I don't think it's correct to say she's talentless. This creativity is a talent in itself.
Honestly thought the same the whole video. You may argue she has no traditional Idol/Vtuber talents but being THIS tech savvy and creative is one heck of a streamer talent.
I half-agree. She's just not a conventional VTuber with the talents that are associated with it, so yes, the tech-savvinness is definitely a talent, but I'd argue creativity isn't necessarily a talent. Then again, the debate is still up about that topic and nobody can really universally agree whether creativity is a talent or not. I just think it's the latter.
@@DepressedNousagi I think it's the use of talent"less" that is causing the issue. The word talentless is synonymous with being pretty much useless, and has a bit of a negative connotation to it. As such, it kind of makes it sound like Amelia could/cannot do anything. This is obviously *not* what you're actually trying to say, but I think it's the use of that word just makes it sound worse than you intended.
(Edit: I feel like my comment sounded more accusatory than I meant it. I was simply trying to explain my thoughts on why the original comment was made, I harbor no ill will or anger or any bad feelings towards your content here or anything like that).

If Amelia ever decides to retire from being a Vtuber, she can most definitely move into Hololive's content team with A-chan. She's insanely out of the box and hardworking that she alone sets trends without intending them to BE trends.

Reminds me of that meme where during all of her breaks a new gen is announced and so a-chan helps her for finding a new batch of talents.
She struggled on her very first singing stream, she got stage fright and ended up using playback because she couldn't handle the nerves, even if her recorded singing was actually good as a Karaoke performance.
She has now gone and performed on the stage with the other myth girls as an equal. She didn't have an original song, but she performed the song that she is the most recognized for and managed to engage the audience and get a surprised reaction from other Hololive members, nobody knew exactly what to make out of her choice for a song, but for everyone who had followed her streams and the other Myth girls, they knew that that song is unavoidable when Ame sings and it was just natural to expect it.
She is not a conventional Idol, and like Coco who turned being an Idol into her own unique style, people was generally expecting Ame to follow on her steps in more or less the same type of content, which she did an attempt at humoring for a while, but by walking away from that and actually doing her own thing her own way, is the most Coco-like thing she could have done, not following on Coco's steps but doing her own thing and creating greatness in the process.
She is now in a song with Kiara, organized the Off-collab with other EN girls, and continues to bring novel ideas even after the concert.
She may be setting the bar high but she is also exploring on different directions which is what makes real innovation.
She's gone beyond her original limitations and I hope she continues being able to do what being her satisfaction and happiness

That's why I'm really grateful to Kiara for her collabs with Ina and Ame, the uncomfortable-singers of Myth. Both have over a million views and were overwhelming successes. And she made them equals on the songs, so they can't claim no one wants to hear them.
Was it the "kiss me" song? I've seen her sing that one a lot, but I admit my interests are spread so wide with so many of the hololive girls that I really struggle to keep up to date. I wish I could've seen the 3D concert thing!
Ame is just a different entertainer as a whole. A pioneer among talents and I salute her for it. Ame being the so-called "leader" of the group is always intrigued me and after discovering and seeing first-hand what she can do, there is no doubt she is very suited to that role.
Ame really earned her spot as the leader of Myth and probably of HoloEN. I remember in her dancelesson stream with Myth Kiara said she views Ame as the leader and that says a lot to be seen as such even after more than a year.

One thing I always admired about Ame is how from the beginning she was able to put on her big girl pants on and put chat on their place when they were doing inappropriate or rude things like "raiding" other Vtubers (mostly her genmates) or when they backseat game her, heavily requesting her to collab with other VTubers, etc... She did it without it being overly rough to seem rude or overly passive to seem like a push over.
These actions also later on inspired Gura to take a more direct approach on how she wants to present her content instead of just following what managers or Covers says.
Also she knew she wasn't a good singer from the beginning and warned everyone while promising to get better at it; and seeing her get slightly better at it little by little was super endearing. Truly made me cheer for her.

My favorite song from her is and always will be the first time she sang the Moon Song from "Her". The way she sings it, with the score, was just too good in too many ways.

