A Visit to the Local Recycling Center...

- Today was my first day of spring break. My original filming plans for today didn't work out, so I was kinda bummed. I went to go grab some lunch at Burger King, and then was going to head home. But for some reason, I felt compelled to swing by the recycling center first. When I got there, the guy working the front area remembered me from when me and Shane came and filmed here a couple years ago. Unfortunately, I had just missed the Dempster Recycle One's dumping their final load of the day, but the workers were kind enough to let me hang out for the afternoon and film a mobile document shredding truck unloading, a Waste Management front-loader unloading newspaper and magazines collected from public drop boxes, as well as some of the equipment around the recycle center. Tomorrow I will be filming a Dempster Recycle One doing commercial recycling, and the guys at the recycle center are letting me come back tomorrow to film the Dempsters unloading too!

Thanks dude! That front-loader was on an all-paper run. All that stuff was from public Newspaper & Magazine drop boxes that are scattered all over Kennewick and Richland

Was cool watching that front loader ejecting, much more interesting when you can see the blade making it's way to the back. Nice footage!

How can you tell if an FL lifts up to dump the trash or if it uses an ejecter panel?
I am thinking of going to this field of work one day, what do u think i should be majoring on when i go to College? i wanna start a waste recycling business or even just trying to manage a recycling company, or anything that has to do with this line of work. Anyone? give me an idea to start.
Jake N I would recommend starting out with a company for a few years then when you have the money you can start a Location and company.

the first truck: if all that paper was put into big bags you could have over 6 times more in the truck and would not spill as much when unloading and then turn of your engine when unloading so you don't stand in those diesel fumes
Bags can't be recycled with the paper; especially if they were plastic.
