"Our baby would have been so beautiful" gets me every time 😭😭
So unfair!!!😭
Worf's death chant translates as follows. "Only Qo'noS endures. All we can hope for is a glorious death. Only Qo'noS endures. In death there is victory and honor."
I know Klingon too
@@Starlord-lz7ez I don't. What is a qo'nos?
@@Sopranohooper The Klingon komeworld.
It's pronounced Chronos. It's the Klingon homeworld.
@@Starlord-lz7ez yes, I can speak some as well and I wrote a couple of poems in it when I was younger and some other stuff. Funny story, I answered the telephone speaking in klingon this morning thinking it was my mother but ended up with someone she had asked to call about COVD money problems. I was somewhat embarrassed.
Obviously this sucks for Worf, and Sisko, but I also think about how much this must’ve hurt Bashir. He was in love with her for a while, then they were close friends, and then he couldn’t save her in the end. As a doctor and a friend, it must’ve been heartbreaking
It did work out in the end though when he and Ezri Dax began a romantic relationship. And even then, that didn't happen until she and Worf had worked out their relationship as one of respect and deep friendship, even though they couldn't have what they used to have with the Judzia host.
@@lucindamobley5492 Personally that felt a bit forced. Each Trill host is still very much its own person with its own character. Ezri was very different to Jadzia in personality and looks, in many ways she was quite the opposite. And Jadzia wasnt really in love with Julian in the first place, they never hooked up as far as i remember.
@@Daniel-rd6st True, each Trill host is unique, but I think that was part of the aim with bringing in Ezri Dax. So that the audience could feel what Benjamin felt when he first met Jadzia after Kurzon died. That was a big change for him because he lost close friend whom he had a close guy to guy friendship with, now he had to learn how to form a brand new relationship with somebody completely different than Kurzon. And it paid off in full because you can tell that he very much respected Jadzia and mourned her when she died. It's no different with Ezri.
@@lucindamobley5492 thats an awesome point i hadnt thought of it like that before
lol, Wolf had sex with both...
Most unnecessary death in Star Trek of all time.
I would thumb this up a thousand times if i could. so true
Worf's wives keep on dying for some reason.
Killing off a meaningful character is meaningful. They mater to us, so their deaths are important. Much better than the endless stream of redshirts.
Unnecessary for both in character and out of character reasons. Farrell had decided she wanted have a recurring role in the final season (she was exhausted and wanted a break) and Berman and Co. would have none of it. So she asked that Jadzia Dax at least be left alive and exited off the series and Berman and Co. would have none of that either. But hey, I think that time as proven that Berman and Co. did the wrong thing (as they did with other things Trek), and Farrell remains popular at Trek conventions to this day.
hdhale2 Rich Berman. Damn. Part of the reason of the probable death of Star Trek.
Worf gave his warning to the dead: “Make way, for a warrior is coming.”
Too bad Jadzia didn't die in glorious battle to be welcomed into Sto-Va-Kor.
@@deathbykonami5487 Battle with, at that moment, psionic empowered Dukat were glorious enough if instead of fleeing she decided to fight. Albeit, she didn't knew what he became...
He said the same thing, when K'Ehleyr was murdered by Duras. The primal scream and chant are both ancient Klingon traditions, related to the death of someone considered honorable or similarly worthy.
I saw a video of a DS9 reunion. Terry was still in tears when it was mention about her leaving the show. She mentioned that she never wanted to leave the show. When she came up on the stage. Michael Dorn greeted her with a hug. Terry & Nana was like two lost friends reuniting. To me Terry seemed to love working with the DS9 cast. It made me sad that she was pushed out of the show.
She had another show that would have required a "sliiiiight" scheduling arrangement for her to continue on DS9. And the producers refused to budge. I actually liked Ezri but did you really need to kill of one of your main characters 7+ seasons in?
@@gwpeoples I just found out that it was all Steve Berman's fault. He even went as far to make indecent sexual comments about and towards her. He really wanted her off the show. So he pushed her off the show.
@@gwpeoples Most of the cast members had 6 year contract with Paramount about DS9. When the show was approved for it's seventh and final season? Steve Berman froze Terry out of a contract renegotiation. He just told her to take it or leave it. Becker was about 3 years after DS9 ended.
@@dalemcilwain Rick Berman.
But yeah, he by all accounts was a prick.
If memory serves me right, Terry regretted taking the Becker show gig because she went from a hero to a terrible cook. This moment marked the end of what made Star Trek good. The seventh season finished okay. Michael Dorn shouldn't have had this happen to him a second time. Rick Berman tanked the franchise after this episode.