Also, remember she work all night to put the assets for the other 4 debuts too. Even come up with her one on the fly than the one she intended to do due running out of time. Proves to adapt at everything as well.
Finally she has her genmates to help her as well. Gura feel like a sister for her, in her own words. Kiara been giving it a lot of emotional support as well help her with things like the singing and dancing part this few months. If singing got improvement, i'm for sure Calli been helping Ame a lot to get better at it and she did. And finally Ina provide her with any artist feedback it need, since after all, one of her gen mate is literally a well known pro artist too ( -specially in AzurLane- ).
As non-usagi said in the video about Myth, this wasn't a randomly select unit when Myth was assembled. They knew they struck diamond with each one in a time when it was mostly need it.

Many have noticed Ame brings value in her creativity like no other. I think we just waited for the day someone made this video. A video she deserved.

These are some huge compliments and things I had never really considered until now. As much as I love what Cover had given us through Hololive and Holostars, they absolutely will always need at least one member out there that shakes things up and tries new things just for the sake of seeing if it works or not. They don't have to be abrasive or controversial they just need to be able to grab an idea and run with it to see what happens.

If i remember correctly Ame even said that one of her biggest influences was Coco. And before Coco left I think she recognised what Ame could do.

I wouldn't say that's fair to say she is talentless. Tech savviness, creativity and having a knack for being an entertainer are talents.
It's more accurate to say that unlike her colleagues, she doesn't possess majority of the conventional skills expected from someone in her position, but manages to be successful in spite of it.

Those are skills, not talents. Not everyone can be Celine Dionne, everyone can learn to become tech savvy or entertaining.
I think talent is nice to have, but too many wonderfully talented people just fall back on their talent and don't work that hard.
That's why I respect and admire Amelia and Calli so much.
They are such incredibly hardworking ladies.

I believe hoshimachi suisei is the best role model for that. Amelia watson however is the best role model to just do whatever it is you can do and stay courageous and confident even if you're different.

Myth is really a monster of a group.
In Depressed Nousagi's video about Myth, I can definitely agree that there might not be any other group/generation as big or as impactful as Myth in a very long time.
Cover really struck gold in this group and I am very happy that I was able to witness their massive growth as I tuned into vtubing just shortly before their release.
Late to this. After Myth launched one of the Japanese Hololive members said Myth was overly qualified. For Myth in particular cover hired people that were experts in things outside the traditional vtuber mold. They hired a linguist, an artist, a singer/songwriter, a techie, and whatever gura is. They weren't sure what would work in EN so tossed everything at the wall. Then.. they didn't do that for council. Myth is a one off. The experimental generation. I'd have liked them to have kept experimenting. Hire a writer, or a mathematician, or something. A hololive member with a medical background doing a collab on anatomy would be loads more chaotic fun than the language collabs. Just something different.

For me gura is a just great entertainment powehouse. Doesn't mean she's "just" an entertainer. She's "just" that damn entertaining.
And I agree. Their game streams are just vessels for their perspectives and personality to shine. So having other vtubers with other unconventional backgrounds will definitely be interesting. Plus, Myth members are already experienced in streaming/interacting with large amounts of people one way or another.
So yeah, there will never be a group like them. Or it would take a lot of time and a lot of luck to come up with such a super group.
Though Council is not that big compared to Myth, I think they are a great compliment to their personalities and further giving more niches to their audiences.

I like the idea that she's like a character in a superhero film with no powers or wealth, but ends up being one of the most important characters regardless.
Ame is the sole definition of an old school anime protagonist, honing her skills and always becoming a better version of herself than she was the day before.

One of my favourite things that Ame did was how she dealt with the wait for the official 3d, she led myths progress from VR 3d to the real 3d, I also like how she embraced the walfie fanarts, she gave smol ame lore and months later Cover picked up on it and gave smol ame a 3d debut IRL/mascot. Her energy and creativity are the reasons why shes my oshi.

Holomyth as a whole was a recruitment miracle. Not a single one was without exceptional talent. Amelia did what I always wanted to do - foster the creativity of the community into a self creating machine. Hololive is a family - you never truly leave. Amelia took that and made the community part of that. No longer are fans just fans, they can quite easily be part of the hololive canon.

Exactly. This guy spends so much time reiterating that he thinks Amelia is "talentless" and "lacks gifts and blessings" but also says she's really creative and innovative. The whole tone of the video makes no sense. A video praising her accomplishments and skills while saying she's got no skills and is basic and boring almost every other sentence....

