Hello, Jennifer.😊 Thanks a lot for the amazing interview with Steve. I found many of his words both impressive and informative. For example, "Enjoy the process.", "Don't try to be perfect.", "Trust the brain.", "Polyglots accept uncertainty.", "Forgetting is part of the process.", "Put in the time." and MORE. We tend to pursue good progress, but it might ensue as we simply keep going. Thanks Steve❗😊
My favorite part of this interview was when he talked about the importance of enjoying the process while learning a new language, because when you are enjoying it the process becomes way easier, so I’ll keep going further knowing that every day I’ll get better!
That’s very true, because it’s naturally easy to learn languages that are enjoyable, so it’s very important to only choose pretty languages with mostly pretty words, as pretty words naturally bring a lot of joy to the eye / ear and a naturally motivating! I highly recommend learning English 2gether with Dutch / Icelandic + Norse / Norwegian as they are the prettiest and most refined and most poetic languages ever, and all other Germanic languages are also gorgeous, so they are all a great option, and also Welsh / Breton etc and the other 4 modern Celtic languages, and there are a lot more, honestly, but I am learning them all, and learning 15+ languages at the moment! I am writer level in English and upper advanced level in Dutch and intermediate level Icelandic / Norse / Welsh and advanced level in Norwegian, and the learning process is always a lot of fun!
By the way, my current levels are... - intermediate level in Old Norse / Icelandic / Welsh - writer level in English + native speaker level in Spanish - upper advanced level in Dutch + advanced level in Norwegian - mid intermediate level in German / Swedish / Portuguese / French / Italian - beginner level in Breton / Hungarian / Gothic / Latin / Faroese / Galician / Danish / Slovene - total beginner in Cornish / Manx / Irish / Scottish Gaelic / Aranese / Elfdalian / Gallo / Limburgish / Occitan / Luxembourgish / Catalan / East Norse / Ripuarian / Swiss German / Alemanic / Austrian German / PlatDeitsch / Greenlandic Norse / Friulian / Pretarolo / Sardinian / Neapolitan / Sicilian / Venetian / Esperanto / Walloon / Ladin / Guernsey / Norn / Burgundian / West Frisian / North Frisian / East Frisian / Finnish / Latvian / Estonian etc (and the other languages based on Dutch / German / Norwegian / Italian / French that are referred to as ‘dialects’ but are usually a different language with different spelling etc)
Steve Kauffman’s ability of becoming a wonderful polyglot is something that not everyone’s cup of tea but it also means that other people also acquires that skill if one can have that desire of learning without feeling of failure and guilt. Just keeping important things in mind are Acceptance of mistakes, true enthusiasm, confidence and strong desire and enjoying the entire process of learning in an elaborate way. I respect Steve Kauffman and his patience and dedication.

Hi Jennifer! Thanks a lot, Steve, for the awesome tips for learning English, and thanks to Jennifer for the excellent questions! Steve gave us students with his “pep talk” a lot of encouragement not to be afraid of mistakes, to have a good motivation, and to put in time to learn more. As for me when it comes to learning English, I tick most of the boxes as I have good motivation, I am not afraid of making mistakes, and I study regularly. The foundation is solid! Speaking English is especially difficult, and I make mistakes mostly then, but like Steve said: that doesn't matter, just keep on trying!
Thanks Steve I was following closely and I picked up a great deal of knowledge about learning new languages. English is my second language and I have an insatiable desire to learn and become fluent. I'll keep learning while maintaining a positive attitude. I can only get better in the process. Thanks Jennifer for inviting Steve. I really appreciate it.
Excellent interview. I totally agree with Steve. I learned Portuguese from listening to Brazilian shows and podcasts everyday for about 2 hours, no grammar. About two years later, I visited Brazil and I thought I got enough language to "survive". I was very surprised when I started speaking with locals and they understood me! I felt so happy!! All that passive learning got transformed into active communication. Language learners, keep "consuming" the language of your interest. Eventually it will come out more naturally.
Thanks, Steve and Miss Jeneffer for this amazing and productive conversation, definitely I love all the experiences, techniques and information that Steve shared, I am really sure that the process is the key to learn this complicated but loved language.
Thank you Jennifer for doing this interview with Steve Kaufmann, actually he’s second to none in terms of learning as many languages as possible. The video is not only worth watching but also saving so one can watch it again and again .. Very interesting ideas indeed ❤

