  • In our continuing series on successful German musical instrument companies,we focus this time on Greiner violins. Stefan-Peter Greiner is head of the company. Currently,world-class violinist Christian Tetzlapp plays on a Greiner. And with the help of his physicist colleague Heinrich Dünnwald,Greiner claims the deciding factor for a violin's sound is the work done on it after the wood carving.

Put a Greiner into my hands, or a Stradivarius, or a Guaneri del Jesu. I can make them all sound exactly like Chinese 'Skylarks' !

Rare exotic Snakewood, Schlangenholz (Brosimum guianense) from Suriname, S.America for sale.
All logs are heavily covered in paraffin wax.
We have 30+ tons in stock.
    Piratinera guianensis also called Letterwood.
Reddish brown with irregular black speckles or stripes.
Very hard & heavy, fine texture and takes a superior shine.
Extremely rare (it has been said that this is the rarest wood in the
world). It certainly is one of the most expensive.

Thank you so much for the English interpretations. My understanding of German is very limited. The violins sound great. How long did it take him to learn to play one?
