Quelle merveilleuse interprétation ✨✨✨✨✨✨ 👏👏👏👏👏 On n'entend pas souvent ce compositeur et cette œuvre. Superbe performance !!!! Merci infiniment de nous partager ce magnifique moment. Immense BRAVO 👏👏👏 🎶🌟🌺🎶🌟🌺🎶🌟🌺🎶🌟🌺❤️❤️❤️
I know this work Philip the first Partita is set to a well known hymn in the Scottish Hymnal- thanks so much dear friend for playing all 12 Partitas - every blessing from you old Australian/Scottish friend.
Nice that you recorded this partita, Philip. I know the famous recording by Wim van Beek on the Schnitger organ of the Martinikerk, Groningen by heart from my teenager years (he omits the last variation, which is understandable), so it's nice to hear a different interpretation. Well done. And wise to not record everything in one take. A recording will last a long time, so you want it to be as good as possible.
I didn't know that recording but I will see if I can find it! There is a simple and straightforwardness to Böhm's style that I really like. Yes, I try to make my recording as one takes. When it is 20 minutes I can't make it good enough in one take.
Dear Philip, first of all I have to say that this is a really great and totally harmonious recording. With the wonderfully successful ornamentation, you have captured Böhm's always slightly French flavour very well. I really like the way the articulation change at 6:44 creates an echo effect. I see that you opted for the trio at the end (which, by the way, you perform with great musical rhetoric). I think that you solve the problem of the transition from harpsichord-like movements to a completely organistic final movement very well by already introducing the pedal in Partita 11 (an idea that never occurred to me, although it is so obvious 🙈). Partita 11, by the way, has such a great majestic gravity and the echo effect is a nice idea to take away the danger of monotony from the movement. It was a pleasure to listen to the recording. With a playing time of almost 20 minutes, it is probably the longest recording of the work that I know. Now it really is "Böhm's Biggest" as promised in the thumbnail. 👍
Dear Nils-Ole So wonderful to read your kind comment and sorry for replying late. I know that my recording is perhaps too long but somehow I couldn't make it shorter. Perhaps at my live recital it will be not as big :-D Thank you very much and once again, thank you for YOUR recording which is awesome!
@@philipaggesen Thank you for your kind reply. Just to be clear: I don't think the recording is too long by any means, but good as it is. I just found the link to the thumbnail amusing.
Dear Philip, This is beautiful, it’s not a piece I know, but I’m enjoying getting to know it! You play it with great feeling and expression. Thank you for another masterwork for my collection.
Thank you for this beautiful interpretation! Your videos are so pleasing to watch (although could be a just tad brighter) and listen to. The organ is a beauty; which model is it? It is a Noorlander, right?
Thank you for taking the time to write such kind words. It is indeed by Noorlander, it is their Avanti III model. It is great also to get some feedback as to the video quality. I will try to be mindfull of it. Is it overall brightness you would like to be higher?