For this one act, I hate Dukat more than any other villain in the whole Star Trek franchise.
come on man, you have to hate the borg more than some ds9 cardisan nut
The Borg are the force that should be respected. They scare the hell out of me. I might even admire them, slightly for their goal of perfection, but hate, definitely not. You can't hate a storm for its destructive power :)
Dukat is to blame for BILLIONS of deaths. He gave the Dominion a staging area in the Alpha quadrant which even lead to the deaths of 800 million Cardassians. Then he linked up with the Parwraiths. He is by far the worst.
The deaths were just the end part of the fun for him.
Dukat had luck, he didn't kill Worf.
jadzia death was an example of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. i loved her and worf together. poor guy cant catch a break.

Probably the saddest death scene since "The Wrath of Khan" and "Generations". And very well executed.

And don't forget Worf's 1st mate, K'ehleyr as well!
Never forget - Dukat didn't kill Jadzia. Rick Berman did.
One of the saddest death scenes ever.
There is one thing that I feel should have been included: a final moment between Julian and Jadzia. Even though they never became an item, there's no doubt that they were still very important to one another. As a fan of their friendship, as well as someone who wishes they had become more than just good friends, I feel a bit cheated by the lack of a final scene for those two.
GEEZ!!!
I have always wished that the two, J and J, had ended up together. At least it materialized in the alternate reality episode The Visitor where they got married, had kids and grew old together.
Nothing much against Worf but I never really liked his and Jadzia's coupling.
I wish we could have seen Ezri's zhian'tara and seen Jadzia ask about her friends and family and reassure Ezri that she could get through all that
@@joeyshears1483that would have been great to see ezri zhiantra and a good way to provide closure for jadzia

Way to make Jadzia's death all about you, Benji; she'd be proud.
if Worf had the chance, he had the right to kill Gul Dukat, because, under Klingon law, Dukat killed Jadzia, who was Worf's mate. I wholeheartedly do the ritual death howl with Worf. Qapla, Jadzia Dax, Daughter of Kela, member of the House of Martok.
The circle of vengeance never was closed.
Sisko did it for both of them in the end.
@@mikegallant811 it was, by Sisko.
Not that I didn't appreciate Nichole de'Boer, but Terry Farrell's departure was something that never understood.
It hurt the series and simultaneously kept it running partly because de'Boer's performance is so good.
I thought i would be in the minority but I hated that Jadzia had to die. Know what? I take that back. She didn't have to die. I like Jadzia so much better than Ezri. At least the writers only killed off Jadzia because Terry Farrel didn't renew her contract for Season 7.
Terry Ferrell offered to be a recurring character on the show, but the producers didn't want any of it and had the writers kill off the character.
As much as I don't like how they killed her and would have preferred she'd remain a regular, I do like her death more then I would have liked her becoming a side character, it added gravitas and I didn't dislike Ezri.
I haaaate ezri
I remember Terry Farrell wanted to stay on the show for the final season but as recurring but was denied the request
@@joeyshears1483 This. sucks how it happened but was a great thing for the show in general.
So unfair to Worf and Jadzia's relationship to kill her off. Seems so pointless when there was only one season left. Maybe it'll make sense I haven't started 7 yet.
I was so disappointed when she left the show. The wedding was great, I wanted them to have babies.
Just finished season 6 like 5 mins ago, finally remembered why I never wanted to rewatch the series... I'll just cry myself to sleep now
If that legend is to be believed, if one of the Klingon hearts stops beating, the other, overwhelmed with grief and despair, will go berserk and slaughter everything in its path until naught but one still remains standing. Deep Space 9 is lucky all Worf did was trash a holosuite 3 months later.
I Really wish they did'nt kill her off it seems like worf can never find true happiness...
Terry Farelll wanted to leave DS9 to star in a shitty role on show Becker. How did that turn out Terry? *sips tea*
The Truth Savage.
pretty good, considering becker had more than one season, she would have had only one more season of ds9 anyways, i think she may have made more money doing Becker as well.
The Truth Yep bad mistake by her. The show Becker sucked!
She didn't want to leave completely, just to have less time, and they would not work with her... She had other priorities... They could have cut her show time and kept her...
The Truth I laughed so freaking hard at your comment, I'd be suing you for my medical expenses because my excessive laughter almost gave me an asthma attack!
Worf really needs to stop getting women. Everytime he does, they die. Even Troi died in the alternate timeline where they didn't split.
Since the DS9 crew knew she was definitely dying, did Bashir and the medical team already surgically removed the Dax symbiont from Jadzia's body before this scene, or did they do it after she died? I've always wondered about this detail.
When Sisko and the defiant crew got back and Bashir comes out to say "I was able to save the Dax symbiont but there was nothing I could do for Jadzia" made me think he had removed it already
Yes. Bashir did in fact remove the symbiont as the comment above mentioned. You could tell by the melancholy body language and mournful tone of Bashir's voice that he had done everything he could. Worf lost a wife, but Bashir lost the woman he loved as well.
