    I went ahead and made some written instructions for myself to refer to and thought I would post them here since a few people asked. I hope I got all the steps right!😬
    1st color is the top of the pill. 2nd color is the bottom.

    Rnd 1: MR+ 6 single crochets around the ring [6]
    Tighten magic ring a bit, not completely. We will be slip stitching in the back loop of the 1st single crochet in rnd 1 - the 1st single crochet of round 2 will be in the same stitch space under both loops. Hook under back loop, pick up yarn, slip it through both loops on your hook. Each round will begin with a slip stitch (slst) into the back loop of the 1st single crochet from previous round. The round will then start with a single crochet in the same space under BOTH loops. This keeps the stitches straight and the color change without a “step.”
    Rnd 2: inc x 6 [12]
    Rnd 3: slst, (sc, inc) x 6 [18]
    Rnd 4: slst, (2 sc, inc) x 6 [24]
    Rnd 5-12: slst, sc around [24]
    Check for 12 rounds - Trim yarn.

    Undo join and last stitch in Rnd 12. Join new color with a single knot to the yarn tail. SC last stitch of round 12, pull new color through last 2 loops. Slst with new color, tie a knot in the yarn tails to keep knot from slipping and trim excess. The next round works in the back loops only to create a smooth transition line between colors.
    Rnd 13: slst, chain 1 (counts as the 1st stitch), then sc around in back loops only [24]
    Rnd 14-18: slst, sc around again using both loops [24]
    Flip the “pill” so the first color is on the top. Add safety eyes/stitching in the front. The back will be where the join seam is. A good position for the eyes is 2 rounds down into the second color, 6 stitches apart. Embroider any other details you want to add. Stuff about 2/3 full.
    Rnd 19-21: slst. sc around w/ slst at beginning for each round [24]
    Rnd 22: slst, (2 sc, 1 dec) x 6 [18]
    Rnd 23: slst, (1 sc, 1 dec) x 6 [12]
    Add the last bit of filling so you can close up the pill.
    Rnd 24: 6 dec [6]
    Trim yarn and pull through. Leave enough tail to sew up end. Use a darning needle or hook to pull the yarn through each of the 6 stitches in the last round. Pull on the yarn tail to close the hole, hide tail into the pill, and trim excess.

      Does the slip stitch count as a stitch for the rounds? Or d o we just ignore it and not count it?

    are there different kinds of embroidery cotton size-wise?

    • @makeitwithalex4483
      @makeitwithalex4483  2 года назад +1

      Hi. Most embroidery cottons are made up of 6 single strands which you can use as one thread or you can separate and make your own combination of strands (eg. 2 or 3). When sewing features onto crocheted items i generally use the 6 threads together, but you can also use yarn or even tapestry thread. Hope that helps :)

    I tried to make this but every time I end up with more stitches each round. Am I doing something wrong when I do the s/s and then the first stitch of the next round? Am I starting in the wrong place from the first row as I seem to end up in the wrong place?

      Hi. It really depends on the yarn you use and the look you are going for. I think I used a 10 or 12 mm size which is 5/8 to 1/2 inch

    • @makeitwithalex4483
      @makeitwithalex4483  3 года назад +1

      Hi. To be honest I can say as it really depends on the yarn type and size and hook size, but I would think 1 skein of 2 colours would be heaps

    I saw this and waited a bit to start, just watched the first couple times, and then when I finally started on it I got to the part for the color change and noticed that I somehow got 36 stitches instead of 24. It's probably a mistake on my part though, considering I don't use a stitch marker. But I'm not sure hat I could've done wrong.

    By doing a slip stitch dont you make an extra chain?

    • @makeitwithalex4483
      @makeitwithalex4483  3 года назад +2

      Hi there. No, when you slip stitch to the back loop of a stitch you are simply joining the end of the row to the beginning to the same row. Then you single crochet into the SAME stitch but under the front and back loop as you would do normally. The slip stitch is just a join. I hope that helps but comment if you need further help :)

    • @gigahorse1475

      I think it’s a common pattern and would be considered general knowledge. I don’t think this RUclipsr created the pill design. However, I think if you copied the more unique pill designs (like the sleeping one with the moon), that might be a problem. I’m not a legal expert but those are just my thoughts.
