How all of these players and many more millionaires are able to get away with their crimes is abhorrent. None of these players should ever have walked free after next to no punishments
For me the drink driving cases should be classed as Murder. You are knowingly endangering the lives of other by driving pissed, not only that they usually drive like utter morons as well. I remember the McCormick one very well. As a father of two young boys, it would sicken me to see he got off so lightly and was given a chance to return to Plymouth. Our justice system generally lets people off lightly but you can't help think that footballers and generally wealthy or powerful people to get much lighter punishments.
Sickening crime, but there's a really obvious distinction separate from murder. Does this need to carry as severe a punishment as murder? Probably, in certain cases.
He did a local tv advert about not being on your phone while driving literally a couple weeks before. Then he drove drunk....deserves everything he gets
Not necessarily but I don't entirely disagree with you. Getting into a car at all has the potential to put people in harms way so I think if you do anything that impedes your ability to do that safely then yes your charge should be severe. Its not like its an unknown entity and people don't know it's stupid
Well it maybe different in the UK but in the Netherlands u have murder, where u planned and prepared to kill someone, "doodslag" where u purposely killed someone but did not plan it and death by guilt, where someone died because of u but u didn't mean to kill the other person but still did, drunk driving (almost) never falls into the murder category here
Emre Belozoglu (ex-Turkish national and now Basaksehir coach) also killed someone via car accident when he was 18-19 and got away by flopping some money to the family.
Interesting! Thank you! In a following video you should add the Brazilian Edmundo. He killed 3 people in 1995. If one day you decide to make a video about football players assassinated, start from Colombia. You will find lots of material there. Cheers from an argie.
Most infamously, Andres Escobar. He scored an own goal in a match against the hosts (USA) at the World Cup in 1994 and was shot to death a few days later.
I did know about Patrick kluiverts case and even I was shocked that it didn't have a Wikipedia entry. I hope someone does an empirical entry after this video.

Crazy how easily some of them got away with it. Interesting video! Alfie how about doing a video on the remarkable rise of 1. FSV Mainz 05 throughout the last two decades? Would make for an interesting video in my opinion.
I hear ‘Estonian goalies’ and instantly think of Mart Poom, (I’m a Derby fan) and remember the day he scored the winning goal against us at Pride Park, and the whole ground stood up and applauded him. Was one of those little moments in football that even as a fan of the losing team, was just perfect. A Derby hero.
A video on Joey Barton would be good, I think. The word 'man' is one I refuse to use for that individual - it is not worthy of such a description. The fact that it is allowed to manage a League One club, as a role model for the young children of Bristol...absolute madness.
Edmundo, Brazilian striker in the 90s/early 00s, who played for Fiorentina and was called up for the 98 WC, also ran over and killed three people at a bus stop
In Brazil there's also the case of Edmundo, who in 1995 killed 3 people in a car crash. He went on to play for several teams and today he's even a TV sports commentator. Theres literally two lines about it on his wikipedia page, and most people treat it like nothing happened.

Can you make the best version of prison FC? Requirements are that they must have been found guilty of some sort of crime, doesn’t really matter which, but I’d give bonus points for more serious ones
The one thing we can take from this video is that sport stars gets away way too often with the punishments with small punishments compared to normal civilians.
It can sometimes go the other way, especially leading up to Christmas. Sports stars can get harsher punishments to send out a message. That's wrong too, although, in Tony Adams case, it was probably the best thing that ever happened to him. He was convicted of drunk driving after crashing into a wall. As a first offence it was surprising that he got a four month prison sentence considering there was nobody injured but the authorities needed a poster boy to highlight their anti drink driving campaign.

