Raw Food Diet for Dogs vs Cooked

- My Dogo argentino "Huey" took part in the taste test for raw meat and organ vs cooked.Find out what he chose and why.80% protein 10% bone 10% organs is the trick for balanced healthy diet.
Is processed food good for you??
Contact your vet but also use common sense.
When feeding a raw or home-made meat diet, it’s important to remember that you’re not just providing Fido with tasty (to you) muscle meat. Raw Fed Dogs recommends 80% meat/sinew/ligaments and fat, 10% edible bone, 5% liver and 5% other organs, while also recommending freezing certain meats for up to two weeks, such as pork or salmon, to eliminate the risk of parasites. Other diets, such as the BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) diet, recommend a much higher raw bone percentage over meat.
knowing my dogs they would eat them both
Life with Riley & Friends yup same here!
I know that's for the dog....but damn, that looks good!
Life with Riley & Friends
Mine too. I feed them raw though
Annabel Grace yeah all my dogs and cat are fed preymodelraw also.
Yeah my dog would have went for both.... he’s greedy lol
I feel like he picked the raw food bc he was most familiar to it & trusted it. But I could be wrong 🤷🏾♀️
He gets both so 🤷🏽♂️
thanks for loving your dog bro. good man
Its the smell that pulled her towards the cooked meat; think about it, the raw doesn't have the strong aroma as cooked food does. I just did a test last night with kibble & raw; she went straight for the raw!
linda coe pretty sure that's a boy Linda.
linda coe But they can smell things that we can't and what smells good to us may not be good to them. They like stinky stuff as we don't for example.
Raw first, cooked second and nasty assists kibble dead last. Beautiful dog by the way.
get some cast iron pans, you'll never go back. good to see a well cared for dog
When I asked what are the credentials of the person making this video my intention was to know how seriously to take its information. His reply was to ask me what my credentials were. My reply is; I’m not the one making this video or any other video. I’m only an old man trying to do my best for my dogs.
Thanks for the videos on raw feeding. I think a lot of people are really trying to get out there and make the switch and learn as much as they can, and videos like these are extremely helpful! I've been studying/researching raw diet for quite a while now and I still struggle every day when feeding my dogs, thinking that I'm not making a balanced meal each time. I have a 3 year old Boston and a 12 year old Pug so I sometimes find it hard to come up with things since my Pug has a really hard time crunching the bones where my other little guy does it without a problem. Sorry for such a long message! Lol I guess what I was getting at was maybe if you have time you could make a video helping us that are still a little confused with what exactly should be fed day to day broken down for dummies lol. Thanks! :)
End result is your dog ate everything whether raw or cooked. He will eat whatever the heck he can get and as much as he can. Oh raw food, yum, eat. And cooked food, yum, eat. Dogs are not concerned about which is natural or better for them only that the food stuff get in their bellies.
ps your dog is adorable.
I don’t give thumbs down to anyone making the effort. The enzymes are great. Our dogs are not wolves and haven’t lived in the wild for hundreds of years. They are domesticated. Dogs will also go strait to chocolate, banana nut muffins, grapes, etc. which are not good for them. An adult needs to make the choice for them. I would like to know the credentials of the person making this video.
What exactly are your creditials??
good content and a beautiful dogo= 1 like

SON of Apollo hi there, I have a question. I have a 7 year old English bulldog and we all know English bulldogs with all their health skin issues etc...currently my dog has been having issues with her paws. I have noticed they have been sweeping up and started pussing and bleeding a little bit. I switched foods couple months back not sure if that was it. Went to the vent they gave me some anti biotics for her, swelling went down a little bit but issues weren't completely gone. And of course they told me to return in 3 weeks so they can rope me another 200$
Of course I didn't go and just tried cleaning her feet, sprays, soaking her feet in epson salt has helped a little bit. But not completely gone so I was considering raw for her. My friend did it with his dog and he said it has changed his dog a lot.
Do you think it's the food making her feet swell? I'm just worried if I switch all the bones like chicken bones they say they can choke on it etc and my dog for some reason if it's a smaller size piece of bone she'll just swallow the whole damn thing instead of chewing on it.
