I’ll always end up catching a bunch of fungus gnats instead 💀

Would that work to eat the mould in a terrarium? I have a bunch of fungus gnats in my tomato plants so that would be easy.

Could this trap work to get rid of them too? I have a severe infestation in my shower and I've tried everything but it doesn't work.

You could just set the trap and then you get them trapped in just get rid of them in whatever way

i wonder if i can do the same thing but try to catch them with rice?

    • @hermitgarden9150

I think it should work. rice is often used to feed springtails in springtail cultures because it grows a little mold

Why would you want to introduce those pests into your house???! I'm trying to get rid of them!

For bioactive enclosures (mainly for animals and they usually have plants too)

Uhhh they are not pests. You usually find them in healthy soil, and they help keep it that way. All they do is eat decaying matter, mold, fungus, etc. That is a good thing.
They are used in terrariums to help manage the messes caused by waste (poo), again fungus and mold, among other things you don't want building up in your setup.
No reason to waste time trying to get rid of them.

If they are in your house unintentionally, there is a problem in your house, the problem isn’t the springtails.. they serve as an indicator in this case but are otherwise harmless to you!
