My sister was on it for 20 years & her kidneys & liver was blown … she didn’t even die from that, but she had a heart attack…I also had a 40 year old neighbor was on dialysis since in her teens & she was on a donor list & got a kidney eventually…another friend of mine was on dialysis for 10+ years until her brother gave her a kidney…my friend said that donation list has a lot of rules to even get on it for all those years…there was a man in the news some years back that was having problems with the donor list because he hadn’t taken the covid vaccines it was on the news…I have heard that people who have a history of drugs,smoking & drinking have problems getting on that list…it may differ from state to state🤷🏽♀️but there are strict requirements to getting on that list & one is to be/stay clean of substances…Im not saying this was her issue but im saying that people can live a long time on dialysis waaay past 5 years …I know plenty females & males…but believe it or not there are strict requirements to getting on that donor list especially if you are/were are substance or alcohol user ….I dealt with it with my sister & yes she was a needle drug user for years, & also relatives are not always a match for donating neither …my friend had 2 brothers both were tested but only one was a match for donor…my neighbor got on the donor list after both her adult daughters were not a match & she was on that list 10 years & she got a kidney finally🥰🥰🥰rip to my sister she fought a long time but was not eligible for the donor lists…real talk

Out of 1 living sister and 2 living brothers , I’m the only one who took care of my Mother by myself. My mother had over 15 grandchildren children and more than 30 great grandchildren that didn’t live more than probably 30 minutes from me neither of them helped. I had more than 30 years on my job which I left only with a year and a half left but I walked away. Some people 😢😢😢😢

Let me speak on people that are in need of a kidney transplant, as a patient that is needing a kidney transplant you have to keep your body as healthy as you can there are do’s and don’t, like eating healthy foods and no drinking alcohol, red bull and limit yourself fluid intake. So if you’re not doing what the doctors are telling you. That’s how you get on the donors list because it will be hopeless to do a transplant if your body is not healthy that kidney will reject your body. So they take that very seriously and the want put you on a donor list because they don’t want to waste a good kidney on someone that is not healthy enough to even that can’t go through surgery. It’s a lot to take in just google and research it.
I know somebody who was on the list- he was born with diabetes- lead to kidney issues. He fought for 41 years. They called him to get a kidney BUT he started smoking cigars amd eating pizza. NOBODY knew about his 3 pizzas a night when he sad and ordering boxes of cigars off Amazon.😭In the end he couldn't get right. He passed. Current situations- history and FUTURE projection was the issue. Kat and my friend were NOT healthy ENOUGH for the Service. If she was in a "independent living facility" for special needs shed be ok. Family didn't want home health aids there- thats a human who can report abuse, neglect etc....

OK, so the thing about transplant is tricky so when you need a transplant, there’s rules you had to follow. You have to go to every appointment. You have to take all of your medicines because they check everything in detail and if you don’t follow those rules, you will not be on that list. My little sister had gotten the liver transplant and she needed another one since she wasn’t following her appointments. They denied her transplant, but my mother didn’t give up so we took it to a different hospital. All these people we had to call and eventually we got her on the list but she needed, a kidney transplant as well she went in surgery but her heart stopped she had just turned 28. You have to follow up with the appointment you need support cat didn’t have any support cat didn’t go to her appointments and is so sad that she didn’t have nobody to guide her.R.I.P CAT
The hospital can drop the ball too. They can write it down but what happens from there with the hospital seeing that they follow through sometimes just near happen! Just like that kidney or 2 that she should have been on the list for to say the least! I say the family should sue the hospital for not taking care of her as a patient of theirs. I’ve watched Cat for years and everyone deserves affordable healthcare however there was a time she had options however she chose a different route and some activities prevent people from being eligible for organ transplant. And as for the physician they see she may have a learning deficit, no matter how well she managed they should have assumed the duty to make referrals for Cat to maintain routine health. There are caseworkers at hospitals in place for things like this. And atp Cat mother was probably overwhelmed also. No one knows the life before recent and if they do then their would be no judgement to pass. Either way none of these words will bring her back. Hopefully everyone will leave here with the message. My male cousin had kidney failure in 2014 needed a kidney transplant you have to meet certain health requirements to even be eligible even then you may not survive the length of time until you receive it. He didn’t meet the requirements and he when he eventually did he died in 2016. It depends my uncle got a successful transplant but this was in the 1990s I think? This is so sad she needed more care than they were willing to admit, that woman should have been in her own assisted care facility or at least an apartment with visiting nurses.

Let me speak on people that are in need of a kidney transplant, as a patient that is needing a kidney transplant you have to keep your body as healthy as you can there are do’s and don’t, like eating healthy foods and no drinking alcohol, red bull and limit yourself fluid intake. So if you’re not doing what the doctors are telling you. That’s how you get on the donors list because it will be hopeless to do a transplant if your body is not healthy that kidney will reject your body. So they take that very seriously and the want put you on a donor list because they don’t want to waste a good kidney on someone that is not healthy enough to even that can’t go through surgery. It’s a lot to take in just google and research it.

I know somebody who was on the list- he was born with diabetes- lead to kidney issues. He fought for 41 years. They called him to get a kidney BUT he started smoking cigars amd eating pizza. NOBODY knew about his 3 pizzas a night when he sad and ordering boxes of cigars off Amazon.😭In the end he couldn't get right. He passed. Current situations- history and FUTURE projection was the issue. Kat and my friend were NOT healthy ENOUGH for the Service. If she was in a "independent living facility" for special needs shed be ok. Family didn't want home health aids there- thats a human who can report abuse, neglect etc....

They don't always give you state or federal benefits because of cerebral palsy, I have cerebral palsy, cancer and a lot of other stuff but I'm still fighting for ssdi, my state job of over 17 yrs is taking care of me for now with long term disability. Thank the Lord.

OK, so the thing about transplant is tricky so when you need a transplant, there’s rules you had to follow. You have to go to every appointment. You have to take all of your medicines because they check everything in detail and if you don’t follow those rules, you will not be on that list. My little sister had gotten the liver transplant and she needed another one since she wasn’t following her appointments. They denied her transplant, but my mother didn’t give up so we took it to a different hospital. All these people we had to call and eventually we got her on the list but she needed, a kidney transplant as well she went in surgery but her heart stopped she had just turned 28. You have to follow up with the appointment you need support cat didn’t have any support cat didn’t go to her appointments and is so sad that she didn’t have nobody to guide her.R.I.P CAT

The hospital can drop the ball too. They can write it down but what happens from there with the hospital seeing that they follow through sometimes just near happen! I’ve watched Cat for years and everyone deserves affordable healthcare however there was a time she had options however she chose a different route and some activities prevent people from being eligible for organ transplant. And as for the physician they see she may have a learning deficit, no matter how well she managed they should have assumed the duty to make referrals for Cat to maintain routine health. There are caseworkers at hospitals in place for things like this. And atp Cat mother was probably overwhelmed also. No one knows the life before recent and if they do then their would be no judgement to pass. Either way none of these words will bring her back. Hopefully everyone will leave here with the message. My male cousin had kidney failure in 2014 needed a kidney transplant you have to meet certain health requirements to even be eligible even then you may not survive the length of time until you receive it. He didn’t meet the requirements and he when he eventually did he died in 2016. It depends my uncle got a successful transplant but this was in the 1990s I think? This is so sad she needed more care than they were willing to admit, that woman should have been in her own assisted care facility or at least an apartment with visiting nurses.
