- WHAT IF BULMA TRAINED LIKE GOKU? by MasakoX: Thanks to various users on the What If streams, I got excited to try and speculate about the idea of what if Dragon Ball #Bulma decided to train and use her smarts at the same time to be almost as strong as Goku was. Vegeta and Nappa are coming and the heroes need to either go big or go home...what does Bulma do? I think you know what!

My dear Bulma, DBZ's greatest Heroine, a mixture of Iron Man with Super Sentai [tokusatsu] is there a woman braver and more powerful than she in this AU?
Bulma doesn't fall for Vegeta here she's just intrigued by him. I also have an idea. After or during the buu arc, bulma manages to get a piece of buu and fuses it to a new suit. With that it acts like Ironman's endo-sim suit, allows her move as fast as mach 20, strong enough to shatter mountains with one punch, able to absorb power from someone by grabbing them, able to liquify itself and attach and trap someone and the harder they struggle the tighter it gets, and increases her reaction time so even if she can't see her opponent, the suit will react to defend her it's code name God Buster. She won't beat every god class opponent(some not all) but she make each one work for the win
I think what Bulma felt for Vegeta was just a slight attraction, the prince is handsome and strong for her, but it's quite arrogant and I don't see her romantically taking an interest in Vegeta in this timeline.
Another, and more likely, that two human time travelers (BULMA CHILDREN WITH YAMCHA) will in the past warn of the threat of the three killer ANDROIDS (yes I believe they will be No. 16, 17 and 18) and quite likely seeing the power. and the technology of the Z Warriors, Doctor Gero be more careful and have more androids at his disposal, I think he might even want to insure that these androids are really obedient to him or at least more fearful of his death and with more difficulties. to break free.
I also think it would be worth a romance between Vegeta and No. 18 (Lazuli) in this AU. Here there is a huge window to change the sagas of Space with Freeza and Cold Demons and the SAGA of ANDROIDES, as well as Majin Boo's. Why make it equal to a huge possibility of change huh ?!
Vegeta: “I’ll be back to get my revenge!”

Ginyu and his team would challenge Bulma to a posing battle when they see her pose in her armor for a fight.
Question is: Would Bulma's battle suit effect Dr. Jero's research?
Suppose Jero learns of Bulma's efforts and tries to steal her tech for his research, but gets caught. With Namak arc not happening because of not talking about balls, but expectant freeza force coming to Earth directly in waves(cause King Kai would tell Kami, and Freeza wouldn't send the best or himself off the bat, I think an army, then Genyu, then himself) would Bulma and Jero co-lab, altering Jero from mad scientist to a Lex Luther type character? Wanting to protect humans from space aliens, including Goku. I would assume a combined effort would yield earlier androids. Or would the resources available, knowledge of space aliens, and Bulma's base armor, change Jero to a Human purist, and refuse android tech? I mean, Jero did what he could with what he had after all.
Suppose Namak does happen, would Bulma's irrelevance in the Freeza arc push her to use Jero's android tech on herself, when that arc happens? (as we all know of Bulma's pride, playing peanut gallery just isn't something she liked to do when she was younger) And would the Androids have battle armor inspired by Bulma, creating stronger androids?

Just thinking that somehow she will find a way to convert the thermal energy from Kaioken into fuel for her suit so as to mitigate her physical strain from the technique and give her additional power surges so she could last longer on the battlefield. However she will probably find the risks too great until she discovers the rejuvenation tanks in the Frieza Arc and incorporates that technology into her suit granting her mild auto-regeneration capabilities. This allows her enough time to more effectively use Kaioken as a power surge for her suit before it damages her body too bad.

Just finished, and I’m a little disappointed she didn’t remember she could use her shrink ray again. And it does look like Bulma is gonna be the one to cheat on Yamcha, man that’s gonna be tense!

James Baxter or, you know, a capsule. Sure we’ve never seen anything as big as the mecha put in one but I’m pretty sure her ingenuity, the space tech, and the obvious necessity of it would motivate her to find a way to make it work
The bad thing about that is that 240,000 might dominate all of Freeza’s minions but won’t even touch Freeza’s first form. Now might be the time to bring in Dr. Gero and his cybernetic tech to bring in some greater multipliers to the base suit...
Also, did anyone else realize that the multiplier of the mecha is nearly a Super Saiyan level of power increase?
@tulio pereira Okay 1. if 16 was there then there would be no reason to send them back since he wouldn’t allow 17 and 18 to do any of what they did in Trunks timeline unless his personality is very much changed.
2. While Vegeta x 18 could be interesting, I’m sure plenty of people who are invested in this What If was looking forward to how Bulma being a fighter would effect her and Vegeta’s love life, so making it not happen could likely turn quite a few away.
3. Her and Yamcha’s children being fully human would likely be far to frail for the androids to keep them entertained as their ‘toys’, so doubt they’d last long or even wait for Bulma to build them suits when sensing lots of people dying.
Not sure if anyone put shrink Ray idea on round table or the reddit page but they probably be noticed there.
We’re already at part 4? Hype! I wish there was an actual spin off Manga featuring this idea.

