Maybe Shanghai is a bit different / more modern than the rest of Mainland, but these girls you interviewed are ESPECIALLY reasonable compared to the popular majority in China. I'm not trying to trash on China, but the average Chinese woman will expect the male partner to pay for expenses when going out or doing stuff together, and that's the reality of the situation. It gets way more demanding in a marriage situation, where the male partner (and his family) are expected to provide a house (or at least a down payment), a car, pay for the wedding, gift a set of 24K gold jewelery, and provide a large sum of cash (roughly translated as "bride price") to the bride's family. Thats mainly because in China there is not really a good protection on woman if they divorced with the husband. At the beginning of dating, it's better for either men or lady to take the initiative and generously pay the whole bill. The advantage of doing is to express one's affection, satisfaction, and respect for the other one, while also being courteous. Ultimately, it's about winning their affection. But clever people, whether male or female, know a fundamental truth: there's no such thing as a free lunch. In a long-run good relationship, it's essential that both parties contribute. If only one side is giving endlessly while the other contributes nothing, the relationship is doomed to be short-lived. Naturally, if the man is always the one paying, the lady will inevitably need to give in other ways.
This has nothing to do with gender or nationality but rather aligns with practical norms. I am a man, and if someone invites me to a gathering-whether it’s a man or a woman-they cannot expect me to split the bill. Around the world, it is customary for the person who extends the invitation to cover the expenses, unless it’s a casual lunch with colleagues or classmates.

Exactly, and if it's continued to marriage life (assuming the dating relationship works) like do we need to split the household bills equally too? And how much you gonna pay your wife for being pregnant and giving birth to your child, or what was the arrangements? Do you guys want to split the hospital delivery fee equally too? Or if one partner sick and can't no longer work for some period of time, should we just leave them? Since he/she can't equally participated in 50:50 right. Shanghai. More specifically, all recorded in the area around Wukang Rd. in Xuhui District. This is one of Shanghai's most fashionable areas to visit on the weekend: Old colonial-style French buildings, little boutiques, cafes, restaurants, leafy tree-lined streets, wine bars.....
If it is a date, the guy should pay if he really likes her. I think it shows respect and effort. Now, if the girl likes the guy and appreciated his effort, I think she should pay for coffee and dessert afterwards at a cafe.
same with vietnamese culture, we guys generally prefer to pay for the girls that we are interest in...and vice versa, once the guy pay for the dinner, the girls often offer to pay for movies or something else. Unlike the US, not all, but the ones that expect the guys to pay for everything even though they aren't married or anything like that, those belong to the trash bin.
They are just saying nice things in front of the camera. In reality, when couples date in China, it's usually the man who pays. When it comes to marriage, the man is expected to provide a substantial dowry, and it's mostly the man who bears the cost of buying a house and a car. Moreover, China's current marriage laws are very biased in favor of women, and judges also tend to side with them. In divorce cases, men should be prepared to lose a significant portion of their assets.
If you have a woman making $5000 a month, and a man making $2000 a month, then maybe the woman should find a man that also makes $5000 a month? Is that what love is? Finding someone in the same pay scale as you? Might as well be a feudal society.
Chinese women are very practical or they call it "realistic" and that's being nice because gold digging there is as old as time except their digging is far more sophisticated and undetectable than most women in other countries.
then they are gonna whine about how ppl are all about money if you're looking for someone with the same economic status. If being able to pay 50/50 is such a high priority that you need to put financial status as a top critieria and eliminate 80% of your social circle, then ppl like that should just hire a prostitute . You can never win with these penny pinchers.
As a Native Dutchman i can assure you that the phrase Going Dutch means literally nothing anymore. we are way too americanized for that. we guys have to pay for literally everything here. the only thing we dont pay is the bill if we go out for drinks with friends. we do split the bill often. but on Dates? yeah no its the guy who pays.
@@Go4Broke247 i am a guy but i have different meanings of a Gentlemen is. its not paying for a dinner thats for sure. people can make their own money and pay for their own food right? why should we as a guy have to do that literally never made sense to me.
As a woman, I'm overthought about this. I have ego and independent enough, so I want to go 50/50 all the time. But, I know that men want to have more power as a "man", so woman needs to be wise to feed them ego and self-esteem so that men will like us. Imagine the situation when a man shows off to pay and a date keeps denying, he will feel less and not connected, honestly feel like cannot give so cannot take. I believe women can take care of ourselves these days, we just let men feel good by doing this.
I personally don't agree with 50/50, I think it cheapens the relationship, instead I think it's best if you pay this time and I will pay next time in full, with the amounts not having to exactly match up, it is more symbolic than anything.
Of course they would say that on camera. but they prob are unhappy with guys who split with them, leading to no 2nd dates, which also harms themselves bc they could have lost out on a great guy. also, saying that the person who asked the other out should pay makes no sense. the reason is bc girls never take the initiative- never. so by default the guys must always pay.
I mean if a girl doesn't have money how is she going to split the bill with you? 😂 The problem is in the past men could have jobs that could support their wives and a family. That's not possible anymore. At least not to the expectations of current day people. You have to be in the top percent of people to be able to do that. And not every guy can be in the top percent of people.
FYI - There are a lot of Chinese women who are millionaires. But those do tend to stay within their own race. Also, with the term "Go-Dutch," do Dutch women really do even spits after a meal?

