Hi sir, what kind of pump is there at the bottom? Is it in a bore hole or does it pump the water from somewhere else?,good to see the dhp458 in action!, looks in really good condition to,most of them model drills I get of eBay are wrecked!!!, looks like an amazing place where you work,it’s great seeing you work in such beautiful scenery!,great video 🤟🤟

@@UKTOOLTALK hi Jon, thanks for your comment 👍. At the bottom of the windmill a pump cylinder is cemented in the ground. The shaft of the windmill is attached to a sealed plunger going up and down inside the pump cylinder that forces the water up the pipe.
Each upstroke pulls water into the cylinder.
On the downstroke, a check valve in the bottom won’t let the water be pushed out, so the water is forced up the pipe with the next upstroke. It pumps water out of a dam which is lower than ground level up to a ring tank that is called a turkeys nest because it is the same shape as a bush turkeys nest so the water will gravity flow to the troughs. This allows you to water multiple paddocks from the same dam and keeps the cattle out of the water.

That’s a tiny Z Pattern Southern Cross Windmill. Wait till you work on a Large R Pattern Seneschal Southern Cross.