I think what he means by "talentless" is that she lacks the average talent that they normally have such as being good at singing or good at art and makes up for it with her creativity and humor by coming up with new trends and stuff.
I love how ame has almost entire control of what she wants to do, and how she’s going to do it. She’s added so much to the community, and although she isn’t a traditional idol, that’s what I love about her.
Ame would always be my no.1 oshi, she creates stuff out of nowhere and always find ways to connect her fellow members and the community but didn't take much credit for herself, thank you for the great video!

as a long time teamate, i am incredibly happy to see a quality video taking on this woman and what she has done for Hololive. Ame herself said at least once she didn't know why she was there if she couldn't sing, had little knowledge in terms of dancing and felt like even her own personality clashed with the brand's image, as she repeatedly apologized and felt ashamed of the "FPS player toxicity" that the CS:GO lobbies of old and her past streamer cred provided her with.
while to many people like myself that made her only an easier being to connect to, the regular girl slotting herself in through personality and charisma alone, i don't think any of us expected truly how this gremlin would completely reshape the future of Hololive EN and create ripple effects across the entire vtubing scene through precisely that personality, charisma, and more than that, the will to do stupid things and take risks.
one of the teamates' most loving memes is the concept of "Ame Way", and how in games she plays she sometimes goes for hilariously unconventional, sometimes far harder ways to beat stages and puzzles than the correct path, because she's so stubborn and persistent she knows she'll be able to do it *that* way. she keeps at it to prove everyone who's telling her to go the "Correct" path wrong. and, spoiler alert, she usually does it. and in a sense, that's exactly how she went about getting into Hololive. Despite her not fitting in and feeling out of place, she knew she could prove everyone wrong and show that yes, she has a place in the hall of great idols that she looks up to, including her own genmates.
we loved Ame for what she was, but we would never know just how incredible her influence would truly be.

Ame could straight up start her own company (vtuber or otherwise) and become an industry leader with her innovation, ingenuity and creativity.
In a space filled with "content creators" Ame truly creates.
The innovations she presented are now pillars where most vtubers stand on. Even though she is the only human in the Myth lore, she is one of the most powerful and 5head streamers I’ve witnessed. I stand proud as a teamate and I’m proud of Watson’s improvements and milestones.
Ame is so lovable and a genius entertainer that's why she's my favorite in Myth!!
You did a wonderful job with your video, but I'd like to know your opinion about something: Every time someone makes a video like this praising Ame I'm overjoyed but also worried she might find it. Obviously she deserves it but I wonder if we as a community are putting too much pressure on her, expecting every time she streams that she makes something extra unique and creative, I hope that's not the case and she keeps doing her stuff out of pure enjoyment but that worry is always in the back of my mind.
I think that's just the general effect of praise and external affirmation in general. We all know Amelia Watson is great and we recognize her genius, and she in turn will try to live up to our opinion of her. The fans aren't necessarily putting pressure on her because our opinion is based on her achievements. In the end, it's all on Amelia Watson if she wants to pressure herself to keep impressing her fans and keep innovating.

