If you look at where the song is situated on Nina's album "I Put A Spell On You", Chloe literally gave the performance that matches the song, imho. Juneteenth is about freedom. I think her dance was appropriately interpretive, because enslaved black women didn't own their own bodies, their own anything. It felt like a dance of emancipation to me. I LOVED IT!!!

Chloe is way too talented for her own good she actually produced this classic to to fit her own needs and choreographed it as well. She kills it every time her and her sister Halle she’s never boring and jeans skirt Twitter like to project their own insecurities on ppl especially if your a threat they hate that. Also, the song is about loving the skin you're in and embracing it however YOU see fit. The people sitting around criticizing her saying, it wasn't the time or place are clearly just hating on her and obviously don't know who THEE Nina Simone truly was... Chloe's performance, (her amazing vocals aside) physically brought the song to life, even Nina's granddaughter said herself, (I'm just paraphrasing) if my grandmother (Nina) could have, she would have performed the original song the same way Chloe performed it. She and her mother praised Chloe's performance and said that Nina would be proud!
Them coming to Chloe's defense was enough for me to mute out and ignore all those haters, who really are just mad that they don't look like Chloe or /and incapable of doing half of what God blessed her with.