All relationship is about understanding and balance really, if you strictly fight for equal with your partner or constantly being reminded about it. Then reconsider your relationship,
When divorce split the kid too😏😏😏😏😏

Which city is this in China?
Unlike the US, not all, but the ones that expect the guys to pay for everything even though they aren't married or anything like that, those belong to the trash bin.

the last think women have rights to say no while bill paid by men is compulsory
They are just saying nice things in front of the camera. In reality, when couples date in China, it's usually the man who pays. When it comes to marriage, the man is expected to provide a substantial dowry, and it's mostly the man who bears the cost of buying a house and a car. Moreover, China's current marriage laws are very biased in favor of women, and judges also tend to side with them. In divorce cases, men should be prepared to lose a significant portion of their assets.
Thats the traditional way. These were all very young women. Things change
Just be natural and not calculative for a relationship to work. Give and take.
Heng shan lu?
To be honest, I don't like it when people pay for my food. I like to pay for everyone's meal, it feels wrong not to do so. XD
0:30 she makes me want to learn Chinese!
1:26 Future wife if she wants to come live in Quebec, Canada!
if you don't want to split it , you can pay it all.
Give what you have will set you free (he/she then can say you love money more than me)
Just that they probably wont show up on the second date...
Learn something new everyday. Especially Dutch.
@@metalvideos1961 are you a gentlemen?
@@Go4Broke247 i am a guy but i have different meanings of a Gentlemen is. its not paying for a dinner thats for sure. people can make their own money and pay for their own food right? why should we as a guy have to do that literally never made sense to me.
dating expenses for their seafood, its sound and fair.