This was so sad when I first watched this.
first time seeing her death I cried. I cried so hard for her, worf and everyone who loved her
While I normally like some random bad events in storytelling to make it less predictable, DS9 had too many of them too often.
Miles O'brien for example. Dude gets kidnapped into Mirror universe, tortured in a simulation for 50 years, captured by Cardassians for a framed court, His wife gets posessed, he himself gets replaced by a robot impostor, tortured by Jem Hadar, Loses his daughter into the MOST RANDOM TIME PORTAL IN THE UNIVERSE, He himself almost causes the entire station to die by accident, loses any friend he makes that is not in the main cast almost immidietly, His wife has to go away for work at least half a year if he's lucky and the list goes on.
They started doing the same with Worf as soon as he stepped in DS9.
His house got dishonored *again,* His brother give up on living so he had to completely erase his memories, His Wife died and half the time he'd have some Klingon problem about honor to fix. Even after Jadzia died he had to pull something in her honor, dude cant just rest. He didnt have this much problems in the Enterprise, THE flagship!
While its the opposite for Sisko. No matter how bleak the situation is, it always turns out completely fine for him due to him being a ''emissary''
I liked DS9 until the very end of Season 6 but I was very very bored after season 4 to watch Miles and Worf suffer *again.*
The only thing Gul Dulat did wrong was listen to the writers in the last 2 seasons. Gods did they ruin his character in the end.
From ambitious patriot willing to do anything to further his people (and position within them) to broken caricature of a person that acts like a Saturday morning cartoon villain.
Way before 'Game of Thrones' season 4 and the death of Ygritte (Rose Leslie), this was the most heartbreaking death of a beautiful and heroic female character in a TV series of a sci-fi/fantasy genre...
Unnecessary death, yes. But in war, aren’t all deaths unnecessary?
Yeah, but if I wanted that, I'd watch M*A*S*H* :'(
Nope. Adolph, as a case in point.
Hello Mister Dreamcrusher.
@@bugwar5545 I can say people on Adolph's side would think your death is necessary too. Apples and Oranges. It's all fruit (death).
They handled Siskos response extremely well
Can't believe it. Jadzia got treatment from Julian to help her & Worf conceive & because it worked she went to a temple to give thanks & Gul Dukat showed up & killed her. Crying my damn eyes out. Her loss was felt by everyone & her loss was unnecessary.
I remember, I was practically crying when she died. And then, a bit later, I saw Terry Farrell joing some other ridiculous show. I felt like absolute betrayal, she was simply written off when her contract was canceled or expired. Still have a bad taste after all these years!! That's entertainment, folks!!
The only thing I would have changed about this scene (other than Dax dying of course) is giving Sisko a chance to say goodbye to his best friend. Maybe even have him tell with Word and chant with him.
This scene was heartbreaking. The death of Jadzia Dax affected all that knew her well. Very sad scene.
It took me years to finally feel the urge to watch the final season of DS9 after seeing this episode live lmao. "Well, I'm done."
By far the best Trek series.
It was stupid to kill off Jadzia Dax, Lieutenant Worf and Jadzia was the best interracial couple on Star Trek Deep Space Nine.
this is one of the most horrible scenes in the entire series Jadzia is my favourite character in the entire star trek universe
Goodbye favourite character 💔
The one gripe I have against this series was not the death of Jedzia it's that Worf should have been the one to kill Gul Daukat. They could have kept the whole Pa Wrath thing maybe Cisco the powers him but wharf should have been the one to strike the killing blow.
No shyness; it'd drew me to tears, because it'd reminded me of the love I'd lost.😔
First Zyial, and now Jadzia. Two people who didn't deserve to die.
Bashir: I managed to save the Dax symbiont. We have to get it to Trill as soon as possible. There was, um... nothing I could do for Jadzia.
In fairness, what the hell would have Sisko done to a pah-wraith to stop them from closing the wormhole?
I cried for Worf. He loved Dax so much.
I have to wonder what it would be like to be a Trill. You have the combined memories of your past hosts, each who have lived totally separate lives, but each influencing the next host's life. Do Trill ever get symbiont transplants?
Worf never gets a break
Damn worf can't catch a break
Very, very, very, very, very, very, very sad indeed :(
Ezri was way cooler
Dax - a completly deranged Being without any Morality.
The Worst Girlfriend Worf could possibly have gotten.
May she rest in Hell. Alongside other Goauld.
i do wonder if jadzia would have been promoted to full commander in season 7 had she stayed.
Would have been promoted to captain by the end of the war for sure. Come to think of it, that would have been a perfect way to get her off the station and set her up for the recurring role she wanted in season 7.
