- This is a UK DVD exclusive interview, I couldn't find it on youtube and I thought there were some really cute moments so decided to put it up. Sorry for the quality, I thought it would be 720 but apparently not.
I'm not sure when this was filmed but I am guessing it was when Jamie and Lily were still together. The interview was released on Jan 28 2014 on the DVD but the interview was clearly filmed before it was released in cinemas.
To me Jamie is the perfect Jace and Lily is the perfect Clary and the whole cast of the movie was at least in my opinion spot on. I've read half of the books and I still imagine this cast as the characters. The books had such a big potential to be made into a successful movie franchise and I hate that they only made one movie. I've watched it a million times 'cause I love Jamie as Jace, he's just perfect for the role and I wished there were more movies so I could see more of him as Jace. I still can't get over how well they did casting him.

The sad thing is that they were all so confident that the movie would be so successful but it didn't do so well which is also sad cause I loved the movie so much and I hate the director for dropping out of doing a sequel if it weren't for him they would have still done the sequel
Totally! I'm so mad I just saw the movie and they need to make another city of bones because the ending implied to much that there was going to be a sequel. It broke my heart

Yeah. I honestly CANNOT see Dom Sherwood as Jace, and Katherine looks nothing like Clary. Why is everyone so hyped up about the new cast? I mean, the Simon in the TV show is ehh, but the Isabelle and Alec is just like ughhhhhh. *facepalm* Casting fail for the TV show.

Yeah. Magnus is good. We can keep him, but bye-bye to the other characters and actors. And they also aged up the characters by 2 years which means Clary, Jace, Simon, and Isabelle are 18, Alec and Magnus are 20. And Clary's parents are goodness only knows how old.
Jamie Campbell Bower, when I read the books, I immediately thought of you as Jace.
At the end when Jamie puts his head on Lily when she pulls forward and his slow draw back is like he was caught with his hand in the cookie jar. What a cutie

This was like the only movie that I’ve seen that actually had so much context from the books to the movies unlike so many other films. Like a load of the lines were from the books which made me relate to it more. It just more relatable to the books than the series was.

I don't know why we haven't seen jamie in more films. I think he has such a strong look and an amazing voice. The fact that girls just all fall at his feet can't hurt either! I like watching him on screen, his presence seems to command your attention!

Till this day, a sequel with these actors is necessary. Every time I read the books, this is how I see them. Maybe Daddario for Alec but only because he’s taller.
I like Daddario for Alec, but with Jamie as Jace it's got to be Kevin, because they were so close in real life too. The cast of the movie was pretty much perfect. I'm sad that it didn't work out.

ExtreamlyB That's what I read on FB almost a month ago. That because the movie did so bad, they decide they're going to re-write & make into a TV so it tells more of the story & not be so cramped in a 1 1/2 hour movie.

I can't not mention it but since the interview started Jamie kept moving closer to Lily, and she's trying to lean away!!!! But finally he gets soooo close that she doesn't have any place to move away! And when the interview ends he LITERALLY lays his head on Lily's shoulder!!!! I'm like...O!M!G!!!!!!

I think so many people talk about Clace and Jamily and sometimes the actual skill of acting is forgotten. Jamie and Lily are both brilliant actors but I feel like not enough people give Kevin and definetly not near enough people give Robert enough credit for how amazing he is as an actor. I love you Robert. You were the perfect Simon and Kevin was the perfect Alec ♡

Does anyone else wish that they could still follow through with the rest of the movies? I’ve been rereading all the books during quarantine and I can’t help but imagine this entire cast as the characters in the books. I think Jamie is perfect as Jace, Lily as Clary, etc. I don’t want to trash the series because I’m sure they worked really super hard on it, but it’s just not the best in my opinion. I even cried when I looked up the City of Ashes and found out that they never finished the movie. I was so hopeful that maybe there was a second movie and I had just never watched it.

Watching this, in 2022, and hearing all the words from the cast and hearing how much they liked their work and what the result of the film was, makes me so sad. They were so perfect as the characters, this cast was amazing and the movies had so much potential. I'm still waiting for someone to rule for them again :(

I'm sooooooo happy Jamie and Lily are back together :D I only wished that they were casted for the TV series... I don't know if I'll watch the TV series now even though I loved the books. I just can't see Jace or Clary as anyone else but Jamie and Lily, as well as Robert as Simon and Kevin as Alec.