Maybe Bulma could improve her surges and the overall Power of her suit by watching how Kaioken works? Bulma in this Au ended up studying the saiyan pod for a whole year so I wouldn’t be surprised if they finish the ship much earlier then in canon with the gravity chamber.

I feel like this What If is on the level of What If Raditz Turned Good. There's just so much to explore and it creates such an interesting dynamic in the story.
I'm also totally not biased in having suggested this exact thing in the subreddit before it was a thing.
I knew it was only a matter of time before this story led to a Kaiju vs Robot fight, and I couldn’t be happier to be right!
Imagine the fight between Frieza and Bulma with her Friezabuster armor.

Bulma gets her potential unlocked by Guru, making her even more mechanically proficient and a bit stronger. After the Ginyu force is dealt with, she takes some parts from Frieza’s ship to upgrade her armor even more, especially the parts from the healing pod, in case her armor is pierced. The fight goes on until Frieza reaches his third or final form. At which point, Frieza will dismantle Bulma’s armor.
@@JJ_R If Bulma with her upgraded armor from parts of Frieza's ship ever lands a real hit on Frieza, he will say: "All that for a drop of blood?"

Check out "Dragon Ball: That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha". In that manga Yamcha got as strong as Goku (maybe slightly stronger) in Saiyan Saga. Although it's too short for my likings. It skipped Freiza saga and ended before Cell Game.
The description of Vegeta’s entrance into the fight after Nappa’s Defeat made me LOL!

What if they used fusion dance and potara more frequently and got really good at it?

Important question: Does the suit react to and amplify her own powers, or does it simply mimic them with greater output? The former, as long as the suit can withstand her, has far greater upper limits at the risk of possibly amplifying any Ki move (including those used against her, with enough precision). The latter will always be limited by on-board (or local, if accessing a grid) power systems, but is not only much more attainable realistically, its outputs and backflow are set and predictable (and therefore generally safer).

Vegeta did NOTHING.
Also, Bulma was not "taken" [like if she was his (Yamcha´s) "property"].
He (Yamcha) did _something_ [likely cheating on her] that made her *choose* to stop their (romantic) relationship FOREVER.
After getting "stuck" on Earth, Vegeta´s only desire was to train himself to surpass his rival [something that was faster/better with augmented gravity], so he had no other choice but to ASK (politely) to what would be the equivalent of a king´s daughter (Bulma always was "Earth´s Princess") for "asylum" (a place for a Royal Prince like him to live with dignity) & some "assistance" by constructing a gravity chamber for his "special needs".
We do not know all the "details", but basically Bulma took advantage of his peculiar position & "desires" (that only HER could satisfy) to get him giving his Word of Honor about certain things he would NEVER DO to her family & "minions".
This would explain his later passive/agressive tendencies, if he never promised to also be deferent or courteous to anyone, ever.
By the time he realized that he not only NEEDED Bulma, but also that he WANTED her, it was already too late for him to run away.
-> If anything was "taken", was his heart. By Bulma (not the other way around).
Making a prediction: Bulma will repurpose A19's Ki draining tech for her own suit

Indeed that suit is coming along nicely but I get the feeling it's gonna hit another wall however if Bulma gets lucky and manages to get her hands on certain blueprints from a certain laboratory she may be able to start a new venture and go even further beyond what she thought was possible!
I agree, here in this AU the sayajins would have to sweat a lot to keep up with technologically improved Humans in this AU, I also see Vegeta and Nº18 getting married or developing feelings for each other here.

Before that even, she got shoved back as soon as the martial arts tournament.

This episode of this probably propelled this to be my favorite what if. Bulma is so kick ass! I don't have anything that I can add to, but this might have one of my favorite twists you guys have ever done. I love it!

A entire universe in the tournament arc was also using giant robot. And they got pretty far.

