Wow! The 12" version is one of the best 80s bangers ever! And also the best New Order single that wasn´t made by New Order! How did I never see that video?! Because it still is the obscure hit that never was!
I was part of the team that made this video, it was a small Edinburgh company called Channel 5 (if memory serves me right!) We filmed some of it in St Giles' Cathedral and some in a cemetery on/near Calton Hill. Paul Haig was an absolute gent. Lovely to see this again!
Paul just released one fantastic song after another during the first half of the 80s. This is just perfect. i think Big Blue World is my favourite - but it's a tough choice! Still own all the vinyl.
Killer song. And I love the disdainful annoyed grimaces and smirks he has in the video, matching the content of the post-breakup lyrics. Also - Paul Haig (like most Scottish singers): "I'm going to enunciate clearly such that English and American people can understand my lyrics" Elizabeth Frazier: "lol nope"
Was in the college rock rotation 30 years ago in Cleveland on WUJC or WRUW. It was in my head today, so I searched and found it online. Lovely Voice rather like the Stranglers: Skin Deep
Yes! You have met my challenge I set back in Dec of 2016. The link is below. One of the people following my challenge found your video just 4 days after you had posted it. I was lamenting for months that is was lost for ever until someone in the thread said. Look man its right here? It took me 10 seconds to find it dummies. Sure enough there is was, it took a good 30 secs of play before my mind accepted that in fact that was the video I had searching for a good 15 years. Thank you for time and love you put into this re crafting. BTW? What else do you have in your bag of tricks? lol. facebook.com/groups/OntheAir.VideoBar/permalink/10153903713925881/
