How to fill the windshield wash fluid in a Subaru Forester

I have a 2023 Forester and I recently found out that at the base of the neck there is actually a fill line. Before I noticed it I filled it up the way you did. I don't know why they don't want you filling it past that line

My guess is to avoid spills when it get hot and liquid expands. The lid is no super tight so I do not think it will create pressure and damage pump!