Bulma makes for quite a powerful addition to the dragon crew, even though she's technically not that strong herself.
I can't wait to see what else she does with this crazy tech.
I can't wait for more of this. I think I might even like this What If more than What If Raditz Turned Good. The interactions between Bulma and Vegeta are gonna be gold.
Here's an idea for when we get to The Android Saga: When Bulma finds out that Dr.Gero and Android 19 can absorb energy, She tries to use that idea and adds it to her suit. With this new feature, Bulma can ether increase her suits' power or maybe have the suit shoot artificial ki blast.
Edit: There could be a possible scene where Bulma collects 19's arms after Vegeta ripped them off to further her research to absorb energy.
I'm honestly surprised nobody ever talks about 17&18 having unlimited ki, that has so much potential for bulmas suit in the future, it's like the ultimate assist ability that took until super to be addressed and even then barely got put into play

I would prefer with the more time spent with Yamcha will keep him and Bulma together.

I think what Bulma felt for Vegeta was just a slight attraction, the prince is handsome and strong for her, but it's quite arrogant and I don't see her romantically taking an interest in Vegeta in this timeline.

Here in this AU the sayajins would have to sweat a lot to keep up with technologically improved Humans in this AU, I also see Vegeta and Nº18 getting married or developing feelings for each other here.
Vegete would never forget defeat and would at all costs want to overcome it, if there is redemption for Androids (Cyborg) he and the prince of sayajins will end up together having a couple of children I think, a girl is a boy.
And yes krillin ends up marrying a beautiful and famous woman, he ends up becoming a hero cop if fans have forgotten, I believe this still happens in this AU, would be a way to rescue classic characters to make romantic pair with our bald friend.

A few what-ifs ago I mentioned a unique ability Bulma might have with the suit is a built-in medical station. The medical station wouldn’t offer regeneration like Namekians, but neither would it cause a stamina drain. If anything, it’d allow her to keep fighting harder and longer than humanly possible.
Now, with the potential of her learning Kaioken, what if such a medical adaption helped offset the debilitating effects of using the technique? While the likes of Goku might be stronger at lower multipliers Bulma might actually be on-par by being able to access higher levels of multiplier thanks to her medical adaptions.

What if when the z fighters were on king kai’s planet they turned the ginyu force good and earlier on Namek Goku spared some of the members of the ginyu force and because of their injuries they were able to easily overpower them and imprison them in freazas empty ship and later during the fight with freaza the ship is damaged and they escape and proclaim that they will help freaza fight but due to their injuries making them useless and their earlier failure freaza just kills them himself and ginyu as a frog sees this.

It wasnt Goku's fault that he was late, it was King Kai's fault as he forgot the time that Goku would take to cross the snake way.
But that can be easily corrected in the next part by saying that Kami misunderstood Goku because the Sayians got him nervous.
What if Bulmas exposure to the exo-skeletons power source, allows her to sense the androids energy?
Dr. Gero would have Bulma eliminated or knocked out so the Z Fighters would be flying blind without her Android sensors.
Also, the use of the spirit bomb gives her an idea. She needs a last ditch effort to use if everything goes sideways. (For yokes later) she toys with the idea about putting a nuke in her chest plate, but then that somebody could make a detonator for it which would be bad.
Instead she needs a nuke-like explosion, preferably without the thousands of years of radioactivity, perhaps powered by a backup energy source.
On today's What If: After years of training with Goku and being the only Earthling to attend King Kai's training, Yamcha, the strongest human on the planet, STILL doesn't do a damn thing! HA!
But Masako she could make the suit have the ability to change size and height like Ant-Man, she had the watch in early Dragon Ball that made her shrink to the size of an ant then Master Roshi borrowed it so he could perv on launch lol

You combined Ultraman and the Hulkbuster armor into one of my favorite characters in Dragonball. This is now top three in my favorite Masako What Ifs. I love this.
Please please ship them like in the original. Vegeta would be a good boy sooner. Like his personality in super during the bu saga. Not only would bulma have tech for him to train with more advanced then cannon but she would train too.

And why not? It is an AU, the idea is to do it differently, following the same path would go contrary to the idea of this AU, besides what has Vegeta ever imagined building a relationship with another woman like N * 18 or Lunch Blond? It would be funny and fun, in addition to exploring a new dynamic, a Vegeta never so nice, but still a Z Warrior.
I would like to have a dynamic between husband and wife different from the one you have in current Dragon Balls.

Correct answer would be that she would likely become irrelevant before the android saga....
She might have to keep improving her armor and make new ones to counter Frieza and his men.
Basically, Bulma will become Tony Stark.
My favorite what if. I'd always pictured Bulma with a plasma blaster and a power gauntlet ridding a hover bike and this seems like the perfect transition after that.
