Do not use this on your carpet. Its a complete waste of money and doesnt actually clean unlike a mop or a carpet cleaner. The steam coming out is barely hot enough to warm a surface. All your doing here is introducing moisture to carpet, prepare for mould and other fungi and bacteria to grow.... I returned mine as it was utter trash like all other steamers on the market. Fact is, steam especially high pressure is far to dangerour for residential use. You demonstrated this by showing your clear lack of personal protective equipment. No shoes, no gloves etc eyc. Obviously most home users have no idea so it needs to be pussied down to less steam and pressure than a decent steam iron. Safd
Oops I used it with my carpet and wooden floors, don’t know how it works with shag rug. But I think we can’t expect much from this steam mop. Should use for the simple and easy cases.
Best to hand spot clean on the spot, with damp absorbent heavy duty cloth. Rinse and repeat to totally lift as much off. No simple way. Any mops will spread the urine.
Very lightweight and much less effort to steam than clean a carpet with a normal vacuum cleaner. Obviously, you should vacuum your carpet before steaming it. Also, I have an idea to use a thinner steaming pad to heat up the carpet more quickly.
I usually mop with water only after vacuuming the floor. Follow the instructions and feel risky to try something else. If you find a better way with this mop, please share with us🤩

I haven’t used it on tiles, but as the instruction of the manufacturer this can be used on tiles as well.

It’s advised not to as the chemical’s + heat pressure can lead the device to explode.
I add Vinegar in mine - works well cleaning the tiles.