Do you recommend me switching with all the issues with my dog? Any advice if I do? I have read some things online but like to get some feedback with first hand people that have done it with their loved ones. Please let me know, thank you much!!!
Doug-
Dhc Trading I'm not an expert, but here are some affordable advices that you can try:
-Try switching to the grain free, sensitive or higher quality dog food
-Do some research on benefits of coconut oil, helped my girl when she had demodecosis (helped a bit, not cured) and I put it directly on her skin (some people wash it out, some leave it in). You'll also be able to find a lot of bulldog owners who use the coconut oil to take care of their skin, but ask the vet first because there's always chance your dog might not react well to coconut oil. Yoghurt is good too, but not milk.
-Do you clean the places where your dog's skin wrinkles, inside the paws and between the 'fingers'? Infections in bulldogs tend to start from there.
And even though you already went to the vet you should always ask them for their advice whether some food is giving your dog allergies or to what food to switch to and how.
Makka Na Makura there's no proof that grain is bad for dogs. Just corn cuz it has no nutrients. People just don't understand that kibble fucking sucks it's dried and tasteless. You eat that shit it's got all the fucking flavor burnt out of it. I'd never eat that.. most of the nutrients are probably cooked out too. They need a raw flap of meat and liver a bone some eggs with their powdered shells and some veggies with grains to add cheap protein and minersls. Oats and soybeans are what I would use. Peas maybe too. I'd use broccoli and carrots for the veggies. Dry the veggies and certain cuts of meat for a different sensation and longer storage.
Matthew Niedbala I never said that grains are bad, just wanted to note that there are dogs that get allergies from the grains in the kibble.
if you are truly concerned about bacteria or anything harmful to dogs if serving beef... just sear the outside of the meat and leave the rest raw. chicken and other foods on the other hand are a different story but I've never experimented much with feeding dogs raw chicken. I've seen it done and nothing happen but I'll always be weary of raw chicken. Dogs do have better immune systems for certain bacterias though.
Mikus Aurelius
I do give my dogs raw chicken, sometimes they have a whole chicken each. It is fine.
Dr. Ian billinghurst created a diet called the "barf" diet (biologically appropriate raw food) its what they should be eating that includes bones that's how to get their calcium. Only cooked bone are bad for dogs it changes the composition of the bone. Just like their ancestors the wolves dogs have small amounts of salmonella that line their stomachs, their digestive systems are made to accommodate bacteria from food. 100% safe to feed your dog's raw food.
Mikus Aurelius or just freezed it for like a day or 2 or 3
Nothing wrong with healthy cooked food. Dogs aren't wild wolves and wild wolves only live 5 to 8 years in the wild if they make it past puppyhood. 50% don't. Stop idealizing nature because it's not butterflies and rainbows.
He tasted both and liked the COOKED MORE! tastes better to him too.
Where do you buy the meat?
Cooked wins!!!! I knew it.
Has better smells when cooked. Cooking also brings out flavor.
Oh shiiit didn’t know wolves can cook their meat... It's way better to give them raw stuff
Great video, love the heart on his nose. I had my dog on raw and she didn't like it, so I'm cooking her meals now. She's more work then my husband!! She's always been a very picky eater.
Irma Brooks Thanks Irma!Yes dogs can be very picky.
My dog prefers chicken to be cooked also, but all the rest of his meats he likes raw.
You have nice looking Lab!🐶
Thank you, she's a sweetheart.
My friend did the same test but with ribeye steaks, the dog went for the cook one. And he's not even picky. But he cooked it MR so he does know how steaks are supposed to be cooked ;) I really think the meat has to cool down for at least an hour.
Irma Brooks cooking it takes out a lot of the nutrients, if you cook it i would add extra nutrients in :)
If u fast ur dog for a day it’ll eat raw!!
pupper says "meat is slimey, yet satisfying!"
I know that liver stinks like shit when you're cooking it
he seems to eat raw liver before he eats cooked. I still think he probably prefers raw overall but goes for the cooked because of the smell
Your dog is absolutely beautiful bro
FAXED HD Thanks Apreciate it 👍🏾
SON of Apollo np🐶
I think he likes to save his favorite food for last.
so what your saying is the dog doesn't care what it eats.
