Non recyclable packaging such pizza boxes can be compressed into biomass pellets that can also be turned into natural gas via gasification. Seaweed from which oil has been extracted can also be compressed into biomass pellets that can be turned into biochar to be used in coal plants or the biomass pellets can be used as cattle feed to reduce land use to raise cattle. This would save shipping costs from buying coal from somewhere else. Fossil energy can no longer compete with solar and wind on a cost basis.
