Why would she go looking around the workplace for the letter if he forgave her? It's not a coincidence they went there to get the letter. She also wanted them dead because she knew he was going to report her to the police and she would never work in a position of trust where she could steal again.

      Pretty much. I can’t imagine anyone thinking differently. She wrote that letter hoping for mercy but Paul probably didn’t give her a clear answer about losing her job or paying it back. She likely figured the doctor had more money at the house and those guys went there hoping to eliminate the “problem” and find more money.

    • @Mike--Oxmall
      @Mike--Oxmall 4 месяца назад +25

      Considering he didnt suspend or report her straight away I believe shes probably telling the truth. The house wasnt robbed either, its like they were just looking for the letter. It seems they genuinely believed that getting rid of the letter with her confession on it would clear her of the crime. The idiots didnt seem to realise that all the doctor needed to prove her guilt were the bank records showing her writing cheques to herself.

    • @Fcreceptor
      @Fcreceptor 4 месяца назад +7

      @@Mike--Oxmall not necessarily. The doctor might have told her “we’ll talk about it later” or something along those lines to indicate he wanted to mull over how to appropriately handle it. And the murderers who actually broke in and killed him and his son might have ransacked the house looking for cash. Theft of property would just put the spotlight on them and they seemed to have had a good idea on how to get away. They cleaned the car of prints and the police had no clue who actually committed the crime. I’d say they almost got away with it.

    I mean, I guess I'm confused about Maria's story. She says at trial that she tore up the letter, but how did it get in his jacket? And then she blames the police for rewriting the letter even though the whole purpose of her tearing up the letter was so that no one would know about the letter, so if she tore it up, how would the police even know that there WAS a letter in the first place? Strange coincidence that the police make up a letter apologizing, and she happened to also write a letter about the same subject but tore it up, isn't it?

    • @SeenGod
      @SeenGod 4 месяца назад

      yeah see that’s why she’s a lying sack of shite, because if she knew somebody actually found the letter eventually, then she wouldn’t have said in court that she tore it up, so she didn’t actually know the letter was found

    • @windowpain1
      @windowpain1 4 месяца назад +19

      I'm also confused, as I was initially assuming the letter was discovered in the jacket after she claimed she ripped it up, which is why the letter would be treated as the smoking gun in the story--proving that she had lied. But it sounds like she only first says she ripped it up during the trial, after the letter was discovered, which would be weird time to make up that lie.

    • @davidhollenshead4892

    • @rheap129
      @rheap129 4 месяца назад +12

      @@davidhollenshead4892 Right, but that seems weird cause in her story, they found the letter before they even knew she wrote a letter. And nobody was even searching for the letter-it was just found and the police ignored it for years. So it’s strange considering that she first says she couldn’t find the letter (and it was so important that she get it back), but then at trial she now says she tore the letter up and there was no need to get it back, so her friends killed him for literally no reason.

    • @madsdee7803
      @madsdee7803 4 месяца назад +17

      She changed the story to ripping up the letter after the prosecution pointed out that she was to blame for the murders because her assassins went in there for the letter. No letter = no crime by her lol. She was reaching. What I don't understand is why people believe a lying thieving murderer when she says her boss forgave her and was going to keep her on as an employee. There's no proof of him forgiving her and that would be why he and his son were killed. Because she never would have got another job with them alive knowing what she did.

How would they have known about it when only she and her acolytes knew about it?? And that letter when it was found, even if assuming it was "planted", didn't even do anything to help with the case! What was the police supposed to gain doing that?! And if the letter was indeed retrieved by her (contradicting her own initial testimony), why did the home invasion still took place? Wouldn't it imply that the goal was always to kill Dr Jarrett, if the letter wasn't even in the picture? Isn't it obvious she simply changed her story to cover for her a$$, to feign that she didn't even have anything with the burglary to begin with, to get out of that charge too?? This is wrong, the crime of home invasion applies only when people are home, otherwise it is a burglary or a break and enter and then a charge of theft. It is something most people do not know and just go along but a home invasion has to be people having their privacy invaded by outsiders in their home.
