    Fantastic. We have a town in Alberta called Red Deer, but we don't have any Red Deers. We have Whitetails and Mules. I'm so used to hunting in September-December, but I guess everything down under is flipped, including the rut. Cheers from Alberta.

      @@IntotheMountains Absolutely mate, your efforts will be (and are) having a positive influence on anyone that invests the time in watching a whole episode. There's so many valuable tips and trade secrets in clips like these. You're not just rolling a 3 minute rock n roll clip with a trophy at the end, it's educational! Look forward to eventually crossing paths

      Hey mate yes, the reds respond to calls well. We’ve had a lot of success with that and lots of the footage you see is due to either the deer calling or us 👍🏾

    Could you have taken that fallow stag?

  • @Marcusb338
    @Marcusb338 4 года назад

    Nice vid. I’ve got a population of reds near me in central vic In public land that is legal to hunt believe it or not. It’s a strange area as it’s almost dead flat and has barely any feed around. The bastards are like ghosts though, ive seen plenty of videos and photos of them and my mate has shot 2 in his backyard next to the forest, but I have zero idea where they bed or anything. I’ve spent the last few days bush walking and found prints and shit everywhere. Set up some cameras and just waiting a week or two to see what it captures. My question is, most of the tracks I was finding were huge, and it was just the one deer I assume, I found prints heading every direction in a 500 meter squared area, it could be multiple but at every point there was clear tracks it was only the one animal. I know it’s a stag from the size of the prints, but at this time of year ( April ) does that mean a solo animal probably isn’t trophy worthy, and the one holding the hinds will be bigger? And have you got any other tips?

      Kayle Everett yes looking out the window it’s hard to imagine how green it can get but time of year plays a big part. I’m not a fan of GoPros as I’ve had nothing but grief with them. The action cams we use are Sony fdx3000 units. 👍🏾

    Noticed you had a patagonia jacket on. Patagonia has a strong stance AGAINST hunting. I will no longer be purchasing any of their gear. Boycott patagonia.

    • @IntotheMountains
      @IntotheMountains  5 лет назад +2

      Not actually true buddy. The owner and ceo of Patagonia is an avid hunter and discreetly supports hunting. Pays to do your research beyond the surface. He features on a few podcasts now explaining his company’s stance. They make great products and boycotting them won’t make any difference to who we are