Thanks Steve and Miss Jeneffer for this valuable video. You mentioned numerous priceless tips which was incredibly amazing to us. There is no shortcut for learning. You have to enjoy the process of your learning and honestly we have to be patient while we are learning the good things will come to you eventually. This completely happened to me when I was younger. Thanks Steve !! I loved when he said "if you wanna be totally safe and comfortable you don't learn another foreign language" Powerful and wise advices, i realy thank both of you ❤️
Thank you Steve and Jennifer. ❤❤❤ It's really, really interesting!! It's the second time I've heard Steve (interviewed by a french teacher the first time). It's really helpful to have his feedback about making mistakes and enjoy the process of learning most of all. It's really hard to accept that, to be confortable with, but it's really important to work on it. I think it could be great for me to watch this video again several times.
Useful tips for those who want to reach the next level of learning any language, having confidence is number 1, in other words, making mistakes is part of it.
I very much enjoyed this conversation. Everything that was mentioned makes a lot of sense to me, specially the fact that learning a language is process of continuous growth and improvement, even in your native language! Thanks a lot for all your videos!
Hello everyone! I am currently learning English and a teacher said that we should study studiously the grammar and make sentences with each topic we're studying about and then speak them loudly and repeat. What do you about this method, do you think it is useful? Hope someone can give me an opinion!😊❤
This method is fundamental to learning any language. You’ll be able to form correct sentences automatically and will never forget it. It’s, also, crucial to focus on learning oral comprehension right from the beginning. It’s the hardest part in any language.
Steve used the word certitude. Not confidence. That's probably the key. When I believe in something, not in myself, but in something, then I have something to say. And the words will appear automatically.
16:20 When you already feel you know a language but you are not fluent: hire a good professional native philologist with also good knowledge of your own language and spend one or two hours a week talking to them, reading press articles aloud and making a speech as complex and long as you can, your tutor will correct your mistakes at the end of your speech and at the end of one year you will be fluent without major mistakes. Good health and luck to you.
Thanks Jennifer, you always surprising us with new technique to easy learning and become fluent and confident in English. Thank you very much for this amazing interview with Steve..thanks again Jennifer
Thank you Steve and Jennifer, I' am trying to improve my english for IELST test, and some times it is really frustrating, especially the grammar and advanced formal vocabulary. Watching this interview, I realize that I need to be more confident and enjoying the process. thanks again for all yours wonderfull tips.
My favorite part of the interview is when he talks about to enjoy the learning process and we should have to put a great amount of emphasis on listening and reading to get confidence.
Two simple points : 1) You need a real curiosity, interest for what you study ; 2) You need time to "digest" whatever you study. Speed, being faster is a madness of nowadays.
This man is good enough, to help give other people the motivation to study English to understand better every day more and more. I like this language, the music for me is the best.
The interest part of the vidio is when he is talking about the confidant and not worrying about mistaks and forgetting things that you have already learned. He says don't afraid to forget, you will learn gradually. The most important think in his speaking is, tips you can learn english is reading and listaning. Thanks Steve.

Hi, teacher, I'm excited with this brilliant interview you did. it help me to better my English with positive advice I've got from the interviewed . 👍🏽
Absolutely agree with this beautiful man. People, reading and reading a lot will lead you to perfection. 20 books at least in English plus the lessons of this nice lady.
Mr. Kaufmann, you really help me a lot. I agree with your comments, and they make me more confident in the way I am learning my new language. Keep going
Thank you for all the tips specially the "enjoy the journey" and "don't be a perfectionist" I fail at that often. 6:21 From self experience yes. In fact, a big amount of people feel afraid or insecure when speaking English due to many natives expecting us to sound like a native and judging quickly to every little mistake we make or mocking us. Thankfully I realized not all are like that, however that experience reminds in your mind.
Thanks Steve and Teacher Jen. Hello from Burma(Myanmar). Appreciate for letting know so many valuable tips that keep me going with perseverence on learning English as a never ending enjoyable process.
Than u so much... I learned so much with this interview, mostly to nit be afraid to communicate, to speak and make some mistakes. My official language is Portuguese. I'm struggle to speak and learn engish. I'm engaged to get it. Thank u so much. I liked it. God bless you.
I'm Brazilian and I've always kept in touch with English throughout my life, and it's only now that I'm beginning to notice the results of my efforts from the past, it's as if it were an immediate improvement in all components of the language such as listening, reading and even writing. The results came after a long wait, but now I can see it. It's real, I'm so happy. ❤😊

Working as a Lecturer, donot get much time to improve my speaking skill but what i am doing whenever i get time i learn english in different ways for example to read new words , to watch podcast , to watch reels , to watch videos related to economics and this strategy the helps alot to improve English.
Thanks Steve, your suggestion is very perfect for me. I totally agree with you. Learning language and everything depend on human's attitude and motivation. If you immerse yourself into one aspect that you want. That final result will coming to you gradually.
