Ikr. When the cast was revealed, all i saw in every place were negative comments. But i was totally happy with the cast, and enchanted with the movie.
Now that we have the series a lot of people are like "I totally prefer the movie". I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT.

I just watched this movie today after bingeing the series and I can say that I favour the movies portrayal of characters but ruelle’s soundtrack elevated the show

Honestly, I love both casts. TV show and Movie. Although I kind of prefer Jamie as Jace and not Dom. But I also prefer Matt than Kevin as Alec or Harry as Magnus. I would say both versions show good and bad things. I really loved the movie and was also upset when I heard there won't be a second movie, but I watched the TV show and I really love it. Lily was perfect as Clary, Kat potrays her good too but I prefer Lily. I also prefer Isabelle from the TV series since she's looking more like the Izzy we know in the books, while Isabelle in the movie is way too serious for my taste. I am just happy to have watched both and I totally love the series and the movie.

Simply Meg what do you mean "she can't act for shit". I have been a fan of Katherine since the show "Jessie" that she appeared on and her acting skills aren't bad at all. Maybe it's bc Clary's character is supposed to be annoying and a talker. But I wouldn't technically call Kat a "bad actor".

I think the Actors from the show Shadowhunters need to embody what the actors from this movie did...the actors in the movie did an excellent job portraying the characters--even if if the movie wasn't great.

I also love how you can practically see that Lily really is the TMI superfan she has always claimed to be like how seriously she seemed to be thinking of who said Alec's quote (she was grabbing the chair even) and how she even beat Kevin in knowing the answer and was so excited when she got it right. You can just see how passionate she is for this story and it's great having a heroine like that so I'm very glad Lily was cast as Clary. She knows it so well AND she's one of us fangirls :)
I freaking love the books...I liked the movie a lot too..kinda didnt like the first ep of the tv series but it has grown on me since then..and I love it now.

this movie is perfect , you can see everything from the shadow world being exactly how it is , look at the demons and compare them with the glowy fireworks of the tv show , or the relationship between clary and jace it is perfect here and on the TV show its not there , it really makes me sad that the next movie its not coming out and that it couldn't be like the divergent or the hunger games movies , because this has so much potential this is a fabulous world and its really sad that not many people get to know it

This is the real cast! The best cast! The movie is so much better than the tv show. ( And yeas i know that much things have been changed). But i can't get over it!
The show sucks! In the tv series Jace and Clary are so far i way than what i imagine. Lily and Jamie are much better!

I read that they had the script finished but Cassandra said it was nothing like the book so they decided to re write it and actually take the time to make it good and that they were post poning the movie so they could do that

Yes that's exactly what i think cuz i'm just a huge fan of the books n whenever Clary is saved by Jace or someone else, they make the best parts. If you'd read further into the series, you'd see that Clary actually is indeed strong willed and an awesome fighter, so sorry but i still stand by my comment :/

I would have been forgiving of this film IF not for the terrible way the blotched the climactic bits of the movie/book and the failure that is the man who played Valentine. Piece of shit that guy was ruined the flick for me.