I agree. However, I have to add that as fans, if we know she starts pressuring herself, it is our responsibility to attempt to lessen the burden. Either by informing her that she does not need to put the extra effort or by curbing our praise a bit so she gets time to adjust and adapt to the new perspective.
Amelia is a big girl and seems to act the most mature one out of Myth.
I'm sure she's already wise enough to not fall for the typical pitfalls of popularity.
Amelia Watson is the representation of wait the unexpected and surprise her target (fans) every single time. She didn't habe the experience in the music part like Calli, Kiara or Gura had, but she is talented as the magician of Hololive, every she does make us laugh and keep us waiting for more. Hell, i think her model original concept was just being a detective, she created the whole time traveler lore from air. Her lore is so deep that if you look at her wiki lore is one of the largest (dunno if many of it was writen by herself).
I also want to speak another talent that enter hololive by pure determination and the only that they allow her to enter with her model, Susei. She also is an inspiration of determination in hololive.
add Haachama in that pool as well. she is also a genius in her content. though by far i think her greatest achievement is Haachama lore. the Coexist arc in particular. (warning long wall of text below explaining Haachama lore with not perfect grammar.)
this juggernaut was an incredible mix of Haachama and Haatons. i have to plain out say it. you cannot get the full experience of Haachama lore ever again. i say this not out of arrogance i truly mean it because part of the experience of "Haachama lore Live", as i call it, was Haachama's IRL actions in conjunction with her streams. Haachama put 120% into the immersion. she changed her names on twitter and youtube as well as her manner of speaking and personality. if the lore at the time designated that Akai Haato was in control then she would speak and act like Akai Haato it was like she really was a different person. not only that but she hid the lore among her regular streams creating a tension on every stream because you never knew if or when the lore would drop aside from the telltale sound of an iPhone Alarm. speaking of the lore video segments these were a creation of both Haatons and Haachama together. the Haatons were in a frenzy of inspiration with the Haachama lore series and fanworks of the Haachama lore were being made left and right and Haachama was right there to grab them and use them for the videos and direction for what would happen next. and her voice acting DEAR GOD it was actually difficult to tell if she WAS acting or if it was real. it was so well done there were people suspecting that this was actually Haachama dealing with mental issues. it was that incredible. and her way of perfectly conforming to the personality of Akai Haato or Haachama was unbelievable. Haachama lore did more than just push the bounds of horror content in Hololive it smashed them. i firmly believe that it was because of Haachama lore that the idea of HoloERROR was given the go ahead. if you weren't there for the CoExist Arc while it was happening then you will miss the tension of every stream and the name changes of her twitter and youtube channels. yes Haachama lore is something incredible to behold.
I used to watch her a lot pre hololive. It just puts a smile on my face thinking about how far she has come and how much she's grown as a content creator. She really stands out from other creators, both within hololive and outside it. I just wish I had the time to watch her streams these days.
It's funny, I discovered Ame past life like 3 or 4 months before HoloEN, she did become one of my favorites very fast at the time I was getting into Vtubers. Of course, she surprised me every time since debut and every thing she did on Hololive. She really seems to shine more than ever, without stop.

Every time I see Ame pull out another crazy innovation, it feels like I'm watching an internet historical moment unfold.
I think the few lines for Ame's segment in the song "Journey Like a Thousand Years" exemplify her role and impact in Hololive.

She's here not for usual stage entertaining, but for long-term community growth. The whole Hololive lore now is on thin shoulders of this idol. Big respect and great gratitude to her.

Watson is the Batman of myth not because she’s lore wise a human detective but because she doesn’t complain about what she can’t do she finds a way to keep up with everyone else in myth and even occasionally outshines the others through sheer ingenuity.

Ame's off colab with ina and 3/5 members of en gen 2 was an important and amazing stream. After the whole Rushia incident the hololive community was in a dark place but with that off colab stream she made everyone smile
This video is fantastic, sometimes I feel like not nearly enough people notice how actually impactful she has been on vtubing as a whole and the gravity of everything she's done. I'm glad I chose her as my Oshi back when Holo EN first debuted and I first fell down the rabbit hole, so cool to see how far she's come and what she's accomplished since then.
AME INVENTED BEING A GENIUS
The amount of contributions Watson did can hardly be quantified so I will left it as immeasurable.
I have nothing but respect for ame, despite that coco is gone, she is keeping her promise for coco and keeping coco’s legacy going strong! With a bit of Hic here and there!
Coming back to this video several months later, I continue to be impressed by Amelia as she basically created her own space to help Kiara create a 3D birthday concert.
I hope Ame can see this for herself as well. Anyone who avidly watches her knows that she chronically undersells herself and appears to have some confidence issues - no doubt pertaining to what you mentioned. She can't really sing or dance or draw.
But she can lead, create, and, improve. Compare her singing from when she started to where she is now - she improved tremendously. And even her art, while poor is very charming and has a cute, unique style to it with designs that easily become memes in the community: look at the council halloween designs.
I hope Ame can realize this, or at least her friends can help her see it as it feels like her confidence issues can sometimes hold her back a little. You touched upon a lot of Ame's contributions to the company, but there's a lot more stuff that started with her. She was a lot of "firsts" in EN, if not Hololive as a whole. She was the first to do X review (such as room review, meme review) in EN, she was the first to do a movie watchalong in EN, not just the "feet on table" trend but the "hands over 2D avatar" spread because of her, those SC representations in a container (the SC fishes inside the tank), the post stream credits thing, there's a lot more but it's hard to keep track of them nowadays. I think she might even start a new trend, she just did the "3D hands over 2D avatar" thing for her first couple Twitch streams.
Ame is obsessed with trying something new. Even just for her game choices, she has a huge "first to play X game" list because she'd rather be playing games that people aren't currently playing/haven't played yet.
A sad thing about being a Teamate is that she actually has a lot of ideas that she just abandons (she started the hands trend but never used them after the first few times, no more Nature Review streams, we're still waiting for a sequel in Fish Tank), but it's offset by the fact that she just ALWAYS has another cool new thing to show off for us; she just never runs out of them. She's one hell of a trendsetter.
I'm so lucky to just stumble upon her. I didn't care about these creativity shit back then; I just took notice of her because of her ground pound clips, all those fucked up childhood story clips of hers, and her first karaoke with her shitty singing that I found so endearing. I didn't expect what she would be nowadays when I started followed her, I just found her funny and cute at first lol.

