The key is to keep it all in perspective / it’s about good times with family and friends - happier times for all when not in a bad financially situation and can focus on fun not stressed about the $. Reminder - don’t make judgments about what others roll with - especially in front of the kids or they will become miserable material driven twerps. We had lots of good memories in an old sea ray before moving to a new model wake boat. Love the new boat but the memories don’t get better by spending more $.
1000% agree. Considering at my lake everyone with a brand new G23 or MC Xstar or X26 or Ri257 can’t surf or wakeboard worth a shit. Yet the numerous 242 Worlds, F24 Tomcats and Sanger 215’s have guys good enough to run wake and surf camps.
I've got an 08 VLX as well, with the right setup the old girl can still throw a killer wave. Great for a first boat and still awsome to cruise around on with friends and family. I'll upgrade to a 2015 ish 23 footer soon enough but I will always have love for the VLX.
Hey man can I reach out to you on the side about how to use the VLX perfect pass for wake ballast. My buddy and I just got an 08’ VLX 21 wakesetter but cannot for the life of us edit the ballast
Really enjoyed the video. When the wife and I were looking to buy our first boat. We were going back and forth to buy new or used. We went with a pretty clean 06 Nautique and the kids enjoy it just as much as they would a new boat. Difference is I don’t have to stress as much when gold fish and other kid snacks are spilled 🤗
Great video series. Thank you for sharing. I've learned that there's a market for everything. Some people want new for the looks, technology, latest advancements, power, and convenience. Everything comes at a price though. At the end of the day, are you happy? If so, then that's all that matters. What's interesting is your Malibu's cost is still a good amount of money vs. some very low-budget boats, so it's almost as if you have three markets in play for getting out and having fun. Great video though. I really wish there were more independent comparison videos out there where the owners also had their surf waves dialed.
Saw some good 2014-2015 21 foot wakeboats going for between 50 and 60. Seems expensive to get a boat 7 years older and upgrade when you can get a newer one with a year left in the warranty and all the upgrades standard.
I have to say , your wake looked wider. More face to ride. I have a 05 23 LSV. I am not going pro. The nice thing about having an older boat is I can afford other toys as well. Lol.
We have a 2020 21 ft Yamaha jet boat and we wanted to surf behind it, we’re all new to surfing, we can get up and rip around we just can’t find the sweet spot, is this because the wave isn’t big enough?
Hey man love your videos! What are you securing the amp rack to the hull with? I am about to set mine up with a similar setup and would love to know. Thanks! @BTUFF
Nicely done. I have a 2008 LSV 23 with an aftermarket version of Malibu's surf gate (hydraulic acquisitors but not digital display etc. ) For us it works great. The other think to note is your VLX (and my LSV) still have a decent waterski wake which the G23 does not. Question - What did you do to connect blue tooth to your stereo? (I assume you did that as part of your upgrade)
So I got the Wetsounds Bluetooth EQ. You can use any bluetooth. I connect the phone to the bluetooth and the watch to the bluetooth. You can then control your music. You can use any bluetooth
Nice footage. Thanks. Does anybody have a estimated guess how a G23 or Pavati 23 is when I am driving fast to transfer some distance. I am riding in a no wake zone but no speed limit. Therefore I need little wake to do the distance ride. Cheers and thank you
The difference between the new vs old boats is just convenience and time, you probably spent 30+ minutes just setting up your boat for a left foot forward riders, switching is way easier in the new boat saving you time which is money. Good video though.

Ryan Andreyka I just bought one today let me know if you here anything
I can’t believe this video is 3 years old, back then I had a mastercraft x30 but always wanted a Malibu, just love the shape and lines of the boats

I could have got a new boat with a payment or pay this off in cash. I thought I'd enjoy it more if it was paid off.

Who’s the artist or name of the songs you are using?
Real talk...solid work! Whatever gets you on the lake surfing.

He’s specifically referring to Malibu
Very useful comparison
Hey Billy, what kind of bag do you have slung on the transom hooks? That's exactly what I need for my 08. Thanks.
If you search transom saver on eBay you should be able to find.

Did you fill the internal ballast on and Malibu and add the fat sacks? Do you ever hit your head on the Rev 10 speakers?

there should be a side board hooked into the hull you can drill into
08 all the way….no question 🤘🏼
Great info!
Does your wakesetter have the factory centre ballast also?
Yea it does. I’ve taken a bag as well

That wave looks way longer and more rampy👍
G23 or Centurion 23 footer or 25 footer

Dude you gotta compare a g23 to a 23 lsv no a 21 foot ski boat lol

What wheels and tire (brand) are those?
Ultra phantom.
BTUFF ty
First song called?
Why would you upgrade tires and rims on a boat trailer? That's beyond me...
tows way better. Less bounce.
Malibu makes a longer, taller and cleaner wave.
Get a malibu I have 1 and they are great
Here's the stereo install. ruclips.net/video/E0VcgC2eUAU/видео.html
every thing you mentioned you don't need to do and is a waste of time and money
Depends what you’re into.
@@btuff yea true
You can’t compare a Malibu to a nautique, Malibu will win everytime, unless your just a rich guy that wants all the boooogeee lol stuff