@HITC Sevens On Kluivert his Dutch Wikipedia it states what happened. It did propably keep him at Ajax for a season longer. Although he did not play much in the 96/97 season. There's lots more, sadly, many in South America for example. Johnny Herrera, winner of the Sudamericana and Copa América, former Chilean International, and a club legend for a club I support, was a renowned goalkeeper. He was also the killer of a young woman in a traffic accident produced by his drunk driving in 2009. He settled off court for just 25 thousand dollars. He was caught drunk driving again in 2012, and the case was re opened, and he was found guilty and charged with 5 weeks of prison and lost his licence to drive for two years. That's all. His career was largely unaffected, and he continued to play until recently, when he retired and became a pundit.
Sadly south America is still behind the rest of the world on domestic violence, racism and many others. In Argentina rape isn't always taken seriously for example

He was playing in France at the time (Sochaux) and was not cleared by the club when the World Cup came around.

@@sukhdevr3489 Wow sorry I didn't get any notification that you left a comment. All we knew is what was reported in the UK . Absolute madness that it took this long and then dropped. But since that happened people do want him back on our national team once he gets back to playing.
@@agnarkb No problem my friend. It's such a shame. He was one of my favourite players at Everton, such a clever player. If he genuinely did nothing It's pathetic how they can just ruin his career then move on.
Amazing video Alfie. In Chile we have two cases, Johnny Herrera, former GK of the national team, Universidad de Chile, Audax and Everton from Chile and Santos in Brazil, killed a woman in a run over accident (around 2009 maybe), driving drunk an over the speed limit. And other case very recent, Luciano Cabral, argentinan born, chilean by parents, was convicted for murderer. He was release from prison last year and now play's for Coquimbo Unido, team in primera división here.
regards!
Erick Pulgar igual no?

Murder is when u planned to kill someone and then do it, with a carcrash u normally don't plan to kill the person in the other car
Came here to just say that :)
Alfie I’ve just had surgery and have woken up to watch the peoples channel. This is exactly the content I need right now, thank you
Interesting!
Rene higuta was jailed for kidnapping, asprilla was involved in shootings
I did know about Patrick kluiverts case and even I was shocked that it didn't have a Wikipedia entry.
I hope someone does an empirical entry after this video.
Wiki editors on it like a flash. I added a note about his case to his article and already two other people have reviewed, edited and written more about it.
@@import_xlsxwriter aye thanks mate! That's great
The beauty of Wikipedia. If something's missing, it won't be missing for long. Nice paragraph with three sources in there as it stands.
Marcos Alonso drives me crazy.
Cry
Deep
Could be worse, could drive you into a wall and being pronounced dead 30 minutes later
Keep it in your pants
He drives himself crazy aswell unfortunately
Crazy how easily some of them got away with it. Interesting video!
Alfie how about doing a video on the remarkable rise of 1. FSV Mainz 05 throughout the last two decades? Would make for an interesting video in my opinion.
I hear ‘Estonian goalies’ and instantly think of Mart Poom, (I’m a Derby fan) and remember the day he scored the winning goal against us at Pride Park, and the whole ground stood up and applauded him. Was one of those little moments in football that even as a fan of the losing team, was just perfect. A Derby hero.
That’s a blast from the past for me and now I’m remembering Paolo Wanchope! Interesting side.
@@jmacdon4 When Wanchope announced himself by waltzing through the Man U defence like it wasn’t there 😊🐏
