Oh so refreshing to find a real tutorial by someone who does know what they are doing, and takes the time to show the 'tools' they are using, easy to follow and easy to understand Thanks, can't believe someone has found it boring. I am hoping to move to 3D design and this hits the spot for me to start the journey. Thanks
I have been watching the whole set you have made on 123D. Really clear and well-constructed videos. Thank you for taking the time to show someone who is thinking of getting into 3d printing.
Brilliant! Excellent series of tutorials and you are obviously a very good teacher with very good lesson planning skills that achieve the outcomes. So pleased to have found your channel.
Just starting looking into this subject having purchased a 40 w laser. Thank you so much, after getting to grips with it last night and then watching your video today, a MASSIVE help, truly . So many questions answered.. Subscribed and I will be looking at all the other videos in this post
When I first opened up the 123D Design App I only had a basic arrow for my pointer. In your videos, your cursor has a yellow hue surrounding the cursor itself. I tried some of the functions you describe like the one in Basics 2/6 where you are working with only the cube and you say to click on the grid and hit "D" to put the object back on the grid where it was formerly passing through the grid, and mine would not work. So I thought it might be a configuration of the cursor somehow. Can you explain please?
Awesome vid and style. You need to state your name as I watched this video but did not catch your name. IMO you want to win literally every award in the world on true beginner CAD/3d videos? What's missing? I'd do it but don't have the knowledge and you do and are also a very good teacher so I'd love to see you do it. Instead of focusing on the TOOL as a beginner, back up one step that literally EVERY one of these 3d/CAD/software howto's have missed that assumes you understand computer CAD design in general, and do this: 1. Start with a photo of a design on paper with a couple drawings to indictate 3d surfaces/depths. Does not have to be super elaborate but have a few holes, a few different surface heights that vary, etc. 2. Using whatever tool of choice (123d I assume), take that paper sketch and step by step, take it from sketch through extrusion to the completed part in 3d in the app. I have yet to see a single tutorial that does this and what that picks up that they all are missing is not only HOW to use each function of the app, but WHEN. Here's my sketch on paper but for this surface, WHICH tool do I use as a new (non) designer? Oh, this section of the sketch looks like a certain type of triangle, but WHICH tool can render that in the fewest operations? Wedge? Do I sketch it first? Hmm. For me, my issue is I can design on paper all day long, even indicating 3d depths by drawing additional angles of sketches. I cannot, however, successfully use any of the many tools I"ve tried to in any realistic effort get into the digital world and for me, it's 3d printing driving the need. I want to actually MAKE what I can think up and draw quickly with a pencil and paper.
Your video was very good but I am having an issue. The issue is when I increase the size of the cylinder and put a cylinder on top and try to make a hole I have done everything you have done in your video. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I would like to have your help please. Your videos are great.
thanks for the video :) i will watch all others to! 1question... if i go to the bleu bar for the pre made object it doesn't load them and it keeps saying "retry loading?"i'm allready signed in as a free member.. do i need to do something else?sorry for the bad english :Dgreetings from Belgium.
i don't know why but suddently I can't access the premade parts that you talk at the end of the video. I push the button but it cannot load them and says retry loading? Do you know what happend? Thanks for the great video!!
Help! Hi, there. I have a problem with my 123D Design software. One day, it just refused to open. When I click its icon, the prompt screen appears, but then it just disappears and nothing opens up! I even uninstalled and then reinstalled the program. But still, it just doesn't open anymore. What can I do to resolve this issue? Thanks for any suggestions. E.
FYI, in the current version of 123d Design (2.0 1.6.41) the Prism primitive is missing... which is unfortunate as its the one you demo first! Its effectively replaced with the Polygon (2d flat) sketch instead, which is at the far right of the primitives selection.
I have done numerous projects using this application. My version has corrupted but now I can't seem to find the application can someone send me a link to a Mac version or send me the application! PLEASE!! Thank You.
I can't for the life of me figure out how to delete an object in this program. I have read the help and there is nothing in there on how to delete an object. How?
Thanks for videos. But is it possible to upgrade your mic, or see if you are peaking audio levels and getting distortion? That would really help make the sound tolerable. Very hard to listen to.
I want to make some tutorials for my middle school students. Would like to make them shorter than this tho. Do you mind if I 'steal' your model/format to make it for my students? I'm still getting familiar with the new software and this would be a great help for them (and me). I think recreating your vids would be good practice for me. Thx.

Thank you so much for making this!
This looks like a nice 3D modeling program. Thus, as for this 3D modeling program, consider it downloaded LOL.