Smart Dog...he ate both...Raw...and cooked
Wolves usually don't have time to cook their food... I learned something today XD
My dog would not even look at the raw food lol straight for the cooked chicken. I feed it to him as a small "snack"
The cooked food looks to be hot. There's some steam coming out of it..
Lmao he was so excited watching you cooking =p, beautiful dog btw.
Thanks
Oh had one more question, Amy feedback from anyone is much appreciated. I'm thinking about switching my English bulldog to raw what tips for bones , bulldogs have a lot of health issues should I stick to more red meat or chicken due to those factors or doesn't matter.
And last how do I ween my dog off blue buffalo to raw, do I mix it with the dry and eventually to raw or just start with raw? I have read online but would like some first hand people already doing the raw diet for their loved ones.
Any input is appreciated!
Thanks guys!!
Doug-
Also she had a sensitive stomach and skin, help me out please. Ty God Bless
This PROVES that dogs will eat anything❗😁😃😅😄😊
*Such a cute & beautiful dog*

hi, my dog is quite old and has kidney problems. His kidneys cannot break down proteins that well anymore and to prevent more damage he is on a (near) protein free diet. He is doing fantastic since this diet switch. Old dogs don't need much protein because they do not renew a lot of cells (this goes for all old mammals) anymore so he is okay. Would you still recommend raw food for dogs with these kidney problems or senior dogs in general? I am not going to switch his diet but I would like to hear opinions.
such a beautiful dog!
Beautiful dog dude. Great video. I just started my Rottweiler on raw and I will alway feed raw from now on.
But what if the wolf had a stay at home wolf wife or husband, they could cook the food and organise wolf parties :D
What have u fed them before
This guy said wolves don't always have the time to cook their meat😂
I love the taste of sugar, that means it healthy!
Harry 8642 you know why humans like sugar right?
Do you love the taste of steak? That's healthy. Baked chicken? Healthy. See what happens when good tasting healthy food is picked instead of your strawman.
Blessings and hello, I just wanted to know I just started giving my dogo raw chicken necks and lamb but a few times she poop in the cage. Any suggestions to help my NALA eat some raw.
If she gets runs it’s always a good idea to partially cook boil the chicken necks.
@@sonofapollo5892 Blessings Good morning, OK thank you much, but I thought the bones in the chicken necks will come out and its bad for the my princess
Maybe he associates the cooked meat for his owner's food and does not touch it out of respect.....not, he finished it first.
Raw food retains the beneficial amino acids. Cooked food looses the amino acids.
Per 100g cooked vs raw.
Cooked has higher protein content.
Raw 20-24g protein.
Cooked 27-35g protein.
No
That meat was green dude
I don’t know if you’ve noticed but your intro says ‘SO OF APOLLO’
Stu Preston Thanks
I tried feeding my dogs raw food but they hate it😩 . I have to cook it instead. They love shredded breast chicken or ground beef.
Dogs are not wolves, they have evolved seperatly for over 25,000 years. Their evolution was dependent on the fact that they ate our leftovers. So it makes sense that dogs evolved to like cooked meat unlike cats. But that they also maintained their likin od capbaility of digestion of raw meat unlike humans who evolved to eat cooked meats for over 1.5 million years ago (homo habilis). This is actually p interesting since dogs evolved with humans for so long they like both. Cool shit
Hey if your not going to feed your dig bones with the meat then make sure you give him calcium supplements
yeah just because it was doesn't have time to cook its food what's don't eat frozen food and they kind of really don't eat raw food because the animal is already alive which makes it warm because of the body heat
Honie Forbes Wolves in the wild eat carcass all the time warm cold whatever.Even rancid meat.
Hi Apollo.. can you combine the two? Raw and cooked?
How much do you spend a month to feed your dog raw?
as long as your not feeding your dog organic meat. usually cheap cuts of meat are cheaper by the pound than a 15lb bag of blue buffalo dog food. do the math. Its a little cheaper most time and or about the same price.
a 15 lb bag of blur buffalo costs about 2.50 per pound of food and thats for the least expensive version of blue buffalo. you can get cheap cuts of meat for about the same price.
