REACTION VIDEO - MGP WINNER - GÅTE - NORWAY EUROVISION 2024

After a fantastically staged National Final which cements MGP (and NRK) as one of the best of the season we have a winner who will represent Norway at Eurovision 2024 in Malmö, Sweden,
Step forward and take a bow Gåte!
Norway tend to do well (mostly speaking), when the competition is hosted by their next door neighbours.
The hotly tipped KEiiNO gave a very impressive performance but in the end had to settle for second place, albeit just 6 points behind in the end.
Can Gåte bring the trophy back to Norway for the fourth time, and fifteen years after the nation's last win in Russia?
Time will tell, but for now here is my reaction video to their live performance and as always, I follow this up with a personal Rating out of 10.

Gåte = Riddle, Ulveham = Wolf skinwalker. It’s a 1000 year old tale. The song is about a girl who was cursed by her stepmother to live in the forest as a wolf. One day she sees her stepmother in the woods and eats her, and she was pregnant, so as she drinks her brother’s blood, the curse is lifted. «Never would I be whole and well, until I got to drink my by brother’s blood».

I've seen many reaction videos to this song by now, and you are the first one to know the name of the keyed harp (nøkkelharpe in norwegian) :)

Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I remember the nøkkelharpe from Eurovision 1995. Ulveham is reminiscent to Nocturne in many ways I think. Best of luck for Eurovision 😃
