Hi! Thanks for checking out the latest demo version! Here's also a little recap of what's happening next for this project: - I'm currently developing the "commercial version" of RtV which will eventually lead to early access on Steam. - The goal of early access is to bring something unique and highly replayable to the survival genre (this demo is still far from that). - The next big milestone is Steam Next Fest (next year), this will bring multiple major updates and overhauls to the current demo. - In terms of development progression and milestones, the year 2025 is going to be a big year for this project :)
Will you have single bullet loading into magazine mechanic? This is important. Can’t find any game that has it except DayZ. Not even Tarkov has it, they have it but only in the inventory menu, no animations.
Bro, you're doing amazing work. I'm loving what you're doing so far. You're already on my wishlist, and once you drop an Early Access version that costs money, I'm throwing it at you. Keep it up, and good luck next year!
@@MelGibs-v7j It might not be your style, but Project Zomboid has that mechanic. Definitely not as realistic in terms of graphics, but the mechanics are VERY true-to-life. There's mods on the current build(41) that add bandit enemies, but nobody has ported it to the beta/unstable build 42 yet.
I wonder how much further along the project would be if the dev had stuck with Unity, given that they rolled all of the problematic stuff back and had a change in leadership. Though good for the dev, Godot is also a very promising choice where you don't have to worry about any of the licensing stuff... idk how the dev pulled the migration off, sounds like a huge project!
@@krissythecatboi I have no idea Krissy but I imagine if he really wanted a tuna melt factory he would've just done that instead. I kind of wish someone would make a tuna melt factory because it's something people need, kind of like how we need outhouses. Why don't people think of these things?

9:00 Pastilles are basically gummies, yes. They can be medicinal (for slow release and absorption) or just for flavour. Lozenges, gum drops, Mentos, Jujubes, Fisherman's Friend, throat drops, all those sorts of things.
This is wild. I remember when it was just a tech demo essentially. A gun or two and billboards explaining the vision and gameplay, simple transitions and a full debug to see different times. Seeing how far its come in such short time with a small dev team is INSANE. Glad to see smaller teams make things that will be remembered and enjoyed by plenty.

Huge props to Antti, amazing work developing the project - recently announced that he'll be self publishing. My eye sight is not good enough anymore to spport games like this. Digital eye strain has really taken its toll on me. I play stalker 2 well enough though.

this game really reminds me of stalker games with the small groups of roving enemy gangs and the looting mechanics. it seems very good and I cant wait to see how this game develops
Road to Vostok is the only game I've been truly excited about in the last 10 years. Target shooting is one of my favorite hobbies in real life and the gunplay in RtV is almost as fun as target shooting in real life. Combine that with unforgiving AI and you've got a game where it feels like every decision matters. Playing sloppily will end with sloppy results. And honestly, starting over from scratch from time to time really renews the game and makes insignificant loot feel significant again, even though I hated permadeath at first.
When you see there a house that has open doors be carefully most of the times there will be an enemy waiting you inside and also I recomend to close atleast every outdoors of buildings so you can hear if somebody comes in. You can also close your inentory when you are healing or eating so you can move around to take cover after fight. 13:30 for me the trader accepted under 100% makarov and akm. And you can crouch by pressing C. Here is something that I have found after playing that demo, really promising game but still waiting to things like sneaking, rolling (to dodge enemy fire), more animations and day and weather cycle.
> Water lock This is, what, THIRD major Finnish indie game to feature homebrewing kilju? ...I hope this will not be considered a mandatory feature when, in the distant future, I get around to release my games. Because I don't know how to incorporate that. I'm a beer person.
I personally never seen a sauna, but I think I am fine without it. The idea of sharing what is basically a bathroom with a bunch of complete strangers is way too embarrassing for me.
Interesting. Here in the states, if you have a gym membership to a mid-tier to upper tier gym they usually have saunas as part of the business. Being a trainer I've been lucky to have them in my sphere I guess.
This would be cool with a DayZ style inventory and gun interaction. reloading a gun by ejecting a mag and randomly pulling another full mag that doesn't exist isn't quite what I was imagining when Splatt said "realistic" guns. A proper inventory tht you have to drag loot to with the loot having different sizes and shapes and having to actually load ammo and carry spare mags would bring a lot more realism to the game.
the amount of HK mp5s with supressor cans encountered tickled me a bit, that gun is expensive and hard to get in the USA even for someone who lives in a gun friendly state like me.
PS the 'C' variant of Glocks just designates that it is a ported barrel / slide, not that it's full auto. Only the Glock 18 is full auto from factory, other models can be made full auto via aftermarket backplate.
Im interested in this and will keep an eye on until its been out for a month or so from 1.0. Im very hopeful as a Stalker gamma fan that this game has a similar atmosphere and progression design.
he dev explains in some of his early videos that he was a game dev teacher, not sure if he had professional experience tho and this is the second time he's making this as he had to rebuild in Godot when Unity pulled their runtime fee nonsense last year. personally, i wish he'd put some fantasy elements into the game like STALKER, some serious mutant beasts and weird happenings.
Apart from 'My summer car' most saunas in games are not quite right. I bet most saunas in the US are more of the 'warm dry room' variety. If you ever come to Finland I'll take you to a proper 'smoke sauna' (there's no smoke inside when you are using it).
- If you're comparing peas to lima beans and calling them "sandy" then you've only had poorly cooked peas. Seasoning, as with most things, is also crucial.
