Your best reaction so far. I loved your personal feelings about it. And your appreciation of Madonna's work. This is from her third album True Blue, which cemented her status as the Queen of Pop forever, and proved to the critics that she was a serious artist and not just a pop star. Keep the Madonna reactions coming! It's a journey worth taking. I recommend her song Secret.

The guy that played the dad in this video is the film star Danny Aiello he did this for free because his daughter was a Madonna fan and asked him to do it. He didn't know who Madonna was so the story goes

I think everyone had the same reaction that you had back in 1986 when her third album true blue was released in 1986 and this was at the same time she was filming the movie who's that girl (1987) in the summer of 1986 in new York 😂😂😂

Great reaction this time man! Don't prejudge Madonna while watching her videos like Justify My Love. If she ain't making you dance then she's definitely on message about something. When it comes to her work she's always on message to prove a point and make people think. That being said sometimes her public pesona can border on cringe but Madonna doesn't give a F after 40 plus years in the game. Thats why she is who she is now. Great job!

Reaction was really good this was the point in Madonna's career when critics realised she was staying for good! I can't wait to see your reaction to Like a Prayer don't think you are ready 🎉 won't give you any spoilers but what I will say is although it was controversial it shouldn't have been because she was just presenting the truth that white America couldn't conceive. Madonna also dated Tupac they were both rebels. Madonna has done so much throughout her career for LGBT and black rights. ❤

Fun fact: That's actress Debi Mazar wearing the orange dress playing one of Madonna's friends. She was also in another Madonna music video, "True Blue".

This caused an absolute moral majority storm when this came out with the conservative 1980s spokespeople up in arms about teenage pregnancy.

Madonna has both fun pop songs and deep songs. People can more easily dismiss her pop songs. Watching reactors do her deep ones is more satisfying, which is why people are suggesting them. We want to see you connect to the artist and their vision emotionally, not just bob your head to a pop song and go yeah that was great. I'd expect more songs in this vein will be suggested.

Hello, I think an important thing is to talk to your children about the risks you run by doing certain things. Many things happen precisely because we don't talk

Teach them to love and respect themselves and give them the education to make good decisions.

This video somehow managed to upset people on both sides of the debate. Firstly, it was a scandal that she was showing teenage pregnancy when teenage sex was not even acknowledged and teenagers had no access to birth control. Teen pregnancy was a shameful secret. Many teens were forced by their parents to terminate their pregnancies, or give up their baby for adoption. This was the ultra-conservative 80s. The fact that she was representing a teen who wanted to KEEP their baby meant she would probably bring shame on her entire family. Even though she felt it was the right thing to do and was what she wanted. Madonna is all about casting off societal shame. It's a BIG part of her cultural impact. Allowimg others to do the same.

I recall an obscure media. PSA, using "Papa Don't Preach" as a musical background which showed situations on how to be pro-life when it came to early/teenage pregnancy.

I enjoy your reactions. I do have some thoughts. First and foremost it starts with the song. You hear on the radio. You play the album. It’s a fantastic song. And then a video appears. The story of the song. Fabulous video. The song comes first. React to that first. Do you like it. I did when I first heard it. And then we see the video. Awesome. But it’s the record that I hear on my radio.

About daughters... we always teach them to be aware of boys and their "needs". Maybe we should start teaching boys to treat girls respectfully. And we wouldn't have so much teenage pregancy if sex and sexual education wouldn't be still such a taboo even in 2024.

When you're young and discover sex and your hormones are out of control you end up making bad decisions. A lot of people would have different lives now if we taught young people how to deal with it all better.