One of the many reasons I regretted not checking out Hololive way back when Gura's virus spread was missing out on the genius and creativity of Ame, but thats fine now because Im already here.
Ame has always been like this though. She always came out with skits, like a year ago we got the skit about the line up and giving us gold like the infamous "Gura in the pool needs floaties" 🤣.
I did not see myself in the clips, but at her outfit reveals I also got into typing up, up, up, up and playing the rock paper scissors. She has such a great mind to come up with these fun interactions with us, the viewers, and she is trying so hard to pull everyone together with Vrchat and the christmas ornaments everyone made, it truely is her strength to be a teamplayer and I love Ame for that 💛 She also is entertaining on her own, turning into our beloved gremlin when playing games and even if she is not the best singer of the myth girls, she gives it her all. I also enjoyed her 3D concert song Purupururin xD, it was cute with all the puddings 💛
See this is amazing. This video points out so much stuff I never even noticed or thought of. I know it's been said before, but this truly solidifies (At least for me) that Ame is the heart of HoloMyth, and maybe even EN as a whole. She made such huge changes just by doing some silly things, and has changed the community as a whole for the better. Even if I don't watch her that much, I hold massive respect for everything she's done not just for herself, for Myth, for EN, but for Hololive and Vtubing as a whole. Ame really is Coco's successor like you said.

She is such a great entertainer! I think that's why she was hired. I don't think she is talentless but I understand what you meant she isn't the best singer, dancer, lyric writer, or artist but man is she a fun entertainer to watch. Her creativity has shined through as her best asset but even if she wasn't just her talking to chat and telling stories is funny and entertaining!

I admire ame a lot for how innovative she has been. She’s brought in so many trends and experiences that have impacted the whole vtuber community and I seriously look up to her
I have been saying this for a long time and it is the reason that she is my favorite vTuber. I would even venture to say she is my favorite streamer in general.
I personally think Ame is one of the few members that is held back by being a Vtuber and being part of a company. She could get a lot of mainstream attention if she wasn’t a Vtuber with her creativity and she could really shine without having to worry about corporate things.
I would say her creativity rivals PewDiePie as both are incredibly creative, trendsetters, have a finger on the pulse of the internet, and can take something and make it into their brand (see smol Ame and Meme Review).
The reason why I started watching Amelia's streams are because of her amazing unarchived karaoke. Her creativity is off the roof. It's true that she engages with the community a lot. You can tell by looking at her chat while her stream is ongoing. Even her emojis are amazing.

It has always amazed me, the setup of myth, you have these mythical beings each one with outlandish powers and talents, and this investigator who brings them all together and brings something completely new to the table.
This video is what convinced me to finally join Ame’s membership, and I have not regretted it.
Theres a huge reason why Hololive myth swept up the vtubing scene in late 2020, each member is so unique but complement each other so well that it became like a superstar band.
Her talent is her creative mind. People can be good at singing or gaming but very few people been a creative genius like Ame is.

Just because she's not good at singing or dancing, doesn't make her talentless, simply not your typical 'idol-esque' talents.

I get that she came in with no conventional idol skills like singing and dancing (which she has improved immensely), but what she did come in with beyond the tech savviness is streaming experience and knowing how to interact with your community. They are linked with her tech savviness, but I would still consider them as separate skills.
Another thing about a dollar towards Ame is an investment that will always pay back:
It's largely because of the superchats and supports of her fans that she was able to get everyone in HoloMyth a complete VR setup with the additional trackers needed for full body setups.
This is especially *expensive* since it's been implied that they're all using Valve Index sets, at $1000 a set. And even then, that can only do complete hand and head tracking.
It's but one of many reasons why (like you said) a dollar towards Ame ALWAYS pays back for the fans one way or another.
