As a senior I regret not applying to 10+ schools. I recommend u apply to as many as u can, throw the net as far as you can and you are guaranteed to catch something.
I understand why students apply to so many colleges, but it has wildly distorted the admissions process. Early decision (and its variants) are an attempt by the colleges to bring sanity to the system (and increase the yield rate), but it's still an out of control fashion. I wish the Common App and its competitors would limit students to, say, 5 schools.
Hi, What does deferred mean?. Like a university says that i am deferred so what does that mean?. After applying if the result come as deferred so what does that mean??????? And what is the difference between deferred and waitlisted?
Deferring is only a result if you apply early. It just means the college wants you to apply to the Regular Decision Pool. It's basically like "go try again later." Waitlist is at the end, after the regular decision pool, when the college isn't ready to reject or accept you and there's still a slim chance of getting off the waitlist and into the college.

Wait for Stanford and if you don’t get in then just take a gap year and reapply next year.

how did you apply to stanford's rea and other schools' ea? I thought stanford didn't let you apply to other schools early?
I applied to Stanfords early restrictive action. Basically what that means is if I get in I have to go there
