I love how almost every single other band my school interacts with loves to hate Avon, now I don’t go to Avon, but I think that Avon is the closest high school equivalent to dci level performances, and the individuals involved put forth the utmost effort to maintain their skill level, and at the same increase their scores each year. This show is just another step towards the bright future of Avon that I and many others lust to be a part of
I remember they day I found out they where coming to Texas and o was so happy and it was something I could not miss. Am glad I was able to make it down to San Antonio to see both of there performances and there show was just outstanding!
Knowing the whole meaning behind this show makes it by far my most favorite show of this season. After listening to the "Brick Wall speech" I could see the emotion all of those kids had and how they REALLY enjoyed performing that show. Not only did they execute their show, but they performed it like no other band that afternoon! Every time I hear the fanfare the trombones play at the end I get an extravagant amount of chills because of how amazing this is. Thank you for uploading this video. These kids should be very grateful for what their director has provided for them and for building this program to where it is today.
Just so you know during this performance there were at least 3 people who were injured and still performing since they actually cared for there not to be any holes.
Of course this band has a lot of help but Jay deserves credit for building a great program over his career there. This year's show was great but continues the message that creates good programing, great music and dynamic performances from students. Avon will miss Jay but Jay has left a great program for students and staff to keep building on in the future. Keep it up.
Congrats on getting second place in the BOA Finalists, but sadly Carmel High School Marching Band one. I'm honestly shocked u guys came 2nd, ur guys' performance should've been 1st it was such a great performance.
David Maslanka (the show was based off his music) never allowed his music on the marching field. Most everyone honored his wishes until the year he died, which was this year. It breaks my heart seeing a school disrespect his will and using it for their own good 😞 Rest In Peace Maslanka
Of course you got the rights, it’s evident in the video. Don’t get me wrong, this is my favorite show this year, but maslanka would not be very happy with people altering his hard work. Imagine this: your father passes away leaving behind his unfinished life’s work, painting. People barge into your house and offer to buy his art only to be commercialized and sold at a higher price at the local auction.
The real disrespect here is you going by the name George Washington, quit bitching, Avon acquires the proper rights to all music they play on the field, maslanka is dead and doesn’t give a shit.
We appreciate your existence.

Pretty sure Avon has been top 3 in BOA finals every year for over a decade, winning it 3 years in a row. That’s incredible.
Didn't they get 4th at San Anthonio? Unless you are talking about just GN

@@jellomonster531 Texas bands eat grand national bands for breakfast
I'm from Centerville, I saw this show 3 times and it always managed to give me chills.

Props to any band that plays david maslanka on the field!!!
Which piece is it?
Symphony Number 4
I do want Blue Knights to March this Symphony. It would be perfect
BANDAS MAIS SINFÔNICAS DO QUE MARCHING E COREOGRAFIAS MAIS EM DESTAQUE ...2017..TENDÊNCIA ?
Congrats on getting second place in the BOA Finalists, but sadly Carmel High School Marching Band one. I'm honestly shocked u guys came 2nd, ur guys' performance should've been 1st it was such a great performance.
pretty sure avon got third, and its sad that you would be sad over another amazing indiana band coming in first at nationals
Were the contras and trombones ever scared that at the end a flag might hit them
sean lasker yes
sean lasker it happened sometime like a flag never made it over so it would hit the horn and dent the horn sometime
Does anyone know why there's a 4 instead of an a in test4ment?
The repertoire is Maslanka's Fourth Symphony.
Did maslanka allow this to be performed this year?
Just a Trombone Guy they got permission to.
리사Lisa cool
Just a Trombone Guy sadly, David Maslanka passed away this month last year, but they went through the proper channels and got permission to play this.
Our school is in the same class but has near half as many members

George Washington. All of the appropriate rights were granted to us to perform this amazing work.
Of course you got the rights, it’s evident in the video. Don’t get me wrong, this is my favorite show this year, but maslanka would not be very happy with people altering his hard work. George Washington stop bitching
Disrespect his will? The show was literally a testament.
