Also, the render times have improved considerably.
When OpenAI first released footage of their Sora technology, the world jusitifiably lost their minds.
But hardly anyone on the planet has access to it, even today.
Since it’s release we’ve seen all the video generation platforms work on upping their game, and we saw service like Haiper.ai take things just a bit closer to Sora results.
We recently heard about “Kling” - another AI video generation service with stunning results, but access to that platform is also extremely limited.
Now, however, we have “Dream Machine” from Luma labs, and it is quite amazing - and you can create 30 5-second videos per month for free.
In this video we do some direct comparisons to Sora, and generate videos of our own using text prompts and images.

Without extended features like what "Runwayml" offers, I prefer to wait a bit longer, as there's no point in creating only an 8-second video, But this seems quite promising

Yes, they instituted that yesterday while my video was it the editors. I mentioned it in the description.🙂
All of this is because the company makes Gaussian splats and text/images to 3D messages
When MidJourney was released, the quality was also poor. It will certainly be improved. And if you use the same mammoth prompt again on Sora, the result will probably be quite different from what is presented.
No doubt.
I think AI video has peaked, at least for normal people. The higher-end stuff will be too cost-prohibitive for average people. I'm also not convinced that the compute power is where it needs to be to compensate for upgraded quality.
The only reason I disagree with your statement is that the open source community is stronger than ever in this work, and I think free versions of just about everything will be free or affordable eventuality. We'll see I guess..
@@BobDoyleMedia I do agree with your take here about the OS community, and I hope that their foothold is strong enough in the near future to combat these closed-source companies... like OpenAI.
I have not had much luck with Luma, Most of the videos is nothing what my prompts say.
never got the desired video after attempting all free points. not very usable. also paid plans are expansive
too expensive for membership considering what you get.

The Max Per Day Is 5 Generations. It Was 10 At First But Reduced To 5.
Fair In My Opinion If It Helps With Getting The Site Running Smoothly :)
I Do Hope The Developers Will Extend The Lenght From 5 Seconds To 10 , 15 , 20 And So On As The Site Evolves.
