    The agreement is that there is none. They were directed to a common website that the Germany uses for labour migration. There were no opportunities secured by GoK. They just came back with a link which was there even before they left for Germany. What a waste of public funds!

    What is not being discussed is the requirements to get employment in Germany. One needs to pass german language levels B1 and B2. Then your professiom qualifications needs to be recognised with thier standards and certified. You must also show proof of sufficient funds to sustain yourself for 6 months only then you can apply for a job. Once you get employment you are required to apply for a stay permit, ID card, health insurance card.

    • @aminhaji396
      @aminhaji396 Месяц назад +20

      In my opinion this is a normal agreement, Germany has signed such agreements with many counties on skilled labour and migration. What is important to understand that if you lose your job and or you are unable to get a job, you must leave Germany. If you don’t because of funds or documents then GoK is responsible for your return. German taxpayer will not pay for your stay as you are not a contributing member of society meaning “paying taxes” nothing is free.
      Each EU state has plenty of jobs available as they have always been there, follow the regulations and laws and you can move anywhere, you must to do all the paperwork, qualification conversions etc.
      Processes are bureaucratic and time consuming and it costs so don’t expect things for free.
      Everything is online by each respective EU state, you don’t need job centres or agents to get a job. But let me tell you there is no place like home (Kenya) we have a wonderful country.
      Go to official German Government websites, stay away from others.

      Love this detailed explanation. Looks like you're well-versed with the situation kwa ground.
      Another issue needing to be discussed is the rising far-right extremism like the AfD party that is completely anti-immigrant. This group is slowly gaining traction in eastern Germany. Expect more racism and xenophobia. Furthermore, people have to be prepared to deal with unfamiliar cultural norms. It's not easy living abroad.

    • @aminhaji396
      @aminhaji396 Месяц назад

      That's not really true, what they don't want is free loaders...there are many that have entered Germany and are living off the state hence the issue. You work, pay your share of taxes and no one has issues. They also dont want whites that are free leaders from eastern european counties.

      @@aminhaji396 Indeed. What we actually need in Kenya is a plan to provide employment opportunities for our citizens to work at home. Migration is not the alternative. It will benefit only a minority. Most of whom will be from well to do backgrounds. The poor will continue to languish in poverty. This program will not address the real problems we have.

      Here's my two cents:
      This " diaspora arm" of government is a complete waste of tax payers funds.
      Just another opportunity to fleece the public purse under the guise of "everything diaspora".
      Kenyans mostly end up in menial low pay jobs... and you expect them to bring back "skills for a long game"??
      The few Kenyans who are in good jobs abroad will never come back... not to this sh!t hole.
      Do you know the retirement age in The UK?? It is 67 years.
      You expect a low paid nurse will come back to Kenya with what money... at 67 years... and create what opportunities....😢
      So stop creating this spin that there is a "long game"... the only long game here is:
      Desperate Kenyans scramble to go abroad to do menial work... and you are fleecing the ones who are back home... by pretending to ride a non-existent wave... and enjoying the good life.

      Really???
      Why didn't you push for the real answer... the Kenya Government did nothing!

    The problem with this initiative is that it transfers the role of the Kenya government to another government and worse off to build another nation. if you read the history of Germany you shall realise that they are where they are because they focused on building their country. Their concerns around a reduced workforce are their own, and they shall find ways to fix it as it's their nation. We have our concerns here that if they were sorted would absorb our current youthful labour. One can almost always point all issues affecting Kenya to corruption and the use of public funds for private use. We just need to fix corruption to have a fully functional country, without that we shall continue to jog on the spot with solutions such as transfer of labour.

    • @andeyo1

      Very true, we had corrupt and tribalistic governments since independence, but we need to be realistic, one million young Kenyans enter a job market every year. We need three prongs, get them jobs at home, abroad and onlines jobs. @@andeyo1 You'll never hear the Americans and European talking about sending their youthful skilled population to foreign lands unless it has a huge benefit to them. So, why should a developing African country, like Kenya, transfer a skilled workforce to Europe when we're still struggling to fill this need across development sectors? The current migration model will not address poverty and unemployment that Kenyan youth are facing. We need to focus on creating opportunities in Kenya. Kenya Ni Home.

      Just imagine. They were directed to a common website that the Germany uses for labour migration. There were no opportunities secured by GoK. They just came back with a link which was there even before they left for Germany. What a waste of public funds! What is then the essence of internet and utilizing search engines like Google
