@@VideoGameEsoterica I really want him to develop a MiSTer device that has a slot for NES, Genesis, and SNES - so I can chunk my analogue products. I think this would be the ultimate money making endeavor.
So far everything that you've said and shown of this board is exactly everything that I wanted to see/hear. The fact that I can clone my already-existing MiSTer SD card onto another one and use that for the Taki board with no issue is another big plus for me. There's another channel I'm subbed to called "What's Ken Making", where he recently reviewed the QMTech clone boards, and in his video he actually revealed and explained the subtle differences the chips that the QMTech boards used compared to the DE-10's chips which, while subtle, in some ways were arguably better than what is normally used on the DE-10. I'm curious to see what subtle differences the chips on the Taki boards may have compared to the DE-10's, if there's any that exist that is. As for what I'd like to see tested on the Taki board, I'd like to see some N64 and Saturn emulation done since those, along with the PSX core, are the cores that used up the most resources on a DE-10. I wanna see just how one-to-one the Taki board actually is with the DE-10 when it comes to these cores. So, now we wait for the other Taki models to come out...
@VideoGameEsoterica Yeah, they wouldn't, but I've recently grown to appreciate little details like these when reviewing tech in-depth. Not that I'm asking YOU to go into that level of depth since your way of doing things suits you just fine, and I've got other channels that do that sort of thing that I can watch.
For me I weigh whether I think my audience benefits from that detail. If I say “X diff but that doesn’t change anything” I worry they dwell on whether it’s automotive / commercial / industrial SKUs. But then I spend 30 seconds on proper diagonal screw patterns 🤣
I loved that diagonal screw pattern section because it pointed out that I've been doing it wrong all my life. And it did it gently, and with kindness. Great job.

Great video, really loved how you broke things down and made it not feel intimidating. Can't wait to get my hands on one of these, going to be building a DIY arcade cabinet with this at the heart. Never mind game emulation - this is a good FPGA development setup, in general. The one thing I'd ask for is high speed ADC / DAC on an expansion board. BUT that would "break" compatibility with the original DE-10, because standard header pins make poor connections at higher speeds.

Managed to order a mega pack last night! I’m assuming the clone is compatible with ioboards from other vendors right? I’m eyeing one from misteraddons for the svideo connection through Saturn cable.
Thanks for this setup video! I have an old Sony 15" CRT that only connects by VGA so I think I will try the analog video out on the MiSTer. Can it output both analog and HDMI at the same time? (i.e. 2 displays at same time?) Also, do you know what the latency timing is for the 1GB DDR3 on-board memory? The incumbent MiSTerFPGA sellers must be worried, because nobody is going to buy their high priced items any more since Taki's MiSTer Pi is so much cheaper.
I actually kinda like the name, anyways, I’m looking to get into FPGA gaming for really cheap, but I don’t want to give up performance, does Taki Udon’s clone perform worse than a original mister? Tell me please and that would be the final push for me to get a MiSTer Pi.

Yep. Just use the analog IO board and it works great
@@VideoGameEsoterica Nice to know.
Yep super easy to get 15 or 31kHz out
@@VideoGameEsoterica just to be sure: when I look at the description on the MiSTer Pi page, I only see a digital IO board. Is it possible with this?
It comes with an analog bridge with the full bundle
Glad I didn't jump the gun on a getting a DE10 nano board before they "went up" in price due to the popularity of the mister project... no all I have to do is wait for the "console" version of Taki's mister project
They really went up due to the chip shortage in 2020/2021
What kinda cable do you need to fit this into a consumer CRT with composite input?
I’ll go over that in part 2 but you need to get from RGB to composite
Managed to order a mega pack last night! I’m assuming the clone is compatible with ioboards from other vendors right? I’m eyeing one from misteraddons for the svideo connection through Saturn cable.
Unsure if the IO Pro is compatible yet. So I might wait a minute. I’ll ask Porkchop
Thanks! Crossing my fingers.
I’m looking into it
Where can I order this?
Is there a jamma adapter ? And can it out put to arcade analog monitor ?
I haven’t tested any JAMMA setups with this as of yet so undetermined
I would like to use the mega pack with dual memory, do I have to leave off the top board, or just not connect the L board
Just the L board
Do those new v9.2 analog I/O boards work with component video on all cores, including the ones that haven't been updated in years?
Will have to check. First 9.2 in my collection. I’ve used nothing but MiSTer Addons parts til now
Hey VGE! are these clone boards cross compatible with official parts (in my case the original analog I/O board)?
Yes’ish. I’ll go over more of that once I can test and get diff boards in front of my camera
Can you provide a link for the USB WiFi key? I bought two of them and they're both not compatible with the MiSTer.
Links get eaten in comments. Find me on Twitter or discord
You can output both at the same time. I will talk about latency next vid
What tradeoffs would I have to deal with if I wanted to connect it to a CRT?
None
I actually kinda like the name, anyways, I’m looking to get into FPGA gaming for really cheap, but I don’t want to give up performance, does Taki Udon’s clone perform worse than a original mister? Tell me please and that would be the final push for me to get a MiSTer Pi.
It does the same thing. Be confident in picking one up
Please try putting this in a multisystem case🙏🙏🙏
In the future I will
I'm wondering if the FPGA IO Direct from misteraddons can work with this.
I haven’t tested yet but I’ll look into it
@@VideoGameEsoterica Thank you. I'm new to all this. I see that the IO Direct has a DC jumper and idk how that would work.
Hence the looking into it :) I don’t either. It may. It may not. Might need some parts
Even though it is cheaper, I know that I can still spend less and do more with perfectly capable and more versatile everyday emulation devices.
It’s just good to have options
I like my emulation handhelds but the input delay is so noticeable compared to playing fpga on my analogue pocket, so looking forward to a more accurate emulation with this mister clone and a more comfortable way to play 64 and arcade games.
Interesting. Is there a release date for this Mister Pi?
I should look further if this will released.
Batch one sold last night and batch two goes out tomorrow am
i could sleep to the SOTN OST.
It’s a classic
Chose the best possible game as the test game.
It’s the first game I load in any test if I can haha
im not getting any audio from the HDMI anyone know what i need to change everything is working but no audio ???
Should just be getting audio
If possible I'd like to see Armed Police Batrider tested. I've seen it give some people issues before on their Misters(possibly due to ram version?)
I’ll add it to the potential list
