there are some sprays that you can find online that are proven to stop dog fights, and they are not harmful the the dog. they just irritate the nose a bit and the sound of the spray helps. I have seen them being used by a trainer in of me and my service dog's classes, and both dogs stopped immediately
I love hearing about other gear shy dogs, my girl is about 1/2 way through her training but some days she just doesn’t wanna put gear on. Feels nice to be able to relate to another team.
Late reply but, my doggo was gear shy too. He isn't anymore because I trained him to think that his harness is fun. It's easy to train too! Sit on the floor next to your doggo and put a treat on the harness or near the harness. Then when they are okay with that, pick it up and put it down after 1-3 seconds and give them a treat. When they are okay with that, put it in front of their face and if they smell it, give them lots of treats and praise! After they are okay with smelling it then unbuckle the bottom of the harness and put a treat through the neck hole and guide their head through. If they don't put their head all the way through, that's okay! Just give them lots of treats and praise for any interaction. After a while, lure them with a treat to put their head through then lay the back of the harness on their back. Just keep working slowly and use lots of treats, then they will associate their harness with food! When they are finished with training, continue to give them a few treats every time you put on or take off the harness. I recommend using a vest instead of a Y front harness. The vest is easier to use if the front strap goes straight around their neck/chest. I hope this helps! If you need any more help, feel free to ask!
That’s because the most of the general public (not everyone) thinks that either every dog out there is their own personal toy that they can mess with, even if they’re in full gear or that if they’re not in gear they’re fake service dog.
When you ordered the Yup harness, what did you put for color, was it black / Sheepskin? (I am thinking of ordering one.) Also how sturdy is the counterbalance?
Once I realise I had no poop bags, I was like 'am I willing to use my £5 note?' 0_o In the end I decided no way I was picking up shit with money lmao so I just went home then went back with a back to pick it up lol we were near my house anyway and my dog is a 9lb chihuahua, the poop was like a raisin and in a pile of leaves so highly unlikely anyone would stand in it in the 5 mins I was gone
That’s me to, if I don’t have a bag I’ll go home and get one. I can’t leave poop sitting there. I get so mad when people leave their dogs poop out for others to step in. Especially in the middle of the sidewalk 🤦🏼♀️
@@dallastheservicedoodle7236 omg I HATE that (poop left in the middle of the street)! I've seen people WITH nags, leave shit in the street because 'no one saw me' 🤬
The pink and blue is so cute. Did you make it? With all of the gear, so you just switch it out with what you feel like with winter and summer gear and just choose the colors you like that day or depending on which gear you need that day with sturdiness like using a yup over a self made strap? How do you choose what you’ll use on Dallas each day with all the different gear you showed us? I’m learning.
Mostly like it depends where I’m going. If I’m going somewhere like a doctors appointment or college visit I’ll use more professional looking gear. If it’s hot out I’ll use light weight gear. Also sometimes I’ll try to match her to my outfit 😂. But also if I’m having a bad health day I’ll use gear like yup harness
Where exactly did you get the nylon crossbody leash? I like that the length is adjustable. I am 5’3” and I have a Standard Poodle. Not sure what length to get.
Hello!! My name is Chelsea and I am about to start training my dog to be a service dog for my anxiety. I just wanted to say that I love your RUclips videos and wanted some advice on training! Are there any videos/books that you recommend for training?
Hi, thank you so much. I didn’t read any books or watch videos. My advice would be take it slow. Don’t burn out your dog. Start with normal puppy classes and ease into PA slowly as your dog is ready. Best to start in pet friendly places It’s also a good idea to have a trainer who has experience with service animals and uses the training methods that work best for you and your dog. It’s not going to be a straight easy path. You and your dog are going to go through phases and have challenges, it’s good to have a trainer to help guide you when u are struggling
I can’t find a link for the harness I got bc it was a custom harness. But if u go to yupcollars.com and go to service dog gear they will have lots of options you can choose from and u can customize it and pick the colors and tell them how long you want the handle to be. They have Y front and straight front and u can either get a rigid handle or simi rigid like mine.
Can someone tell me what the counterbalance strap is for? I live in Germany and I've never really seen them here and I can't find them on any harnesses here :)
People who might get dizzy on occasions will hold onto the strap and the dog is trained to lean the opposite way from u. So you are leaning one way and the dog is leaning the other way which helps someone who is dizzy be able to balance better
I love the fighting invisible disabilities
Thank you for showing the crossbody leash in all of its configurations. Quite helpful.

I’ll have to find some of that. I worry that pepper spray is to strong
@@dallastheservicedoodle7236 yes and you run the risk of harming yourself even if you use the spray properly just because it is an aerosol/spray.

Ruff wear website had the adjustable cross body leashes. They can convert into a regular leash, over the shoulder, or around the waist
