Bro when I wanted to start skateboarding I searched up skateboarding in RUclips and I found your channel the videos weren’t only helpful they were entertaining so I just wanted to say thank you for showing me how to skate.
One tip: dont worry about wearing a helmet or a hella lot of pads cuz it will help when learning to drop in or something. My first try i fell back flat on my back and my hand/ elbow pads were grazed a lot. Saved some pain

I don't call people out when I see them push Mongo or anything like that but I think it's discouraged for a reason. I don't think it looks dumb, but it is more difficult and and unoptimal l, especially when it comes to running starts. It's super easy to fall of when ur throwing down Mongo

My local sk8 park is right next to an apartment building. People hang out on their balconies and laugh when I fall. It's so embarrassing and discouraging.
Don’t pay attention to those dickheads, they probably can’t even maintain their balance on a skateboard let alone actually ride one so just ignore them. They’ll see your progression and at some point your progression will shut them up. It’s a motivator. I’m 31, haven’t skated in about 15-16y and just now getting back into it because of my 5yo son, we’ve all been through those things. Flip the switch in your head and use all that as a motivator to keep improving and keep pushing.
Dude valuable!!! I have problems trying to throw down board keeps bouncing. And even more so since I got cruiser wheels. Easter I’m gonna put my park wheels back on and try stuff out. Just our basketball court is so rough.

Just go. Fellow skaters will help each other out at some point. They see you showing up regularly putting in the effort, they’ll acknowledge that and help you however they can. Shy/nervous? Let that be the first thing they’ll help you get rid of by simply being honest about it. The more honest you are about anything the more chance you’ll get to receive help. Sooner or later you’ll have people walking up to you going hey brother how you doin. Skaters, we’re about the most easygoing types of people around as we all know we’ve all been there in that spot. The dickheads in the community are the ones eventually getting left behind.

It’s because you’re too focused on not falling. Falling is a part of it, embrace it and keep pushing. Loosen up those hips, do some wavy groovy riding on streets/parks and you’ll become a smooth bastard. Most people who stay stiff haven’t focused enough on the riding part and manoeuvring around the park/street.
That’s because they don’t know what they’re talking about. Some of the best skaters in the world skate goofy. I think it’s about 46% skates goofy vs 54% skating regular, based on a recent poll/study/whatever
