I feel like this is a direct response to Seeks-Her-Job subjecting an entire Security Department to spontaneous combustion yesterday. They thought I was just a bad thief when really I was swapping their PDA pens. Round #1101 (entire security is an exaggeration, it was only 3 officers but enough to traumatize the rest)
fun fact: due to how embeds work, there is a "chance" that the pen explodes on a tile adjacent to the person its attached to That causes it to barely deal any damage
I had a round as HoP where to get close to me to be easy to hit a passenger asked me how to use a pen. It connected but did not deal that much damage due to me wearing a salv hardsuit due to other situations at hand, so they finished me off as I scrambled for comms. However the baffling part was when medical revived me instead of waiting to try again he ran in and tried to kill me again, right in front of HoS and 2 officers. Needless to say he did not make it Centcom unrestrained.
kinda learned the hard way what metagaming even is so now i just pretend i have bad memory which i dont have to pretend cause i dont have silverhand tumor in my head
Sneak away someone’s PDA, put a signaler linked explosive pen into it, and give the PDA back to them saying “hey, I found this in maints.” Unless your target is a lawyer or a head, normal people don’t use the pen much, so it will likely just sit in there and you have a way to down them at the push of a button.
I remember my first encoutner with an exploding pen. I was playing CMO and some madlad threw the pen across the medbay right into me. Due to the staff not knowing what was going on i died and rotted in a corner of medbay. Best CMO shift i ever had.
Yesterday I was being a brigmed while a dragon was in sec. I was dying from airloss and pressure so i backed away as the mime that was stalking me most of the shift hit me with the pen nade, flushed me down dispos into a emagged recycler. A cog hamlet and jani saw and were just like "wicked" and watched. The day before that, sec was bombed and i found a epen on the floor and had to give it to sec.
Because somebody at Syndie HQ saw a box labelled 'detonator pens' and complained to the R&D department that they looked nothing like pens... I didn't think of using them as explosive darts, though!
Does the pen embed into structures like glass? If so, what kind of structural damage does it produce, enough to cause a spacing? Could be used in a distraction role by just tossing at a window and turning the room into a vacuum.
MY STRAT RELEASED! NOOOO. But a question how you get your UI to look like how it is in your gameplay videos? Like the list with numbers instead of the grid and your clothes permanently at the bottom of your screen.
I did some testing and really the only syndicate stuff you can is pretty much just the pen bomb and the C4, you can link things like grenades, maybe crafted modular ones
so this is a rework if i remember correctly because before it worked like c4 but it was just had so small damage no one ever used it so most didn't know of its existance
all the updates in this game come down to one thing. FUCKING UPDATE OF THE UPLINK AND ITS THINGS. When will there finally be an update to expand the station's departments? especially since a newbie playing as an antagonist for the first time in his life will not understand the essence of the things that were added there BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY OF THEM. That's why I hate playing as antagonists. There are already three videos dedicated to this uplink update, my God...
"Oh these aren't Nanotran made, they were made in a syndicate factory. A bomb factory. They're bombs."
- Some clueless agent
its a pen that explodes
I have a hypothesis that it explodes
no way😱
holy shit
I am still confused. Extreme amounts of clarification required. Please clarify.
@@thebadman6169 it's a pen, that explodes-combusts into multiple pieces, possibly harming or killing people or animals.
Fun Fact: Penbombs fit in cigarette cartons. I never thought to take away a syndicates pack of Nomads when I arrested one, and it did not end well.

I need to see a recording of that round
that sounds hilarious
round #?
The timing on this video couldn't be better
@@baddiepro5471 Round number is 1101 on Harmony
tip: give it so someone and whisper "energy dagger"
Evil! But hilarious

"hey would you like to sign this petition to give the clown AA?"
easiest kill/maroon greentext I ever got.
ooh thats good
The pen is mightier than the sword. Because it is a bomb..and also a pen.
"exploding pen can be metagamed"
nice liltenhead called out the contribs again
Playing in the medbay and switching your target's pen to this then remote detonating it when they are crit again is really funny
kinda learned the hard way what metagaming even is
so now i just pretend i have bad memory which i dont have to pretend cause i dont have silverhand tumor in my head
What I'm hearing is always use your own pen whenever possible to avoid le explodification
Actually fuck pens, stick to crayons.
They taste way better anyways!

Yup this has been my go to the last few rounds, works like a charm. Can have up to 4 pens and thief gloves
I ruined my traitor run because i didnt trigger it first xd
oof
I remember when these were first added and a few people would throw normal pens at the HoP to scare them
1.Buy several pens
2.Find a network thingy
3.Buy thieving gloves
4.link them all together
5.Replace the the pens in people's PDAs
6.Fireworks!

These are super tiny and subtle so you can easily drop them under someone who's standing still and they'll have no idea what happened
Oo new vid!
Lilpenhe- *screams*
pen after pen

I didn't think of using them as explosive darts, though!
I remember picking one up off the ground and clicking it wondering why it said activities then I found out pretty quickly why.
"btw theres an epen in my pda"
*YES!!! I AM INVINCIBLE!!!*
(Somebody had to say it.)
What if you give it to somebody without realizing and they try writing with it then just explode
On Goob every pen does 3 pierce on throw, you can't metagame them due to that.

Can you switch with someone’s pen so they put it back into their PDA that you can then remote detonate?
I have idea. Place this pen library, hop or give i mime
even without the throwing/damage indicator sec will press z on pens for no reason an meta game the hell out of people anyway. good ol roleplay
That's... not a very good way to check for an explosive, because if it is, you will have 4 seconds to get it off of you

500 hours and i havent seen a single person use this
i dont know how

None of this is new, it has been in game for quite awhile.
Is the next update also adding some unnecessary crap to the uplink?
Brutha this has been in the game for like a year...