In almost every video Danny drink water somehow always makes it😂
i'm an ac milan and quite the football history nerd yet still didn't know about kluivert killing through dangerous driving. thanks for sharing, alfie
A video on Joey Barton would be good, I think. The word 'man' is one I refuse to use for that individual - it is not worthy of such a description. The fact that it is allowed to manage a League One club, as a role model for the young children of Bristol...absolute madness.
Btw someone has just edited Kluivert's wikipedia with the 1995 incident. Good work HITC
Edmundo, Brazilian striker in the 90s/early 00s, who played for Fiorentina and was called up for the 98 WC, also ran over and killed three people at a bus stop
Zaha and Bolasie murdered many a full back when playing together, partners in crime
‘Mistakes happen in life’ this guy is saying arranging someone to be kidnapped, Strange’s and dismembered is the equivalent to general misdemeanours
Don't forget Tomasz Hajto, a Polish national team defender and ex-Schalke player, who never got punished for killing an old lady with his car.
You’ve been killing freddy adu in almost every video
In Brazil there's also the case of Edmundo, who in 1995 killed 3 people in a car crash. He went on to play for several teams and today he's even a TV sports commentator. Theres literally two lines about it on his wikipedia page, and most people treat it like nothing happened.
you should do a video explaining why socrates joined garforth town at the end of his career its a fascinating story why such a good footballer went to a non league english team
Can you make the best version of prison FC?
Requirements are that they must have been found guilty of some sort of crime, doesn’t really matter which, but I’d give bonus points for more serious ones
If big dunc doesn’t make at least the bench I’d love to see who got ‘ahead’ of him
The one thing we can take from this video is that sport stars gets away way too often with the punishments with small punishments compared to normal civilians.
If TIFO did it, it's probably good but short. I call for a full Villaplane video
Insane that I didnt know the Kluivert story and that it isnt even on Wikipedia.
Why do you feel Wikipedia is the standard?
@@spsawyer22 Something as big as that is generally ALWAYS included on the wikipage. Its VERY odd its not there and wouldnt be surprised if he used his resources and influence to get it whitewashed as much as possible.
@spsawyer22 it kind of is, Wikipedia is open to everyone and it should give you all info you need (of course surface level)
@@gabsnandes7818 I'd agree with you if it didn't still have just blatantly false things on several pages
As a town fan, I remember that goal celebration David Norris did away at Blackpool and as a 13 year old, once I learned of the context, it felt wrong on so many levels
I remember McCormick case well, coincided with the Ian Holloway golden era with Plymouth in the champ. He was a quality keeper & that crash seemed to coincide with Plymouths downfall. Anyway, should have got life
I knew Marcus Alonso would make the thumbnail 🤔
the fashion sense of manchester united players in 2005 is actually highly rated now
@HITC Sevens On Kluivert his Dutch Wikipedia it states what happened. It did propably keep him at Ajax for a season longer. Although he did not play much in the 96/97 season. A season that was a dreadfull one where Ajax only reached the semi final of the CL league, but only became 5th overall in the Dutch League and ending van Gaals reign on somewhat of a downer.
A goalkeeper born in Coventry. That's a dangerous mix.
Least Old Icke never killed anyone😂
I love your videos. Comical and informative every time. Cheers!
Barcelona has a knack for attracting criminals... Their last two presidents, Marcos Alonso and Dani Alves as of late.

