Thank you!
Love!❤️
Thanks Wendy!
Wow, Melanie! This is the first time I've seen the OUTSIDE efforts of your house, and I love it. Envious too....I want a real porch, and I really want it covered.....maybe someday. I totally enjoyed seeing your husband and how you interact with another. Very nice. Question: do you overwinter your potted ferns and other perennials or plant them in your landscape?
Hi Sharon! Thank you! Yes, we did overwinter all 3 of our ferns successfully this year! I also tried to overwinter our hibiscus tree but by December it was eaten up with bugs 😩 I did not plant any of the perennials after last summer, but I have a new bed this year with space so I plan to do that :)
@@LostFoundDecor good! I’m glad you’re planning to keep your perennials. I’m farther North of you….Joplin Mo-Columbus KS area and we tend to be a bit colder than you but I know y’all get some really cold winds and temps too. The hardest weather on perennials in pots is the freezing wind. Protecting the Pot (the root system) is important. You can even put them against a solid wall, mound them with leaves and even a couple of straw bales and you will be surprised at what all will survive and f you can’t get them into the ground in time. Good luck and I wanna see those filled-out plants! 😂
Lovely 😍
Thanks Louise!
Looks really nice. 🌺
Thank you!
Amazing 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Beautiful
Thanks so much!
Hi im new to your channel and I have come across from rachel from stonecottage home
Thanks so much for stopping by Tracey!
Very NICE Enjoy
Thanks for liking!
Very nice!
Thanks Janet!
I recently subscribed to your channel. I’m trying to figure out outdoor decor and gardening as we just moved from So. California to Idaho where we have had a lot of wind during spring and summer and our umbrellas blow over and cushions can blow over the yard, etc. are you in a gulf coast state or do you have colder, wet winters? Your patio and yard area is beautiful and so inviting. I for sure would enjoy hanging out there. My happy place😍
That’s quite a move! We live in NW Arkansas, and do get a decent bit of wind, probably not as much as you do though. Although I did legit find one entire umbrella in the bottom of my pool last week 😂 That is why we take them down almost every evening though and store them up on the porch. Our winters are pretty wet and can get decently cold!
New sub , may I ask where you garden? You did a great job refreshing your patio, great backyard area, I’m jealous
Hi Amy! Thanks for the sub :) We live in NW Arkansas, my veggie garden is over on the west side of my house. We were super blessed to find this house when we moved to the area 3 years ago. Prior to that, our yard was tiny! We need the space with 3 boys 😂
Where could I buy the watering can pillow? So cute!
Hi Jann! I got it at Target, but it was several years ago :(
Do you get any grief for painting the grass. I do spray paint a lot. And I have rainbow grass. Is the gazebo yours. Do you decorate it?
Lol… no, our backyard is pretty much all weeds, so that will grow quickly and get cut out in no time :) The gazebo is ours, but my husband hates it and wants it gone! We would like to build a true fire pit and deck there, maybe next year’s project?
@@LostFoundDecor sorry I would love to have one
maybe you should cover your pool
That’s in the future plans! It’s a small pool, and the cover that was here when we moved in was in very bad shape and with the landscaping around the pool, it was not easy to secure it. We would like to have a cover eventually the that clips to the rings installed in the ground. We have plans to re-do the landscaping and maybe when we are able to get that done we can get a better cover situation :) It’s one step at a time, you know?
Her patio looks like yours
Hello new to your channel. Such a big beautiful cozy space. Hello lil doggie. Aahhhhhh your dog is so cute. My cat is all white with a lil black on his tail. What's your dogs name and is it a boy or girl? Ill be watching thanks for sharing.
Hi Tresa! His name is Geebo (he came with the name when we adopted him 😊) and he’s a boy. Such a great little dog!
Where do you live, on Venus? All that sunscreen...
Lol. We have 3 pasty white boys who go through this stuff like crazy during the summer because they basically live in the pool.
No one can afford these prices!
Looks great!