The goodest of the good boys
Is your dog picky? Like if you give him bread, chips or raw chicken skins he doesn't eat it? My dog turns he's face when I offer him little things that other dogs would eat
ovoxo Yes my dog is extremely picky!!!!
Who is Appolo?
Rip handsfree user
For love of god, what if dogs just like to eat.
are organs included in every meal or once a week? I heard its the same with bones that true?
KYoung2 It's good to do it daily if there on a all raw diet so they get all there nutrition. 80% meat 10%bone 5% liver 5% other organs
Love your channel I myself have two dogos
Power Gaming HD Cool!Thank you!!
My dog would go for cooked 10 out of 10 times. He's used to it.
Matthew Niedbala Have you tried testing him on that...
How you doing brotha I am going to be getting a dogo soon and I wanted to try a raw food diet but my wife and kids are not feeling that idea they want me to cook his food is there a big difference whether its raw or cooked? Thanks
Good question.Your dogo pup will eat it cooked or raw.But in the raw form he will get way more nutrients from it.
@@sonofapollo5892 are you on Instagram boss? I can really use your knowledge and advice on what to feed him. Sorry just wanna make sure i do this right and give what's best for my dogo
my dog would eat both
kool
thanks for sharing, I enjoyed watching it. You can give your dog apple cider vinegar instead of the enzyme stuff. I subscribed😀💞💙
Oh really.Thank you!!
I'll eat his cooked food! LOL! 👍😋
why don't you just do Green tripe instead of the probiotic?
Megan Gould That's a great idea.Ive been looking for green tripe.
I always go RAW
Nice to see a dog that is not mutilated, He's hot. He needs bigger bowls.
Greater Good Fiji THE GREATER GOOD FOUNDATION Thank you many people talk about the ears etc.But he's all natural!!
Thanks
👍
Your dog is American pitbull terrier? My boy looks exactly like him only with tiny spots on the ear only
No.He’s a Dogo Argentino. But yes they can look similar.
@@sonofapollo5892 they look almost exactly alike face tail n all could my white American have dogo in him ?
Well that didn't answer fuck all.
any would eat it both, raw is 100x better
so do u need to de-worm your dog?
Kito No not at all.Freeze your meat for two days before feeding it to your dog.It will kill all possible parasites.
what about chicken bones. i heard it is hard to digest.
he has grown big now. and how is his obedient class.
you train him?
has he got a girlgriend yet lol.
good looking chap. :)
Kito Thanks 🐶!Yes he did find a girlfriend.
She had puppies this week.Check my last upload!!
He loves chicken bones and eats them with no problems.
Dogs and people as well as all domestic animals need to be dewormed on a regular basis because worms are contracted in numerous ways, not just via food
no human will eat the cook one
I really hope that is not pork
is this a dogo?
Joe Cruz Yesssssss
Pet fooled and What The Health
your dog is so beautiful
Thank you!!
why so many people is so sure raw meat taste better and is more nutricious than cooked to dogs?
do they do research, or just say it as a hunch because thats how they suppose to eat it in "nature" altho they are completely domesticated?
why do people start cooking their meats in the first place, there should be a reason other than taste?
i think that if any other animal had the knowledge and capacity too cook their meals they would do it..
jizz us christ Umm no
SON of Apollo
what was i thinking, of course no.. answer was always so obvious..
When food is cooked it loses 90% of its nutritional value. The worst food being Kibble. A balanced cooked diet is better than kibble.
@@josephinevera9966
"When food is cooked it loses 90% of its nutritional value."
are you sure about that? can you give me your source please, i would want to give a read on it.
Lmao well a dog would also want to eat chocolate
That proves nothing
From my opinion if you feed cooked food, their mouth would be cleaner when they lick you.
My dog is a vegan
Kemuel Alzul you sooo wrong for that. Your dog isnt you
he is hella cute to be a pit.
Or you Just can't cook
my dog is bigger x5 more meat then that dogo argentino
It s a weird pitbull
Akuma D. Sperate It's not a pitbull.
He weighs 104lbs way too big.
He's a Dogo Argentino
that explains a lot
You should cut all that fat off!
