The pleasure, and the huge privilege is ours! You sound and look gorgeous, and I'm not ready to stop playing this one on loop. I can't even express how much it means to me to be doing music with you, you're just magical in everything you do, and such an inspiration. 💙
I absolutely love this. I have schizophrenia and my life is so much darkness and bad stuff, it’s really hard to even have a normal conversation anymore cause everything was destroyed but I love that I can get excited by this music and distracted from the torture of it if only for a bit. I’m definitely going to listen through all your music!!!! It’s really nice. Hope you have a good day. Sorry
Nothing to be sorry for I'm the carer of a schizophrenic man. His life, and mental misery was transformed incredibly by medication. It took a whole to find the right mixture. Eventually on 3 anti psychotic he is now happy, calm and wonderful. Music also helps him too. I hope you have seen Dr about medication. There are so many possibilities now. ...the first time i heard this song, was 18 years old. Now I'm 61. Thank 's , that's wonderful. Greetings from Germany! Peace and freedom for this world.
There is really not enough I can say about this. Every verse brings some new awesomeness that moves the bar up on this song a foot: The great guitar solo, a new cello solo or variation, the broken tempo and drum as trouble starts, and throughout weaves K's incomparable voice. I absolutely loved Joan Baez's version of this for 60 years, but this is the DEFINITIVE VERSION FOR THE NEXT 60 YEARS.
Karliene made this song so perfect I have to agree, this is now my own favorite version of this song ever. I already loved The House Carpenter, but this is out of this world with her magical voice.
I’ve been singing this song since I was a little girl in the 1970s. I know a different set of words but they’re mostly the same. I actually like your words better! And this is the best rendition I’ve ever heard of this song. Many many kudos to you.
In my opinion, this is by far the best interpretation of this title. Even ahead of Joan Baez and Eleanor Tomlinson. Unfortunately, I only found this now. My sincere respect and admiration to all three of you. Could you possibly venture out to the River in the Pines? ;-) Greetings from Germany.
Thanks so much for your kind words about our version, Holz! We're delighted you enjoyed it. I believe anything sung by Karliene becomes the best version ever ;) And thanks for the suggestion, I didn't know "The River in the Pines", it's truly a beautiful one! At the moment we're actually looking into a possible album of Scottish folk songs... :)
@@RoxaneGenot Sorry Roxane, I definitely don't want to rush you, but what about the album? I would love to come to the premiere. No matter what it costs. ;-) Greetings from Germany
Actually originally an English folk song the earliest printed version of 1685 going by the title: 'A Warning for Married Women, being an example of Mrs Jane Reynolds (a West-country woman), born near Plymouth, who, having plighted her troth to a Seaman, was afterwards married to a Carpenter, and at last carried away by a Spirit, the manner how shall be presently recited. To a West-country tune called The Fair Maid of Bristol, Bateman, or John True.'
You are a truly beautiful woman. Your voice is soothing and heartfelt. My mother was a beautiful Irish redhead soprano. You fill my heart with joy. Thank you.
To be honest it's the first time I hear any version other than Joan Baez's (and I heard it to death). I never consider that this song could work so well with anything other than just a guitar, I didn't expect the drums, and the bass, but it's obvious that the Scottishness of the song makes it perfect for that type of rhythm.
Another glorious version of this song (especially if you want the lyrics in English) is here: ruclips.net/video/2ywHGsQ0CkM/видео.html Interesting to move from the beauty of a blonde Scandinavian to a the fiery red so often associated with the Celtic bloodline.
I guess this song is a variant of Daemon Lover. I had a notion that the variant was made in America when British imigrants brought Daemon Lover into America. So I was a little astonished because I found out "Scottish Folk Song."
Such a wonderful pleasure to sing this lovely song with you both. I'm sure it won't be the last. x

Appalachian American here, I grew up on the Doc Watson bluegrass version of this song but it’s amazing heard this way! Tears! I love it!