I wonder if klueivert ever donated any of the millions upon millions he has made over his career to the family of a life-long Ajax fan. That one hit me hard Alfie. And my inquiry is not out of animosity, yet pure curiosity. Because I have always looked up to this footballer. One of my favorites of all time. Legend. That why I watch your videos. Not that I will judge him regardless if he helped the family of that man he killed. But damn! Jmo. Thank you again. My wife is battling cancer and your videos(and football period) has kept me sane. And the one thing I actually find pleasure in anymore. And your channel is top! Thank you. As always.
Nah he just murdered someone and got away with it
@@Conici_AU truly sad!
Bro poor Freddy Adu, you keep nailing him with new and original puns every video, its like i know what you are going to talk about but not how you say it
This man dishes out quality content every 3 days ffs
A recent incident that is similar is with a Mexican Youth player that had a high potential to be world class.
Joao Maleck killed a newlywed couple (1 day as a married couple) while under the influence in 2019. He only served a bit of jail time. He was playing in Spain (Sevilla) at the time of the incident and now is playing in a lower division in Mexico.
Another incident was Charlie Davies in 2009. He missed out on the 2010 World Cup. Although he was not driving, he broke curfew as the USMNT was getting ready to play Costa Rica in a WCQ in Washington DC and the SUV he was in, lost control and crashed. One of the passengers passed away. He suffered some injuries that took some time to heal up. He was playing in France at the time (Sochaux) and was not cleared by the club when the World Cup came around.
Was speaking to someone once at the Hawthorns, who claimed he'd seen Lee Hughes in the pub a couple of weeks before, and he'd claimed he was innocent, and was actually covering for somebody else who had been driving his car uninsured
I dont think the lad who told me would lie about such a thing, and ifk if Lee was lying, but interesting that he would come out with something like that to a fan in a pub
so basically if you want to kill someone plan ahead and become a footballer, chances are youll avoid jail time
I'm not a professional Footballer yet but i play leftwing and i killed 10 hitchhikers on the spam of 2015-2020, hopefully i can go professional and make it to this this list
would like a video about the Bosman-ruling, you could argue that this was the founding stone of todays exorbitant transfer fees and salaries. Also Bosman (who was the "victim" of the ruling) lives in striking poverty today, which is sad to see, especially because he never wanted it to happen this way.
Because sadly he was blacklisted from all of football and still hated by alot of people
Well done HITC for even finding 7 footballers that killed people.
Wow, Lee Hughes is playing for Stourport Swifts?
I used to play against them as a kid.
What a nice and light content to wake up to in a Monday morning 😊
2:08 Bruno Haters finding one more reason to hate on him
Kind of a major one 🙄
Israeli footballer Yiszhak Asepa of M.S Ashdod was sentenced to 4 years in prison for a hit-and-run traffic accident, causing the death of a 10 yo boy. Then 19. Asepa is back playing for the club after being released from prison, having his sentence reduced to 3 years.
Eliza Samudio's kid with Bruno, Bruninho, has signed a youth contract with Athletico Paranaense about the same time this video came up. Bruninho is also a goalkeeper, like his father. Curiously, Flamengo's current goalkeeper, Santos (the player not the paulistan club lol), came from Athletico's youth system.
Delicious humour for such a dark topic. The double-life pic of Hannah Montana killed me :p
Poor Grant. It’s insane that he got a life sentence given the whole gang violence thing
Didn't Lee Hughes also score the first goal at the Juventus stadium when they (Notts County) played the opening match there?
Knew Luke McCormick was gonna be on here as an Argyle fan. Man served some hefty time and still played a long career.
Killed two little kids and got 4 years doesn't seem that long two life's were lost 8 and 10.
4 years is hefty time? Scumbag should’ve been locked up for life
Hefty time 4 years killing 2 little ones. Do me a favour, hope he fing rots. As a father it's heartbreaking tbh.
f... you..he killed two little kids..
I got another one thats currently happening, in November 2021 Rai Vloet (Back than of Heracles Almelo) was speeding at around 200 km/h on the A4 highway near hoofddorp, he was under the influence of alcohol and got into a car accident which left a 4 year old dead
Lee Hughes played for my team West Brom and now plays in the same league as my local Non League Club who I watch in Darlaston Town 1874 FC. He didn't play against Darlo when I saw them play Stourport
Kluivert’s Wikipedia seems to have been updated since this video was posted. It does mention the incident in his personal life section!
Would love the HITC Sevens treatment on the 1975 European Cup final given it was probably the most corrupt final of all time. KUTGW
Sergey Yuran. He also killed a person in a car crash while playing at FC Porto
Erik Pulgar, today player of Flamengo in Brazil, also served time for a drunk drive incident. Jhonny Herrera, former keeper of Chile national team, same thing.
Anybody know what's going with the ref's hand at 15:28?
I had a season ticket at wycombe the year they signed Gavin Grant. Looked a great prospect - direct and proper rapid, if he improved his touch he could’ve made it at top level.
He disappeared after a dozen or so games and no one knew why, club were saying personal reasons, and then he gets sentenced for murder.
Good times
What's striking is that all of these kind of got away with it, served relatively mild punishments and then were able to continue their careers.
The first name that came to mind when seeing your title was Bruno, although I must admit as a fellow Brit I'm surprised you knew about it and included him
In the Netherlands a footballer named Rai Vloet got a 3,5 year prison sentence for getting in a fatal car crash while drunk!