婚前,財產何分,無所不可。婚後,財產共享,不分你我,此乃真合。
I personally don't agree with 50/50, I think it cheapens the relationship, instead I think it's best if you pay this time and I will pay next time in full, with the amounts not having to exactly match up, it is more symbolic than anything.
Of course they would say that on camera. but they prob are unhappy with guys who split with them, leading to no 2nd dates, which also harms themselves bc they could have lost out on a great guy. also, saying that the person who asked the other out should pay makes no sense. the reason is bc girls never take the initiative- never. so by default the guys must always pay.
I have a face!😂
I think she meant goodlooking.
Smart girls. They don’t show their real Greediness on camera.
lol for real.all women are the same😂
Men should always pay for their date period at least I do
Simp
What is a simp?
Who are you to make that rule for man
i have no idea why some women with low self worth are happy to tolerate cheap men
0:12 thinks she's sly... guy pays for the travel expenses and she pays meals lol!! I wish there were a way to see people this honestly as they reveal in these interviews. You can quickly know who never to hang out with based on what they think about this topic. It's not a matter of preference, but one of class. Low class individuals will have a tendency to do as little as possible - including not paying their share when going out. Leave them to the streets!
I have been to Shanghai a few times for business trips. Obviously the American youtube commentators only know about Shanghai from Jackie Chan's Shanghai Noon. If you go Guizhou, Chongqing, Kunming, etc, the girls there will treat the guys. Shanghai? Oh.... Please visit Shanghai instead of watching Jackie's Shanghai noon or youtube Shanghai. Shanghainese are very self-assured (I use a more subtle term in place of "arrogant") they tend to think they are superior amongst the other Chinese countrymen and.. very cunning.. after all.. Any wise person will not say go "Dutch" in front of the camera.. not the Shanghainess especially. Anyway, want to date a girl, expect to pay. "No money, no honey -> not in Shanghai" Wake up dudes.
I don't know why this thing is on my youtube recommendations. But I have a Filo Chinese Girlfriend all I can say is she pay for food sometimes when were on a date and in our anniversary she always bought me something for me too. I am just lucky to have her cuz. I have a friend who also has chinese girlfriend before he just got robbed after spending all his money her gf also gone lol.
what mean "as long as he has a face"?
应该是脸长得好看的意思
I loved the sincerity and practicality of Asian women. These women clearly don’t put money as the most vital factor in their dating lives. It’s good to see absolutely BEAUTIFUL women be so down to earth. All potential marriage mates. This is why men here in the west are getting passports. ❤
我也覺得男生應該要付錢,不應該由女生出錢,這樣的話男生才有發言權😂
Women are more educated and independent now, mentality have changed, not many expect men to pay for their own stuff unless youre a spoiled princess.

I'd be mad too if everything must be split totally equal cuz it's actually very hard to count every damn thing
You divide by 2 bro………
@@moonknight4053 and if we go out on a date and i order more food than her and actually eat more than her, should we still divide by 2? I'd rather pay for her, plus, it's gonna make me look good anyway
@@wallaceling6140 Then you can pay her abit extra? It’s not hard bro. You don’t have to impress to the point where she’s treated like a princess! Paying constantly for everything isn’t good. You deserve the same treatment then if we’re going by logic and common generosity
@@moonknight4053 i hear you man, and i think it has to be mutual too, but like maybe she can then treat me to the movies or sth else, it is like i pay for the dinner date, and she pays for the movie date. i would feel bad about her too if I'm the only one contributing. but quite honestly, my silly worthless male ego would still want to pay at least a bit more than her overall LOL call me old fashioned for that😂
i don't think anybody expect you to pull out calculator i don't even do that with my male friends but if i paid for date and we go on second one you better at least offer to pay it
For guys, get to third base ASAP and get what you'd pay for.
Men always treat first apparently lol.
As a man if you invite a woman out you pay. It’s up to you for a man to set up a second meeting base on what you sensed on the first one. If you feel used with no chances why waste time, move on to another one, and if not what you expect better be alone than used. Beauty does not entitle to abuse people around you.
No why is that automatic? I violently disagree no one elected you king of the world to make rules for all men.
所以女人如果觉得自己是受害者,那最好自己一个人,而不是被害。停止你对男人的规训,管好你自己。
As a man you are assuming too much that the woman would go out with you the first time as a date who expected you to pay everything and not merely just as friends and good company and in which case she might be the one who prefers to split the bill and draw a boundary. Welcome to the 21st century.
I think this person gave their opinion as much as any person in the video. No one has to agree as I didn't agree with many responses, but I am not criticizing their way of thinking for being different of mine. I think you guys should respect this person's opinon and give your own opinion.
I didn't see it as a lecture.