Jamie acts so naturally during the interview and I love him ❤️ He is so simple and nice person and has a lot of talents!
Judging from this interview and others, the cast seems to be so nice and genuine and it sounds like they really put their hearts and souls into this movie and it really paid off because I absolutely love it. Those who criticize the movie too harshly are too close-minded and are not watching the movie with the spirit it was intended to be watched with. I think everyone that was cast in the movie fit perfectly and I wouldn't change anything about it for the world. I remember when I first saw it in theaters I was so excited and I dragged my friends along. It lived up to way beyond my expectations! I loved it so much that now I own it on DVD! So does my friend! Being a teenager (aka the target demographic) I say they did very well at adapting The City of Bones. Seriously, if you're going to judge a movie badly, go judge the first Twilight movie because that one was at least 10 times worse than the City of Bones. So, keep up all the great work Lily, Jamie, Robert, and all of the cast and crew! Can't wait for City of Ashes, you bet I'll be watching! I'm sure it's going to be great! Whew! That was long! Don't judge, I like to write.

I wish they would just cancel the show and just continue with the movies the same cast and everything. I am honestly surprised they even considered going in another direction normally they just keep going anyway. On imdb the show is rated .2 higher than the movie which it should be more of 2 stars.

Jamie for being such a different and interresting person, Lily for being so sweet nice and corky at the same time, Simon just being a weirdo as he is in the movie, Kevin being so poised and sleek and yet looking bad ass :D I just love this cast, the cast is amazing and I don´t care who disagrees :D they did a great job.....Jamie is my favourite thx to Camelot, where his actinig was just fenomenol.
Robert will always be one of a kind. His personality is so infectious.

It's so adorable and sweet how at the end Jamie puts his head on Lily's shoulder but then kinda sad that she almost immediately bends forward away from him. If he did something that sweet I would stay still just to let him stay there. It shows true emotion from him.

I feel so robbed that we didn’t get the remaining movies. The casting was so perfect. I was mesmerized when Jace showed up on the screen in the club. To me, I was seeing the real Jace jump off the pages. And Robert as Simon is just too perfect. I know it’s because of Hollywood technicalities and profits etc but I wish the fans could rally together and get another movie made with the same people even though they are older now. The adaptation could be with somewhat older characters. Hey if people in their late 20s can play teenagers in Stranger Things, we can do it here!
lets just also point out that they had a whole section talking about how Cassandra was a part of it so that the heart and essence of the book was there. She allowed the changes to happen, so all those fans getting caught in the nitpicky details like... The author and creator of the world okayed it and approved it and helped make it what it was. The movie tried so hard to make sure the important essence of the story and characters were int eh show, they didn't just want to make a franchise they wanted to make something that did the books justice. And the cast cared so much, and when they talk at the end about being nervous to share it I got like emotional because they shared something so close to them and got shot down and burnt and for no reason. Why couldn't we have trusted and loved this like the creator of all of it did?

I never imagined Clary being carrot top red, I understand that on the covers her hair was firey but that was to make the cover look prettier and more interesting. Red hair is interesting because it is different in different lightings, it can be auburny or firey (with the same tone) it all depends on how the light picks it up. (this is coming from a red-haired girl [not carrot top orangey but more like the color of Clary or Jocelyns in the movie.])

It's ironic how they praise Cassie on how she like the projects n were happy with how characters n things were portrayed but then later in reality when the movie flop, Cassie backtracked n said she nvr had enough involvement n control over things, insinuating that she was not happy about how things were. It's one of the reasons i started disliking her. Anyways, this movie had many issues but i greatly enjoyed it n loved the main casts. The tv series, not so much. I'm pretty much out of this fandom now n are just glad that City of Bones were d film that brought me into the booktube n goodreads community. It was when i started reading novels. So these actors n the movie will always have a special place in my heart. Also, these ppl r just so likeable especially Jamie n Lily.

Awesome movie! Awesome cast! Since I found this DVD rental in my local library, I've watched it almost every day for the last 2 weeks. After the rental was due back, I bought the DVD the very next day... This movie draws you in to the fantasy from beginning to end, and leaves you waiting for more. Looking forward to the sequel and glad to see that the characters have such a close chemistry off the screen as well as on, and that they believe in what they've done. It's all good!
