      I think it’s about time. This series taught them to play true playoff hockey, kind of like what happened to Florida the last half of last season + round 1.

      Boston has had so much success in football, baseball, and hockey, and now basketball (again lol).. let ‘em lose this and make history on the bad side for once.
      Then you have the story of Florida coming back from 3-1 to face the leafs, now you have the leafs potentially coming back from 3-1 to face Florida.
      Also I don’t think Boston will give the fans an entertaining series with Florida.

    The Leafs are finally in a spot where the pressure seems to be off of them and entirely on the Bruins. They’re playing smart responsible hockey and actually getting some damn saves, crazy what having faith in your goalie can do for a team. The Leafs are the Leafs they are known for not getting it done that is literally their identity but now the attention is shifting to the Bruins cause everyone is starting to realize that they’ve also blown it a handful of times since their cup win.
    The Leafs were declared dead after game 4 with talk of big trades and firings being imminent and that still could very well happen but they’ve been playing like they don’t want that to happen for maybe the first time in the entire core 4 era.

      @dannypike8648 28 дней назад

      It should have been 2 minutes each. Boston player was holding the stick for 3-4 seconds. Toronto player was trying to pull it free and ended up cross checking him into the boards. You can see the ref make a hand signal looking at the play, can't really tell what it meant, but from the look of it he felt that the two plays cancelled each other out, or that the holding of the stick played a big part in the hit happening.
      I still think he should have called both, rather than neither. Can understand Boston fans not happy about it since the Leafs scored off a faceoff shortly after. But in game 3 Boston tied the game was seconds after Marchand and Bertuzzi had been going at each other and should have both been given penalties causing the play to be blown dead. That shift is also where Matthews got taken down behind the net with no call, and is likely where he got injured.
      It went in the Leafs favour in game 6, but it went in the Bruins favour in game 3.

They were an embarrassing team to root for because they had no heart, no identity, no effort. It feels like theyre finally starting to get it. Boston was constsntly ditching the puck early to avoid hits, something they've needed to incorporate into their playoff performances for a long time. If they play like that and lose tmrw, i will be more excited for next season, than bummed that this season is over. Typically I curse them all off season for folding under pressure time and time again. Bruins are going to have to earn tmrw. Finally... a Leafs performance I can respect...

  • @Jazzmaster1992
    @Jazzmaster1992 28 дней назад

    Everyone makes fun of the Leafs, but I feel the Bruins have a lot to lose here too. Just last year, after setting a new record for season wins and points, they blew a 3-1 series lead to an 8 seed and got bounced in the first round. A similar thing happened with Tampa five years prior, and even before that, Tampa had somewhat of a "history" of choking, considering they had multiple conference finals and one finals appearance but always came back with nothing. Their reputation for not being able to close out a series and go all the way with their talent was finally erased when they went back to back, in what was basically a perfect redemption arc.
    For Boston, it's starting to look troublesome. 2011 is starting to fade into memory, as are their hopes of reaching the top of the mountain again. If Boston doesn't win this series, and if they can't take the cup this year (which already seems doubtful), then they'll basically become the new Caps/Lightning as far as being regular season darlings that just were not built for playoff hockey.

    Shocked they didn’t go to Woll earlier. Just looks more confident than Samsoso. Not sure what you would do on the Bruins side - outside of the horrible no good offensive effort in the first, they also played well. Looking forward to game 7.

    Aside from game 4 the Leafs have been outplaying the Bruins. It would ne such an amazing comeback and retribution for the Leafs to win gane 7 against the bruins

    • @dannypike8648
      @dannypike8648 28 дней назад

      Yeah outside of game 4 they've carried the majority of the play 5 on 5. If their special teams just matched the league's worst regular season teams in PP and PK, they probably win this in 6.

    Man if the leafs can pull this off it will be shed so many demons… plus forcing Boston to wear the crown of first ever big 4 sports team to give up back to back 3-1 leads in the playoffs would just be everything a leafs fan could dream of.

    Am I surprised leafs took it to game 7? As a Leafs fan I'm surprised every year that they don't find some way to lose in 3

  • @bruinsfan8522
    @bruinsfan8522 27 дней назад

    I know that refs make mistakes and miss calls, but it really sucks that the Leafs first goal should never have happened. And if the first goal hasn't been scored, the second wouldn't have happened. The Leafs looked good but it's always disappointing when a missed call changes the game.

  • @dannypike8648
    @dannypike8648 28 дней назад

    Marchand's antics have caught up with him this series. He's been flopping all over the ice from the start. Him going down when the linesmen touched him in game 5 appears to have been the final straw. He went down 2-3 times in this game at the slightest touch and there was no call, whereas earlier in the series he was drawing penalties. Conversely, he got his first minor of the series(that gave the leafs a powerplay), and even as a Leafs fan I can say it was a soft call.
    You reap what you sow. Officials review game tape too, and the officials did not give him any leeway at all last game.. In Toronto we saw it with Bunting last year, and going back further with Kadri.
    I can't stand him, but I can't deny he is a hell of a player. His focus lately seems to be more on trying to draw penalties than elevating his game 5 on 5.
