Scotland has been heavily Christian for centuries, and this song dates back to the 17th century, so although the album itself is heavily influenced by Scandinavia, the lyrics of the song are Christian, making the "dark hill" actually be hell, not helheim, close though
I remembered her playing this track out a little sample in 2018 when I heard my Scottish Aunt lost her battle to ovarian cancer. And knowing that she released the full ballad on her new release makes me happy. Rest easy Aunt Helena. Till we meet again.
