- American mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne singing Falliero's recitative and aria Tu Non Sai Qual Colpo Atroce from Gioachino Rossini's 1819 opera (operatic melodramma, actually) Bianca E Falliero, Ossia Il Consiglio Dei Tre (Bianca and Falliero, or The Counsel of Three). The work was revived at the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro in August 1986 with Katia Ricciarelli, Marilyn Horne, and Chris Merritt. This is a telecast from Italian TV Telenova. Coro Filarmonico di Praga and The London Sinfonietta Opera Orchestra conduced by Donato Renzetti. The already dense coloratura writing is embelished with cadenzas written by Alberto Zedda.

@leprincebeaumont vero,in certi punti fa fatica, ma CHI dico, CHI potrebbe cantare una roba del genere fitta com'è di coloratura? a volte jackie si lasciava prendere un po' la mano, come in alcuni pezzi di haendel e vivaldi... però che calibro!

Penso che intendesse dire che in alcune interpretazioni diventasse un po' troppo come dire yankee, un po' smargiassa, ma con tutto questo che è anche vero se oggi possiamo riascoltare i grandi ruoli en travesti di Rossini, Vivaldi, Handel lo dobbiamo a questa grande grandissima Artista che ha aperto la strada a una schiera di interpreti agguerrite tecnicamente e interpretativamente in grado di fare rientrare in repertorio questi grandi titoli dopo più di un secolo di oblio!!!
