The Fine Print is one of my favourite songs - the tune and lyrics are chefs kiss 🤌, especially the line ‘there’s no I in team but there’s co in economy’. Super excited to see more BTS content!
16:10 Repetition arguably works in its favour, given the message. It fits the monotony of the indentured life that's portrayed, with the variations that slowly get increasingly grimmer. The heavy-handed structuring around the beat does a good job at evoking old-timey work songs as well. So yeah, I'm a bit biased, obviously, but I'd definitely say it was a good stylistic choice.
Gotta say, you're raps recently improved to scatman levels. Just listening this compared to you're Ad-infinitum you're able to do tongue twisters treatfully true to the trope of spamtom.
I am one of those that first heard this on the 'bootleg' copy used on tiktok, I think I had trouble finding the artist but a little while later you popped up on my FYP "thanking" people for using it. That looks to have done the trick as you were in my top 5 played artists on spotify this year.
I first heard this song on TikTok. But I really "found" it on Spotify while looking for Boppy Villain songs. It's one of my favorite songs, and Stupendium is one of my favorite artists. I love learning more about the process behind making these videos
I had actually always assumed the jitter mentioned around 26:00 was intentional, as though the area is unstable - a literal approach to metaphorical lyrics. Turns out, I was just adding meaning to something that didn't have it.
Stupe in music videos: top quality best audio, crazy intriguing beats and lyrics Stupe during a sit down break video: equipment gives him 2012 youtube audio quality. Just makes these videos better tbh
I don't know why these types of video always give me such a dopey grin, they just seem so wholesome and it's so nice to see how much effort went into these songs
Speaking of reuploaded content, this song, particularly the chorus, was what lead me to Stupes in the first place when I came across a rip of it on iFunny. Thankfully, if there are comments, there’s usually some kind soul that points others to the source. What makes the chorus so amazing to me is that the very simple “we work to earn the right to work” really drives home the image of these futuristic company towns that do everything they can to hold you close and work you to the breaking point like the tool they see you as
As a gamer and writer, I adore your work and this song in particular. Just thank you. And any things that stood in your way in life, thank you for not letting them stop you.
amazing behind the scenes stupes excited to see more and as always how are you? hopefully you've been getting plenty of sleep food and water and getting to relax and oh happy early Christmas
I have memorized the song and I sing it on my way to school sometimes! I just love your large vocabulary! I loved words like magnates and other word play you use!
the chorus of this song is trending on tiktok again :D im glad you're getting more recognition, most of the comments I've seen on the tiktoks have been saying how much they love your content which makes me so happy
23:54 - it was really interesting to hearyou talk about this transition, coz I was just saying to someone the other day that it was one of my favourites as it is!
This song is how I discovered you. Someone used it as a background to a Hermitcraft animatic about the various groups on the SMP throughout the years. I loved the song so I sought out more. Here I am, now a Patron, bought a mug and listened to every song dozens of times.
I always enjoy the visuals you add to your videos and the little Easter eggs. I sometimes understand all the references but really I just enjoy your songs. You quickly became my favorite music artist. I'll drop whatever I'm doing to watch your new videos once the bell pops up the alert. Seeing all the thought processes makes me appreciate the content more. Also kind of points out I'm missing context from some of these games.
Thank you for releasing this look at the making of this video. It's always been one of my favorites of yours, behind only Nook, Line and Sinker. And yes, after watching that video, I always hear Tom Nook with a Yorkshire accent.
I'm not proud to admit that I didn't know you had a 2nd channel despite being subscribed to your main channel for the past couple of years. I'm glad I found this one too
I gotta say its really interesting actually getting to hear the story and thought proses behind these songs. Can't wait to hopefully see more of these in the coming future
Holy, uncle Stups! So many layers upon layers! I love your videos, I believe they're amazingly well crafted but I didn't realized how MUCH there is into it. I always thought that, since Dan and you have this amazing Lyricism and storytelling style, the thing that "separated" you from him was all the work you putted into your videos. And then, since he's been friends with you, he's beginning to make more videos with sets and stuff. It only shows how grandiose your works are and how you inspire so many other artist to put more work into their songs!
this was the first ever Stupendium song I heard way back when it was released and this allowed me to explore more of your music and really get into nerdcore music. Wonderful to see all the breakdowns of your masterpieces.
What an awesome thing to wake up to! :D Are these commentaries common on Patreon? I always enjoy content where a creator is fondly talking about their past projects. It really adds to the experience the song delivers, especially for a regular in my playlists!
We recorded a handful of these and then got separated by lockdown restrictions again, so I think we only did 4 or 5. Then more recently we've started doing proper BTS documentary style videos which negate the need for doing a post-commentary for the most part as you can see stuff as it happens instead of me anecdotage about it later!