I honestly respect the bellow of rage Worf has given in times of grief.
When my younger daughter was born her lungs weren't quite ready, so she needed oxygen sprayed up her nose for a while or her pulse ox would plummet to fatal levels.
Holding the tube under her nose, I didn't want to cry. I wanted to roar in anger.
Of course, when her lungs started working properly, I wanted to roar in happiness.
P.S. - 7 years old and runs 10Ks for fun with her mommy and older sister. Maybe she's got some Klingon in her.
Terry ended up marrying Spock's real life kid....so it worked out!
And then divorced said kid. So not so much.
It's too bad we never had a real episode with catharsis after this.
Could you imagine if Worf had a lead on Dukat and basically blaming him for this started butchering his way through a bunch of Jem'Hadar and Cardassians?
damn, Troi dodged a bullet
Dukat what a guy
Why couldn’t they allow Worf to be happy…by all accounts Worf should have murdered the Galaxy in his rage, but his character and strength would not allow it
0:50 Me when I missed the Star Trek convention.
I'm watching this show for the first time in reruns and saw this episode last night. Why did they kill off Jadzia? Was Terry Ferrell leaving the show or something? I loved Jadzia and Worf together.😭
While I would have preferred Jadzia survived but killing her off seemed to be the only solution since I didn’t see her leaving worf unless her attack from Dukat instead placed her in a coma thus leaving her return in the final season open.
*(in a Star Trek II, Kirkian fashion, the world gashes their teeth, in a screeching, guttural roar)* DUKHAAAAAAAAT!!!!
Space gods couldn't save her
Dukat you Ferengan Ha'Dibah, a curse on you and your house!
I'd have liked it if The Sisko had performed the death roar too. He'd have known the ritual, and it would have been a nice show of solidarity with Worf. And he has joined in with Klingon rituals before.
I wonder what Kor's greeting to her in Sto-vo-kor was like.
She was such a hot actress and eye candy for me while watching the show
Useless red shirts got better and more meaningful deaths than this. There was no reason to kill of such a cool character.
still makes me cry…😭
Worf has finally found his mate, then she died. ;(
They wrote the best character out of the show.
Idiotic.
I would have kept her alive...had the doctor invent a implant that allowed her symbiot to speak through her vocal chords...added a new race to the dialog.
Poor Worf...widower twice. First K'Ehleyr and then Jadzia. His life was so tragical.
It was such a shame Terry Farrell wasn't a part of the cast for the last season of DS9. I don't recall if it was due to a contract dispute or she felt she had to bail early on the show so she could join another show (Becker). I think it was a huge mistake either way.
She want to do a recurring role rather continue on as being part the cast and having to work the long hours on the set.
I wondered why she was killed off. She had a fabulous role on DS9 and although I liked Becker it was a monumental step down imho.
Dukat sealed his fate. Out of all the captains not to fuck with, he picked SISKO?
Actually, the Pah-Wraith killed her. Dukat felt remorse, or as much as possible from him.
Worf and Jadzia deserves better.
My character would be Klingon but all 6'4 18 stone of me shed a little tear for Jadzia...soft hearted fecker i am lol
I hate this, why when there is any problem with an actor the solution always is killing the character? Why didn't they just say that Jadzia had to do something somewhere else? :(
If Worf really was doing the Klingon death roar and not just roaring with grief...why didn't he open her eyes, as is the custom?
Maybe because she wasn't a Klingon. I dunno
It really is a shame Worf and Jadzia never got to have their baby I'd be curious to see what it would look like. I sorta imagine it would kinda look like B'Elanna with the faint forehead ridges but with the Trill spots.
Honestly it's hilariously weird for Worf to have a baby with Jadzia since she was a renowned lecherous male figure among Klingons in a past life and now it's like "Where is he now?" and the answer is "Oh he became reborn as a female Starfleet officer and now is screwing around and making babies with Worf." 😂😂
Oh yes, leave freaking _Star Trek_ of all things for some obscure sitcom nobody remembers. Great move, Farelll.
Actually I don't think he was in control of what he did and what he says at the end was the ducat we expect.
What I find interesting is her decision based on her contract.
She said she would have liked to finish out the show and at the same time she says she wanted out.
You cannot have it both ways.
My understanding is she wanted out of the *contract* as a series character in favor of being a recurring character, so that kinda is having it both ways. Considering the popularity of her character and that she was going to be on a new show, I think she was gracious in offering to still appear for DS9's final season even in a limited capacity.
Fuck's sake. Worf gets widowed twice in this franchise. At least what's-her-name gave birth to Alexander before she died. So Worf has one child. Too bad Dukat killed Jadzia while she was still pregnant