It is terrible you don't get the tiktok credits but at least you get the recognition, we may never have found you without that ear worm introduction, and now we can't get enough of your music and I often play the RUclips channel all day while I work :)
Those behind the scene and commentary video are amazing! I’m learning so much stuff, it help me with my cinema class! Plus the fine print is my favourite song ✨
This is the first song that got recommended to me of yours and I was instantly hooked so had to watch this. Been keeping up and loving your material since, I think I’ve been in your top 0.05% of listeners on Spotify since then as well so you’re doing something right by me. I feel like you’ve surpassed this with songs of a similar tone/topic by now but there’s just something special about it that keeps bringing me back. Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta meet a 6 foot deep bottom line.
I love how you’re always making extremely high quality videos and music, and then, when you sit down to record a walkthrough everything falls apart lmao Love your music- it is incredibly inspiring 😁🧡
I love seeing all the BTS videos! This song was my intro to you. I started streaming and Outer Worlds was the first game I played and I was obsessed. So I was looking for music and found yours. And thus the lovely Stupendium Songbook became my favorite nerdcore songs. Thank you Greg!
I am really enjoying viewing your BTS videos. I've always been the kid who wanted to *how* the magician made that trick work! Anyone of your videos are a fabulous work of art, but there's always that nagging, how did Stupes do that? Of course most of the time the simple answer is "green screen". But I still like seeing the reveal. Oh, I had a good laugh at your Monty Phyton reference. I thank my best friend, from the age of 10, who (whilst we were going to University) took me to a viewing of Monty Pyhton's Quest for the Holy Grail.
Not only are you excellent at doing details for your music videos, but you're also brilliant and breaking them down with your own words and opinions on how they all turned out! I really enjoyed listening and watching this video and I can't wait for more commentaries in the near future. 😀 As someone who is also using After Effects and likes to always try new things, this really showed a lot of open opportunities to what you can really do when it comes to video editing. 👍🏻 Like, I had no idea that most of the 3D environments were done in After Effects! Even though you say that in some cases, that's not what the program is meant to be used for, I find that very hard to believe haha! 😂 If I had to pick your next music video to make a commentary out of it, I'd say try doing "The Data Stream". Because that song had a similar vibe in terms of storytelling with "The Fine Print" and may have a lot of interesting things to breakdown, if you know what I mean.
Ohhhh!! This is the song that made me REALLY get into your music, BUT the first song I ever heard was the DDLC one, I remember discovering it back when I was just starting high school and I didn't know english at all, I was just like getting the lyrics and passing them through google translate XD But this one definitely Did Something To Me forever and ever
Amazing video, love behind the scenes stuff like this. Especially all the little moments and things, the thinking process behind it all. I haven't played Outer Worlds myself, but maybe I will now? One thing I thought of though, I don't know much about this, but could you maybe use Blender for some 3D scenes? Could that make it easier or would it even work?
I love breakdown videos like this the fine print is in my top five of your songs I listen to a lot. During the spoken outro on the left middle of the screen there is a line, was that just a hair on the lens when filming or a layer that got out of order?
If I ever get to RUclips content making I think I wanna songs as well. Music is the core of my life. One of those things I do because I love it for no one but myself, for the joy of it. I'd never match your production value, but I don't care, I've never sung for the sole purpose of pleasing anyone else. Just me, I'd just be making online content on the off chance that someone else liked it. Not that that will necessarily happen, but still.
We work to earn the right to work to earn the right to give Ourselves the right to buy Ourselves the right to live to earn the right to die. Modern life summarized in a single chorus. Nobody has rights for freedom until you pay the people more fortunate than you.
You mentioned the technical drawings being used along side the useless binary as filler for the screens. I actually recognise a lot of those machines and what's worse is I'll never unsee it! It's spoiled the illusion of space-age tech when you're showing drawings of trunk and marine oscillating engines from the 1860s! Still, neat breakdown of your post-production thoughts and comments on your own work. Still amongst the top of my favourites from you, Stupes, and growing more and more alarmingly topical with each passing day!
So glad we get to see the creative process behind one of my favorite songs by you. I understand it is a bit rude to request a song but unfortunately I have to ask, are there any plans to make a Choo Choo Charles song?
The Fine Print is one of my favourite songs - the tune and lyrics are chefs kiss 🤌, especially the line ‘there’s no I in team but there’s co in economy’. Super excited to see more BTS content!
*Con in economy. But yes, great line is great
@@PacMonster0 it really is what capitalism is.
This song is what actually made me buy The Outer Worlds, which is now one of my favorite games I've played thus far.
Same.

Out of pure curiosity are you two still dating, or married perhaps?
also how did you do the 3d tracking? It always looks amazing tbh

One day I'll become a Patron. Some day soon hopefully.
Speaking of this song, was it intentional to have the Among Us chorus fit in the same melody of the Fine Print's chorus? Because it fits perfectly.
